Wow this weeks #roadtosteemfest is about fears.

Honestly I am not a big friend of fears. I do have them every once in a while, but once I am aware of one, I usually confront them and see how I can handle them, because I really don't like when anything or anyone is having control over me :D

Yeah.. I know I just like my freedom ..probaly way too much, also a reason why I have a problem with authority, but that is another topic haha

I mean in general I don't think it is a bad thing to have fears, but it is nice to know how to handle them and grow getting over those fears. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?

So let's think, what could I be afraid of at this years Steemfest?

1.

Gladly it is not my first Steemfest, so people will recognize me and I also know a lot of the attendees already. Last year I did know a few of them as well and was surprised how many recognized me or how many others I met that I had heard of or been in touch with before.

In the end as @anomadsoul already said correctly, this is not really a reason to be afraid, because we ARE all like a big family including everyone also new faces <3 - I am looking forward to meet @waybeyondpadthai though, so I will still go and see if she really greet me ;)

2.

I am sure I will end up drunk at one of the nights! If it is just a little bit like last year I will get drunk for sure haha and Bangkok is always good for a Party. I'll keep in mind that @celestal is there :D but usually I am the one bringing other people home anyways haha or we all just stay awake till the next morning and go on with steemfest, sleep is overrated ;)

3.

I think it is more normal stuff that I maybe could be afraid of. Just like @joythewanderer I am scared of flying for example! I do know what you mean! It is so weird because we fly a lot, but every time I am traveling I am afraid my plane crushes and I am picturing my family and loved ones, how they react to the news etc... think of everything I would have done still. So I try to be good all the time - just in case, no regrets etc.. I guess you know what I mean ;) .. also it keeps getting worse on every flight.. really weird I know.. but its just something I do.

Usually I just order some rum coke or red wine, knock myself out and watch movies to not think about that and survive until landing ;)

Also as I had a pretty bad scooter accident last time I went to Thailand, I will be scared a bit in case of using a scooter again. I do love cruising around with it, and I did still drive the scooter back 6hours from Pai to Chiang Mai after that accident, but still I guess I still have a bit of a trauma, just looking at my scars.

5.

If I have time I will go diving at the Steemfest after chill at Koh Chang. Diving still freaks me out! I am really scared of big fish, so my heart rate will go up for sure, but that is ok ;) - Maybe some of the others want to join me or be my dive buddy ;)

6.

And of course the Poker Tournament. Will there be a revange @anomadsoul?? I would definitely join in again, but would be scared of facing @bubke ;) - He wasn't the one destroying me, but still won the tournament. I was so close to winning, being chip leader and all, but was to sure of myself and my luck. So it is time to face that fear hehe. Also I will have @gtg again on my side to have some extra magic ;)

But all the rest should be fine. I already know where I will stay together with @martibis in Bangkok and have been actually at the same hostel just a few month ago with him, so we also know the surroundings and best street food there ;)

I am looking forward to meet my friends, get to know new steemians and hear about the development of several projects.

It will be a great event as always with @roelandp!
