SMT Progress: Testing, Wizard, DSteem Libraries

Hello Steemians and welcome to the year 2020! The team took this holiday season to rest up and prepare ourselves to complete the next stages of Smart Media Tokens and Communities. In today’s post we’d like to update you on some of the progress our blockchain team has made.

Testnet

Testing of SMTs has been going great. We have more community involvement than any previous hardfork with multiple prominent Steem users testing to varying degrees. Because of this testing, we have been discovering and fixing subtle yet significant bugs.

Our confidence in the stability of SMTs is growing daily. We will continue this testing process until we are certain SMTs are ready to go live. But so far things appear to be going to plan!

Participate in the Steem.DAO

The testing that Steem user @howo has been performing on the testnet has been incredibly valuable and demonstrates the amazing potential of the Steem Proposal System. But this potential can only be realized if people like you actually use it. Every stake-weighted vote matters, so if you haven’t already, we urge you to check out the proposals and vote on the ones you believe will add the most value to the Steem ecosystem..

The Wizard

Several new features and improvements have been made to the SMT wizard since our last update. The SMT wizard now supports up to 10 ICO tiers. The destination unit widget has been improved so that special destinations are available to users in a drop down menu. All datetime fields now use a jQuery datetime picker for a consistent experience across different browsers.

Upcoming changes include tooltip information on each field in the wizard and additional help text throughout the form pages.

DSteem Now Supports SMTs

DSteem is one of the most popular libraries for building Steem apps and we have now expanded the functionality of DSteem to support SMT operations. We want to make sure there are libraries that Steem developers can use to update their apps and test them on the testnet. This will also enable more apps to use SMTs when that protocol goes live.

Another benefit of having more apps updated on the testnet is that they will provide even more useful testing data, which will enable us to have a higher degree of confidence that the hardfork is safe. Our community of developers is one of the greatest resources we have and we want to support them as best we can!

SteemKick is a web-based DApp where the player has to predict the outcome of a Penalty kick. In SteemKick , player can also participate in a multiplayer tournament by staking a certain amount of STEEM token.

NB: SteemKick is a prototype to Penalty Predict, which is the first game on our TRON Blockchain based decentralized gaming hub, Tronstrike Gaming.

It is cool to see this finally happening. Do you see an any desire by the witnesses to accelerate the inflation ramp down for the STEEM token once the SMTs take hold? It would make more sense to me if the communities simply paid out in their tokens and STEEM was kept as a premium token to secure the network.
