Fellow Steemians,

it seems quite a lot has happened over the night and I'm getting updated as fast as possible.

Most notably, quite a lot of people have been voting for witnesses over the past couple of hours, which is amazing as the difference between Steemit Inc's stake & the community is shrinking! And that's exactly what we need right now.

I also noticed that a lot of people voted & un-voted my witness. I'm guessing the unvotes happened due to my witness being disabled over the night.

Rest assured, I was simply replaying my witness node (technical term for updating) and I'm back again.

Most importantly: I'm running the pre-soft fork version (0.22.1), but with a little twist => version number as 0.22.333. Most other witnesses seem to run the same, just with the version number 0.22.4444.

Now, I made the decision not to use the number 4444 (instead opted for 333), as I'm familiar with the asian culture and about the meaning of numbers there, notably 4 - often referring to "death". And I don't think our cultural background should have anything to do with the current situation.

Last but not least, it seems that the most important people at Steemit Inc gave their resignation. (@vandeberg, @andrarchy, @gerbino) (not sure about @roadscape)

On the one hand, I'm proud of their courage, but it does make me quite angry towards @ned and his careless action of selling the company.

At this point, it seems that many cards are on the table, but most importantly: the community is standing strong.

Personally, I would still like to see a future where Tron and Steem can both benefit, but I guess we have to see what the reality is.

Finally, I'm very grateful for many Steemians being active on Twitter and while all of this is disturbing to witness, it is cool to see that Steem seems to be everywhere in crypto-twitter. (Vitalik & co. tweeting).

Even though I disagree entirely with your ethics and developer practices I would be more than happy to have you represent us over Justin Sun. I gave you the Witness Vote back to all the accounts you manage. I am still not impressed with you not refunding my cancelled promotion for the New Zealand Shooting. Your rules didnt really mention gore and the is no official court order ever given to take the video down form Steem.

Sun bought steemit, not the block chain. I know there have been some groups, other front ends that would have liked to been able to get updates to the steem software API or what ever runs the chain, a chain wide system needs to be in place for how teams like steempeak dev team get to present their code/upgrade changes to the witnesses for consideration of adoption.

I am not a developer so the terms may be wrong that I used, I do know steempeak has been asking their user what changes they would like to see. I am sure that other front ends or development teams have been seeking out user needs wants and desires also. I do understand that Hard Forks should be kept to a minimum, but there must be a way teams other than the steemit development team to propose and get enacted Hard Forks.

You concluded by saying you were shutting down your dapps.. Now you're claiming an update is why you dropped your witness which whether true or not is a moot point as your services in that department are superfluous..

@therealwolf I saw your witness node was disabled yesterday so I put my vote elsewhere on one that was enabled. Now I know though. I set my proxy to @blocktrades. Any thoughts on that one way or another?

Justin made some drama and he thought he could beat the community in steem. He doesn't know how the communities work here. I was discouraging but I trust the communities here. So, the steeming will keep on going..

In support of the decision going back to pre soft fork 22.2, I think what we need now is de-escalation and find a solution with Steemit Inc, so that they can remove the votes as quickly as possible. In the long run we need more decentralization and Steemit Inc's stake will probably continue to shrink over the next months anyway. We have come a long way already.

You think there is a possiblity for us to continue on with "partnership"? I don't think that's the case. Their intentions are now clear and cooperating with them would be just naive.
