One of my top priorities in the last few months has been to simplify the onboarding into Steem Basic Income - to make coming to an understanding of what it is and how it works a lot easier. To that end, here is a summary of the helpful information that we have put together, in my preferred reading order.

Welcome to Steem Basic Income
This is our official welcome article that we now use in the memo for welcoming new members. It has been published in some languages, and we are looking to expand its reach even further (especially into languages that already have some of our earlier resources, as shown below). If you coordinated with me to translate this already and I missed your translation, please let me know and I will update this list.
Value Balances and Upvote Delivery
One of the most confusing things for new members is our upvote delivery system. Since most things on Steem operate on a daily or per-post basis, our system of storing balance and then delivering 'on demand' when a minimum level is reached is counter-intuitive. This article includes a good overview including great visual infographics.

Frequently Asked Questions
With the basics covered, the Frequently Asked Questions provides a more complete overview and fills in a lot of potential gaps. It also has the most comprehensive translation coverage, because I had it translated before ongoing discussions revealed the gaps that were later covered in the above resources.
Transaction Memo Guidelines
There are two additional articles that were directly linked in the FAQ that I also consider to be extremely helpful. The first is the Transaction Memo Guidelines. The syntax is pretty forgiving, but I do still see regular errors that have to be fixed manually.
Refund Policy
We updated our Refund Policy shortly after our automation release. Deliberately restrictive to protect sustainability and the subscription promotion service characteristics of our delivery method, it's critical information for anybody considering a substantial enrollment level.
Sustainability
Finally, each SBI unit is effectively backed by some level of SP (between 1 and 2 SP). The exact level is a function of our sustainability multiplier, which makes understanding our sustainability metrics pretty important to a full understanding of expected returns, along with how we would adapt to protocol-level changes.
