Titicaca Lake - place from my Peru bucket list. Uros islands on Lake Titicaca where the Uros people build their houses, new islands around or boats out of the Totora reed. I was super excited to meet local people and learn about their culture and everyday life.. but.. how was I excited.. It was more disappointing...
The people of Uros should understand the true meaning of environmentalism. They live in Totora reed houses on floating islands. They should have a very strong connection with the goddess Pachamama, whose name translates to "Earth Mother". They know that if they respect and care for her, she will return the favor. Uhh.. Do they really care?

Why solar panels? "I wanna watch TV inside my house". Uhh.. Do they really need it?

I've spent some time in Indonesia. One positive point is that in Peru it is still not so bad but it can be. Be your own hero and try change it with small steps. I know these changes won´t happen over night, but all stories start somewhere. There are so many beautifully sustainable alternatives to just about anything - swap your plastic toothbrush, get yourself a refillable water bottle or just pick up the waste you see on the streets.

Peru. Indonesie. Asie. Česko. Asi jedno kde, všude to je a všude neví co s tím. To = Plast. Byla jsem zklamaná jak předci Inků, pro které je souznění s přírodou to nejdůležitější, s přírodou zacházejí. Jediná pozitivní věc, že v Indonésii to je ještě horší než v Peru. Samozřejmě je to jen otázka času.
Existuje spousta krásných alternativ, jak omezit spotřebu. Nemůžeme jako jedinci změnit ve velkém svět, ale můžeme se o to pokusit. Buďme hrdinové sami sobě a dělejme maličkosti - kartáčky, tyčinky do uší, brčka, odpad na ulicích - to vše jsou pro nás každoden věci pomíjivé, ale pro přírodu věci s dlouhodobým trváním.
