One of my favorite entertainments is sitting or lying down to watch a movie that catches my eye on one of my favorite apps, Netflix. Reviewing the different options they offer, I stumbled upon the movie "A jazzman´s Blues". The first thing that caught my attention is that it was set in the 1950s, a rather difficult time in the world, in every way, economically and socially; After World War II everyone was waking up to a new reality and in this film one of those realities is revealed.
It all starts when an old woman demands a prosecutor’s attention, to investigate a murder of many years, bringing with her a batch of old letters, where an old love story is told, full of mysteries, which also involved a murder. The theme of the film is developed between two people of color, only that one of them having his white complexion changes the course of events... so far we do not see the blues anywhere, until they begin to relate these memories. From that moment we moved to the 50s in the middle of a village, where black people are discriminated against in a big way; there arises a beautiful love story accompanied by beautiful blues songs.
Uno de mis entretenimientos preferidos es sentarme o acostarme a ver alguna película que llame mi atención en una de mis aplicaciones favoritas, Netflix. Revisando las diferentes opciones que ofrecen, me topé con la película "Un jazzista en clave de Blues". Lo primero que atrajo mi atención es que estaba ambientada en años 50, una época bastante difícil en el mundo, en todos los sentidos, en lo económico y lo social; luego de la Segunda Guerra Mundial todos estaban despertando a una nueva realidad y en esta película se pone de manifiesto una de esas realidades.
Todo comienza cuando una anciana le demanda a un fiscal atención, para que investigue un asesinato de muchos años, trayendo con ella un lote de viejas cartas, donde se cuenta una vieja historia de amor, llena de misterios, que también implicaba un asesinato. La temática de la película se desarrolla entre dos personas de color, solo que una de ellas al tener su tez blanca cambia el rumbo de los acontecimientos... hasta aquí no vemos el blues por ningún lado, sino hasta que se empieza a relatar estas memorias. Desde ese momento nos trasladamos a los años 50 en medio de un poblado, donde discriminan a los de raza negra en gran manera; allí surge una linda historia de amor acompañada por hermosos cantos de blues.

Despite his color, he was much appreciated for his talent, along with his brother, who envied everything in his life... In every scene I put the emotions to the top, because I wanted to be there in some and shout what I should do ha ha, ha, especially when almost at the end after years without seeing her mother decides to go see her, but also to meet her forbidden love, I wanted to go through the screen and say "don’t go nooo" ha ha ha. I must say that this film from the beginning captivated me and even to the end...
It made me reflect on the injustices of the world, the lack of love, the lack of empathy, the dark feelings like envy and what it can cause... that we managed from the beginning of our "civilization" so many people who have suffered for thinking or being different, without taking into account that we are all human beings and that we have the same needs and rights. For me it was an extremely interesting film, with its historical traces, with its touch of all emotions and feelings: love, fear, intrigue, dramas, envy, fun. That’s why I recommend it at 100/. It’s a 10 out of 10, see, its end is also not wasted.
El protagonista empieza a cantar de la mano de su madre, quien está en pos de su defensa, todo el tiempo, en medio de la propia familia; pues este, al ser de alma noble y sensible, es blanco del desprecio por parte de su padrastro y su propio hermano. Entre todos estos dramas familiares, nace aquel primer amor, que desde un inicio es prohibido, ya que la muchacha amada es manipulada por un incestuoso abuelo y luego por su cruel madre, alejándolos el uno del otro. Es entonces donde empieza a ponerse más interesante la trama. Al pasar el tiempo, la chica vuelve al pueblo casada con un chico blanco, integrante de una familia acaudalada, y renace de nuevo ese amor prohibido, dándole un giro inesperado a la vida de ambos.
El chico, al verse obligado a salir de su pueblo, comienza una carrera de éxitos como cantante de blues. A pesar de su color, era muy apreciado por su talento, junto a su hermano, que envidiaba todo en su vida... En cada escena me ponía las emociones al tope, pues quería estar allí en algunas y gritarle lo que debía hacer ja, ja, ja, sobre todo cuando casi al final luego de años sin ver a su madre decide irla a ver, pero también para encontrarse con su amor prohibido, en ese instante, quería traspasarme por la pantalla y decirle "no vayas nooo" ja, ja, ja. Debo decir que esta película desde un inicio me cautivo e incluso hasta su final...
Me hizo reflexionar acerca de las injusticias del mundo, de la falta de amor, la falta de empatía, los oscuros sentimientos como la envidia y lo que esta puede ocasionar... que manejamos desde el inicio de nuestra "civilización" tantas personas que han sufrido por pensar o ser diferentes, sin tener en cuenta que todos somos seres humanos y que tenemos las mismas necesidades y derechos. Para mí fue una película sumamente interesante, con sus rastros históricos, con su toque de todas las emociones y sentimientos: amor, miedo, intriga, dramas, envidias, diversión. Es por ello que la recomiendo al 100/. Es un 10 de 10, véanla, su final tampoco tiene desperdicios.
