Something that seems to instill more fear than running into a couple of criminals at midnight, is having a Spanish tax inspector cross your path. It seems that the subject of taxes in Spain generates a lot of debate. That revenue agency is relentless when it comes to collecting taxes and sticks its nose into the tiniest thing.

The tax rate in this country seems a bit excessive to me. Perhaps it would matter if it were all really for the benefit of its citizens and resources were not diverted to create absurd progressive ministries and lavish spending for the corrupt pockets of politicians.

So it seems to me a success of the creators of this mini-series, to take a character with a profession that generates much rejection in real life and make us as viewers feel sympathy for her, we are interested in her life and we want her to succeed in her crusade.

In its promotion it has been labeled as a Tributary thriller, something I find funny, but watching it in its entirety, it really has touches of thriller and under excellent direction, it reaches entertaining moments of tension. Because if there's one thing Celeste has, it's that it's very entertaining. It only has six episodes of approximately thirty minutes, which makes it an easy to digest and quick product. I watched the whole thing in one morning.

Algo que parece infundir más miedo que toparse con un par de delincuentes a medianoche, es que se cruce en tu camino un inspector de Hacienda español. Parece que el tema de los impuestos en España genera mucho debate. Ese organismo recaudador es implacable a la hora de cobrar impuestos y mete sus narices en lo más nimio.

La tasa de impuestos de este país me parece un poco excesivo. Quizás importaría si todo fuera realmente en beneficio de sus ciudadanos y no se desviaran recursos para crear absurdos ministerios progresistas y gastos suntuarios para los corruptos bolsillos de los políticos.

Por lo que me parece un acierto de los creadores de esta mini serie, coger un personaje con una profesión que genera mucho rechazo en la vida real y hacer que como espectadores sintamos simpatía por ella, nos interesamos por su vida y queremos que salga airosa de su cruzada.

En su promoción ha sido etiquetada como thriller Tributario, algo que me parece gracioso, pero al verla en su totalidad, realmente tiene toques de thriller y bajo una excelente dirección, alcanza momentos de tensión entretenidos. Porque si algo tiene Celeste es que es muy entretenida. Sólo tiene seis episodios de aproximadamente treinta minutos, lo que la convierte en un producto fácil de digerir y rápido. Yo la vi entera en una mañana.

One of the creators of the series is Diego San José, who had already charmed me with his trilogy Vota Juan, Vamos Juan and Vente Juan. That's why she will take it to heart to take the artist to court.

Sara is a gray character, with a gray job and an even grayer life. A bureaucrat who has an assigned role. Her work is not a source of pride, in one scene another inspector tells her that what they do is not to be said at a party. Her life, after being widowed, is rather sad. But when she discovers some secrets that make her see the lie in which she has lived, it is easy to empathize with her. I know what a sense of duty is in a similar position. I loved the character played by Carmen Machi, a great performance.

Manolo Solo plays a paparazzo who follows Celste everywhere and who will become Sara's ally. Another life full of loneliness. Sara and he will have many points in common, both with jobs that much agent hates. Andrea Bayardo plays Celste, although her character is not so explored, beyond giving us some glimpses.

Uno de los creadores de la serie es Diego San José, que ya me había encantado con su trilogía Vota Juan, Vamos Juan y Vente Juan. La serie me pareció genial y esta vez une fuerzas con Elena Trape, haciendo de Celeste un drama con toques de comedia. Porque más allá de las situaciones que puedan resultar graciosas, Celeste nos adentra en un viaje instrospectivo de sus personajes enfrentados a la soledad, el fracaso y las decepciones.

A lo largo de su vida Sara Santano ha destacado dentro de Hacienda, es una inspectora que ha conseguido sobresalir como una de las mejores. Ahora ha llegado el momento de jubilarse, pero antes debe enfrentarse a un nuevo caso. Demostrar que Celeste, una estrella de la música mexicana, ha pasado más de 180 días en España, por lo que debe a la Hacienda española más de 20 millones de euros. Para Sara, una mujer fiel a su trabajo, ésta es la oportunidad de salir por la puerta grande, de hacer su trabajo, algo que para ella es sagrado. Por eso se tomará muy a pecho llevar a la artista ante los tribunales.

Sara es un personaje gris, con un trabajo gris y una vida aún más gris. Una borócrata que tiene un papel asignado. Su trabajo no es motivo de orgullo, en una escena otro inspector le dice que lo que hacen no es para decirlo en una fiesta. Su vida, tras enviudar, es bastante triste. Pero cuando descubre algunos secretos que le hacen ver la mentira en la que ha vivido, es fácil empatizar con ella. Sé lo que es el sentido del deber en una posición similar. Me encantó el personaje interpretado por Carmen Machi, una gran actuación.

Manolo Solo interpreta a un paparazzo que sigue a Celste a todas partes y que se convertirá en el aliado de Sara. Otra vida llena de soledad. Sara y él tendrán muchos puntos en común, ambos con trabajos que mucho agente odia. Andrea Bayardo interpreta a Celste, aunque su personaje no está tan explorado, más allá de darnos algunos vistazos.
