When a movie is released and manages to exceed every expectation, it’s always a treat to see a sequel—and those are the ones that keep you on the edge of your seat while showing us that sometimes a decision can turn into something very dangerous and put lives at risk. That’s why Fall 2: Deadpoint is here, presenting a story that’s perfect for those who love extreme sports and enjoy heights, since the movie once again plays on one of the fears many of us may have—being hundreds of meters above the ground with no easy way out—making every second of this film much more thrilling, but leaving us with just one question: Will they make it home alive?

Cuando se estrena una película y lograr superar cada una de las expectativas siempre será muy valioso poder ver una segunda parte y esas son las que hacen ver cada segundo y a la vez demostrarnos que a veces una decisión puede llegar a convertirse en algo muy peligroso y poner la vida en riesgo. Por eso llega Fall 2: Deadpoint, la cual nos presenta una historia que sería perfectamente para quienes le gusta el deporte extremo, como también disfrutar de las alturas, ya que la película vuelve a jugar con uno de los miedos que quizás muchos tenemos y estar en a cientos de metros del suelo sin tener una salida fácil, logrando que cada segundo de esta película se vuelva mucho más emocionante, pero con una sola pregunta ¿Podrán regresar a casa con vida?

One of the things that makes this kind of movie work is the ability to show every detail of that situation—every step they take as they climb—without relying on too many special effects to build tension or instill fear, since simply being there is, in itself, incredibly powerful. Plus, it takes us to one of the most extreme places—one that not everyone dares to venture into—which is why a bad decision, a small misstep, or simply running out of strength can change everything, because there will be no one to call or ask for help.

Here, the characters bear a great responsibility, since each has a different way of handling things when faced with danger, and that makes the viewer put themselves in their shoes—since surely no one would be prepared for that. Furthermore, as the story progresses, things get more and more complicated, as fatigue, hunger, and desperation come into play—and honestly, it makes you reflect on just how far you’d be willing to go, as well as whether you’d be willing to leave your responsibilities to someone else.

Una de las cosas que hace que este tipo de películas funcione es poder mostrar cada detalle de esa situación, de cada paso que van dando cuando van escalando, sin la necesidad de usar tantos efectos, para poder generar tensión o ese miedo, ya que nada más con el hecho de estar allí es algo muy valioso. Además, nos lleva a uno de los lugares más extremos y que no todo el mundo se atreve, por eso una mala decisión, un pequeño tropiezo o simplemente quedarse sin fuerzas puede cambiarlo todo, porque no habrá nadie para llamar o pedir una mano.

Aquí los personajes tiene una gran responsabilidad, puesto que cada uno tiene una forma distinta de hacer las cosas ante una situación de peligro y eso hace que uno como espectador se pongan en el lugar de ellos, ya que seguramente nadie estaría preparado para eso. Además, a medida que avanza todo se va complicando, puesto que entra en juego el cansancio, el hambre, la desesperación y sinceramente es una reflexión para llevarnos a pensar hasta uno estaría dispuesto a llegar al igual que dejarías las responsabilidades a alguien más.

I really liked the result of this movie, Fall 2: Deadpoint, because it’s entertaining, sticks to the same formula as this type of survival movie, and some situations can feel quite desperate. That’s why it’s not a movie that’s going to revolutionize the genre, but it will certainly generate suspense, danger, and anxiety—and after watching it, it’ll make you wonder if it’s really worth putting yourself in a very high place or overcoming that fear of heights. So if you’re looking for something that makes you realize how close danger really is, this one’s for you.

Me gusto mucho el resultado de esta película Fall 2: Deadpoint, ya que es entretenida, mantiene la misma fórmula de este tipo de película de supervivencia y algunas situaciones pueden sentirse bastante desesperante, por eso es una película que no va a cambiar el género, pero si va a generar suspenso, peligro, ansiedad y después de verla te hará pensar si realmente vale la pena mostrarse en algo muy alto o superar ese miedo a las alturas. Así que si buscas algo para darte cuenta del peligro parece estar a un solo paso, esta será para ti.
