I kept postponing Lights Out by Navessa Allen, mainly hoping to read the full trilogy in my native language first. But after all the BookTok hype and divided opinions, I finally gave in.
The first half felt a bit slow for me, and while some moments between Ally and Josh were a bit cringe, I did enjoy their teasing dynamic. The story really improved later on, and the twists helped tie everything together.
I know some readers were bothered by the “spoiler” on the cover, but it didn’t ruin the experience for me. Overall, it’s a good reminder to form your own opinion instead of relying too much
