I might be forced to believe the assumption that anything Netflix touches turns to gold. It might be fact that this movie reached over a hundred million watch hours or that viewers describe it as 'beautiful'.
Notwithstanding, there is a lot of attention on this movie. It might be because of the storyline, or the criticisms surrounding it. This movie has drawn criticism for propagating misogynistic stereotypes.
Purple Hearts is a movie about Cassie (Sofia Carson) and Luke (Nicholas Galitzine). Cassie has type 1 diabetes and is a struggling artist who waits tables to pay her rent and buy drugs for herself since her obviously shitty health insurance cannot cover her insulin medication, while Luke is an ex drug addict who is recently recruited into the Marines.
Luke and Cassie get into a marriage of convenience. This marriage affords Cassie the needed medical care for her diabetes, and Luke the needed allowance to pay off his drug dealer friend who threatens him and his family. An obvious scam of a marriage, but it works.
Asides the obvious criticisms, I believe this movie is absolutely 'beautiful' From the realistic storyline, to the jaw breaking transition from strangers to enemies, enemies to friends and friends to lovers between the characters, I'll say I prefer it when the character is a rude spoilt rich boy who finds redemption in an innocent, prim and proper girl.
However, I noticed that there was absence of close-up filming between the actors. For a romantic movie, close-up filming during certain scenes is absolutely necessary as it adds to the romantic and watch appeal.
In addition, I found most of Luke and Cassie's conversations disturbing. It added authenticity to the claims of people who assume the movie propagates misogyny especially the part where Luke and Cassie argue, and while Luke believes he is the one who goes out to save the world, he thinks Cassie is just a Twitter keypad feminist.
Armando, Luke's co Marine, doesn't also help matters as he constantly shades Cassie on her beliefs and believe she doesn't have a right to argue with him. Asides his jovial energy, one might be safe to assume he doesn't have respect for women. When he said " Do what the man says" during a heated conversation at a restaurant where they go to celebrate, I lost it.
Then there's also the fact that even though Luke is an ex drug addict, the Marines recruit him. This is a great pointer to belief in redemption of oneself and when Cassie hangs the American flag alongside the LGBTQ flag after she sees Luke off to the base, it's a pointer that she might actually start to believe in America again after the harsh treatment it serves her mother as an immigrant.
I also have to give credit to the director Rosenbaum, for the superb cinematography, soul touching instrumentals, and amazing special effects, they were so realistically beautiful.
My favorite actor in the movie is definitely Cassie. I love how she grows from a flawed character in the beginning of the movie to someone who understands love and commitment. When Luke is injured in combat, she takes care of him. It is admirable how both Luke and Cassie respect and trust each other despite the fact that they are in a fake marriage, and become sweetly sacrificial. The fact that Cassie is an artist does it for me. Her music speaks from her soul and while most people speak their feelings out loud or write them in a journal, she instead turns hers into music.
My favorite track of hers is "Come back home". Not only does it have great replay value, but it felt like she wrote the song for Luke. As someone who is spiritual, I might be a little selfish if I said the song saved Luke from being killed in combat and instead brought him back home even if it was in a wheelchair.
If a movie doesn't evoke some sort of emotions, then I guess viewers won't remember it. And the writers of this movie must have understood this assignment, because I was shattered when Frankie died. Armando could have died, and I wouldn't feel it because he was a total jerk, but when Frankie died, I couldn't stop the tears from flowing.
This was a realistic romance movie for me. I mean I am not against a romance movie with a toxic male character constantly manipulating the female character and calling it love with some cliché love scenes, there are viewers who enjoy that. But I feel this movie speaks to what love is actually about.
The sacrifices, the compromises and the fact that love would not always be at first sight, it can also grow over time. Then there's also commitment towards each other, something Luke and Cassie fiercely embodied for one another.
Honestly, when Luke had his accident, I expected Cassie to freak and bolt. They weren't in love or anything, but she freaked and stayed to take care of him. Now, that's a show of love.
To make the movie more enjoyable, I believe there would have been steamier scenes. Asides the slight show of nudity after they got married and in the bathroom, there was really no hint of sexual chemistry between. It was obvious they were attracted to each other, and a little bit of longing touches here and there in addition to some intense stares wouldn't have been a bad idea.
Word is, there is going to be another part of the movie coming to our screens soon. And I couldn't be more excited because I am sure the writers and producers have something exciting up their sleeves. Purple Hearts rates a solid ⅘ for me and I definitely recommend.

I know my review of this movie is coming late, I can still remember the time when I read more than five different reviews on this movie here in the community. I had the movie downloaded after but I only got to see it some days back when I thought of seeing a full movie for a change. I'm a Kdrama fan so having to see this movie at first, I had less expectations to be wowed but that didn't stop me from seeing it anyways.
After seeing the movie "Purple Hearts", I must confess, It went beyond my expectations and I enjoyed how the storyline played out.
Talk of a movie introducing new characters, some political stereotypes, how it is in the marines, romance, music and to complete the package... A movie where shit got real! It is not my exact kind of movie but I saw too many reasons to enjoy the watch.
"Purple Hearts" is a 2022 movie released in July, a movie about Luke, a marine guy who was once an addict and got himself into a huge debt. It's also about Cassie, a struggling musician who is finding it hard to keep up with the bills for her diabetic illness. The two got involved in a contract marriage to gain the benefits of being married as a marine soldier and a marine soldier wife. From being far distance couple to living together because of an incident at the marines and from having nothing as a musician to becoming so popular, the couple began to face a reality they didn't plan for.
How did they make their marriage seem real? How did they cope with their huge differences in personality and beliefs? What happens when a simple contract becomes complicated? How did their plans fell through?
The storyline got some twists and was interesting when the shit got real. I like how their differences were so obvious but the viewers could still predict that they would fall in love in the end. I'm not a fan of predictable movies but I had to care less on this one as they had my focus on a lot more than it being predictable.
I know this would come off as me being a Kdrama fan and using that view on this movie but I must mention that, the couple leads didn't show much chemistry as expected but then, this could have a lot to do with the fact that they have so much differences and the movie didn't even end with an assurance that they would find a balance to that. It's still a happy ending movie regardless since the viewers can decide their imaginary "forever after" storyline for it.
Another side of the movie I would have loved so much, I love it a little, is the Music the female lead played in. She is an artist character before she got into the marriage contract but I feel she would have done much better in another kind of profession than the music profession for this movie storyline. I'm not saying she didn't do great on this one though because I read that she wrote and sang all the songs in this movie, That's impressive.
One of the songs I love most in the movie is the one titled "I Didn't Know" and I think I love it because it reveals her true feelings and kind of summarizes the romance aspect of the movie. The melody of the song is beautiful too, she does have a breathy voice obviously which is a little unfit for her songs but it didn't take away the essence of the music in the movie and that is what matters more.
Overall, the movie is a good watch for me and I'll recommend it for anyone who is yet to see it. I'm rating it a 7/10 for all the reasons I must have stated in my review. Do check the movie out or share your thoughts if you've seen the movie already.

Hoy les presentare un Drama Romántico del 2022, basada en la Novela del mismo nombre de Tess Wakefield , Dirigida por Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum se trata de PURPLE HEARTS / CORAZONES MALHERIDOS Protagonizada por Sofía Carson y Nicholas Galitzine.
¿De qué trata?
Es la historia de dos jóvenes Cassie Salazar (Sofia Carson) y Luke Morrow (Nicholas Galitzine), ella trabaja de mesera en un bar, también canta y él es un marine recién reclutado, el inicio de ellos no fue muy agradable, ya que sus compañeros empezaron a expresarse mal de los extranjeros. El caso es que ella es diabética y no tiene dinero para comprarse el medicamento por su parte Luke es buscado por un tal johnno al que le debe 15,000 $ en drogas, Cassie le pide a su amigo Frankie Mubuthia (Chosen Jacobs) que se case con ella, él le dice que no, pero Luke habla con ella y le dice que eso es penado por el gobierno, sin embargo ante la presión de Johnno, él le propone un matrimonio fingido para obtener del gobierno el dinero para solventar sus situaciones. Al poco tiempo Cassie y Luke se verán afectados por un accidente y sus vidas cambiaran.
Opinión Personal
Ya anteriormente me he declarado 100% Romántica, y esta película le falto un poquito, hoy defenderé el amor verdadero entre pareja, aunque reconozco que están escasos, en mi caso estoy sola, como sabrán la Mujer Maravilla no puede luchar por la justicia teniendo alguien a su lado. Ja ja ja.
Hablando en serio, a veces nos empeñamos en relaciones estériles que no producen nada y dejamos pasar quizás el amor de nuestra vida, por no ir más allá y salir de nuestra zona de confort. En el caso de los jóvenes ellos se casaron con un propósito, pero se gustaron de inmediato pues consumaron el matrimonio y esto que era de apariencia. En esta Película considero hubo una buena química entre los actores, trasmitieron, amor, miedo, rabia, aunque en algunas escenas me molesto el hecho de que ella se hacía como la ruda, muy fuerte, frente a un Luke pacifico, controlado y sentimental, y no le note ese amor cuando el necesito de ella, yo esperaba una entrega total.
En esta película se abordó temas como los problemas con los inmigrantes que muchas veces son chantajeados y explotados solo para no ser denunciados. Otro seria las drogas y la cantidad de dinero que tienen que pagar para no ser ajusticiados y quizás sus familiares tienen que pagar el precio siendo inocentes, otro problema que plantea es que si puedes comprar tus medicamentos, no pagas la renta o no comes, la economía es reducida. Otro seria la guerra y los jóvenes que tienen que ir a defender un país, expuestos a morir. Los dos jóvenes cargando sus traumas, problemas, frustraciones, no se pienso, porque Cassie no vivía con la mama, así no tiene que pagar renta o sale más caro vivir con la mama?
Me encanto las canciones, Sofía Carson tiene una bella voz, aparte de que es una mujer hermosa, me encanto la escena cuando la suben en el autobús para que le dé un beso. Así como el Golden Retriever llamado Peaches que buscaron como mascota para la recuperación de Luke. Bueno amigos espero la vean es una hermosa película de AMOR, coménteme que les pareció, Besos y Abrazos

In this movie I think there was a good chemistry between the actors, they transmitted love, fear, anger, although in some scenes I was bothered by the fact that she played the tough, very strong, in front of a peaceful, controlled and sentimental Luke, and I did not notice that love when he needed her, I expected a total surrender.

Purple Hearts, es una película romántica orginal de Netflix, que nos cuenta la historia de Cassie y Luke, ella se esta esforzando por construir un futuro, alcanzar sus sueños y sobrevivir a la diabetes, él por su parte es un marine con un pasado no tan perfecto... Ambos son diferentes, Cassie tiene ciertos ideales, Luke demasiadas convicciones pero su futuro definitivamente cambia por convenencia.

Yo desde que comence a ver esta película sabía que me iba a hacer llorar y así fue, realmente es una película que disfrute pero vamos a ir parte por parte, lo primero es que esta no es una historia nueva, hay muchos elementos que ya hemos visto anteriormente: dos personas que no se aman pero hacen un trato por desesperación, dos personas diferentes que terminan enamoradose sin importar nada y a las que les cuesta aceptar sus sentimientos; y a pesar de todos esos pequeños clichés que he mencionado, esta película se siente fresca por la manera en la que la han presentado.
I knew since I started watching this movie that it was going to make me cry and it did, it really is a movie that I enjoyed but let's go part by part, the first thing is that this is not a new story, there are many elements that we have seen before: two people who do not love each other but make a deal out of desperation, two different people who end up falling in love no matter what and who find it hard to accept their feelings; and despite all those little clichés that I mentioned, this movie feels fresh because of the way it has been presented.
Hablando de los personajes, siento que quizá no hubo tanto desarollo, pero de los principales conocemos demasiadas facetas, Cassie, por ejemplo es como esa niña que vive lastimada y a la defensiva pero que intenta con todas sus fuerzas salir adelante, además nos la presentan como una persona que padece de Diabetes Tipo 1 y auqnue no profundizan demasiado en la enfermedad, me puedo indentificar porque es el miedo que vivo cada día, el de algún día pasar la barrera entre la resistencia a la insulina y la diabetes; pero volviendo a Cassie, ame como parecía ser tan irracional y fría pero a través de las canciones que se presentaron podías entender tanto.
Hablando de canciones, ya me las descargue todas, es que son preciosas y debo decir que aportaron demasiado a la trama, sin ellas siento que no sería igual, no sé porque pero le agrega tanto sentimiento a cada escena, desnuda esos sentimientos que los actores nos estan transmitiendo (excelente química) y nos hace conectar con la historia y creo que esa conexión es lo que hizo de la película un éxito.
Volviendo a Luke, su personaje quizá no estan profundo pero sinceramente es el ejemplo perfecto que tu vida puede parecer perfecto pero por dentro llevas tanto, que se hace difícil resurgir, además el vivo ejemplo de que cuando quieres cambiar, solo tienes que decidirlo desde tu corazón.

Speaking of songs, I already downloaded them all, they are just beautiful and I must say that they contributed too much to the plot, without them I feel it wouldn't be the same, I don't know why but it adds so much feeling to every scene, it bares those feelings that the actors are transmitting to us (excellent chemistry) and makes us connect with the story and I think that connection is what made the movie a success.
Going back to Luke, his character may not be deep but honestly he is the perfect example that your life may seem perfect but inside you carry so much, that it is difficult to resurface, also the living example that when you want to change, you just have to decide it from your heart.
Otra cosa que ame de esta película, fue la manera en que mostraron ciertas realidades, como la poca improtancia que tienen algunas comunidades latinas, que la salud es un negocio y que la vida suele ser bastante injusta, pero todo esto bajo una burbuja demasiado romántica que me tenía embobada, sinceramente es por eso que considero que esta película hasta te ayuda a bajarle un poco al estrés.
Ahora, vamos con el único aspecto que NO me gusto, este es que siento que falto un poco de sustento para la trama, es como ese mini efecto Disney dónde todo pasa magicamente, pero también es un poco predecible en ciertas ocasiones; ahora bien, ¿esto me hizo no disfrutar la película? La respuesta es que no, aún me sigue pareciendo una increíble película solo aclaraba un punto que apra otras personas peude ser importante, esta es una película para ver con tus amigas o en una noche relajada.
Definitivamente me ha encantado conectarme con el romance, siempre ha sido un género que me transmite demasiada paz y que me es demasiado fácil amar, Purple Hearts, es esa película llena de sentimientos lindos y una excelente musica que te va a sacar más de una sonrisa y que además tiene unas escenas mágicas, super recomedada para cualquier persona que le guste el romance.
Another thing I loved about this movie, was the way they showed certain realities, such as the lack of tolerance that some Latino communities have, that health is a business and that life is often quite unfair, but all this under a very romantic bubble that had me spellbound, honestly that's why I consider that this movie even helps you to lower your stress a little bit.
Now, let's go with the only aspect that I didn't like, this is that I feel that it lacked a little bit of sustenance for the plot, it's like that mini Disney effect where everything happens magically, but it's also a little predictable in certain occasions; now, did this make me not enjoy the movie? The answer is no, I still think it's an amazing movie, I was just clarifying a point that for other people may be important, this is a movie to watch with your friends or in a relaxed night.

El elenco está conformado por Sofía Carson que creo que es la que cualquiera conoce sobre todo por sus interpretaciones de Disney su personaje se lama Cassie Salazar y por otro lado tenemos al protagonista Nicholas Galitzine que es Luke en esta historia el cual también estuvo en la adaptación de la cenicienta interpretada por Camila Cabello, en otros actores que participaron están Chosen Jacobs, Kedall Chapell entre otros, aunque si bien la película se concentra es en los protagonistas no es como que si desarrollaran historias secundarias con otros personajes en sí.

Hablemos de los personajes primero, Cassie es una chica joven la cual desde un principio nos dejan en claro que tiene diabetes y en lo personal lo que me gusto d esto es que no es como que lo mencionan y pasa lo que en otras clases de películas que después ni pendiente con eso y la persona actúa de lo más normal, en si pues esta enfermedad tiene un protagonismo en la historia, por otro lado hablemos de su personalidad, me gusto. Nos dieron alguien bastante real y con descendencias latinas, es algo que me llamo la atención porque nos muestra el otro lado de la historia de las personas emigrantes de los Estados Unidos, como ella en un momento de la película dijo “En serio vives al Sur de California y no entiendes que el estado está formado gracias a los emigrantes ilegales” en si es una personaje femenina fuerte y decidida aunque a veces un poco terca y eso fue lo que me disgusto de ella a la mitad de la película como que no había entendido en que lio se estaba metiendo, pero de resto 10/10.

They gave us someone quite real and with Latino descent, is something that caught my attention because it shows us the other side of the story of migrants in the United States, as she said at one point in the film "You really live in Southern California and do not understand that the state is formed thanks to illegal immigrants" if she is a strong and determined female character but sometimes a little stubborn and that was what I disliked about her in the middle of the film as she had not understood what mess she was getting into, but otherwise 10/10.
Por otro lado Luke es ese chico bonito, o sea cando lo vi dije interiormente “lindo” su personalidad me pareció agradable no es ese típico chico Bad Boy si no en vez no dieron alguien más real, respetuoso hasta cierto punto y un buen muchacho. Cree en el amor y esas cosas, no lo enaltezco por eso pero es como que voltearon los papeles en ese aspecto aquí jejeje, se muestra vulnerable varias veces y eso lo hace ver humanos como a su vez no le dio miedo al final reconocer lo que siente por Cassie. Yo lo llegue a juzgar por su pasado y en realidad por lo que contaban se veía como malo al principio pero a pesar de todo no puedo quedar con otra imagen que no sea, nos dieron un aceptable personaje masculino.
On the other hand Luke is that cute guy, I mean when I saw him I inwardly said "cute" his personality seemed nice to me he's not that typical Bad Boy guy if not instead they didn't give someone more real, respectful to a certain extent and a good guy. He believes in love and stuff, I don't praise him for that but it's like they flipped the roles in that aspect here hehehehe, he shows himself vulnerable several times and that makes him look human as in turn he wasn't afraid in the end to acknowledge how he feels about Cassie. I came to judge him by his past and actually from what they said he looked like a bad guy at first but despite everything I can't get any other image than that, they gave us an acceptable male character.
Con respecto a la trama lo que considero malo fue que no veo muy justiciable lo del matrimonio en sí, considero que tenían otras alternativas pero vamos, no siempre se nos muestran cosas muy creíbles pero no significa que no sean muy justiciables lo otro malo es que en un intermedio de 15 minutos no sé porque pero me aburrí, lo digo porque tal vez hubiera desarrollado un poco diferente el tema de la distancia pero con los acontecimientos posteriores se te olvida, ahora vamos con lo bueno. Lo bueno para mí fue las canciones y voz de Sofía Carson me gustaron mucho, como también el hecho de la química entre los protagonista es una pareja que fácilmente podríamos querer en la vida real y es por el hecho de que no se ve nada forzada y todo se desarrolló de manera bonita y lenta a mi parecer, si hubieron momentos tristes los cuales no me hicieron llorar la verdad pero si, poner esta carita en si la película está bien, es esas de que nos muestran un trama y desarrollo decente con unos personajes bonitos, dan en si una película buena para mí es un 9/10 ahora podre puntajes, nadie me lo pidió pero quiero hacerlo. With respect to the plot what I consider bad was that I do not see very justifiable the marriage itself, I consider that they had other alternatives but come on, we are not always shown very credible things but it does not mean that they are not very justifiable the other bad thing is that in an intermission of 15 minutes I do not know why but I got bored, I say this because maybe I would have developed a little differently the theme of the distance but with the subsequent events you forget, now let's go with the good. The good thing for me was the songs and voice of Sofia Carson I liked a lot, as well as the fact that the chemistry between the protagonists is a couple that we could easily love in real life and it is for the fact that nothing is forced and everything was developed in a nice and slow way in my opinion, if there were sad moments which did not make me cry the truth but yes, put this face in if the film is fine, is those that show us a decent plot and development with some nice characters, give in if a good movie for me is a 9/10 now I can score, no one asked me but I want to do it. Best romance movie ever!! I could re-watch this movie multiple times and not get tired of it. When I first heard about the movie, the first thing that came to my mind was that this movie will be an emotional movie considering how marines or military funerals are done, but when I saw so many reviews about the movie and thought why don't I give it a try. I did and it was an amazing experience for me.
'Purple Hearts' is a movie that was adapted from a book with the same name written by Tess Wakefield, published on the 25th of April, 2017 with 320 pages. People always say that book-adapted movies are not always as good as when one reads the book first. If the movie is exceptional, how will the book turn out to be? I am so curious and I will be reading the book soon to kill my curiosity.
This movie is an American Drama/music/romance film that was released on the 29th of July, 2022 by Netflix. It was directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum who also directed movies like Pretty little liars and The residents. If you have watched the above-mentioned TV Series you would know how good Elizabeth is. The movie's screenplay was written by Liz Garcia and Kyle Jarrow. They both did an amazing job. Some of the actors are Sofia Carson, Nicholas Galitzine, Chosen Jacobs, Linden Ashby, Scott Decker, and some other notable actors that might be familiar to you.
Little Synopsis Of The Movie
The movie begins with the life of an upcoming singer/songwriter/bartender, Cassie who is struggling with life and an illness, diabetes type 1. The movie gets interesting when Cassie's childhood friend, Frankie, with his marines friends, walks into the bar where Cassie works. Surprised to see him, Cassie went into his arms when one of the marines, Luke, caught her attention after which they exchanged glances. Luke tried to charm his way to get close to Cassie but it irritated her instead.
Cassie, still battling with her illness discovers she was drowning in medical bills, rent, and other welfare bills, and decided to go talk to Frankie to marry her so that she could benefit from the health allowances given to the family of the marine. Frankie respectfully turns her down because he was already involved with another. Luke later saw this as an opportunity to settle his drug debts when he went to Cassie to convince her to marry him. Cassie agreed and they got married before Luke and fellow marines were shipped out to Iraq.
On the night of the wedding, Cassie and Luke got emotional and consummated their fake marriage. Cassie thought Luke was into her until the next morning, he pretended like nothing happened last night. The next day after the wedding, Luke was shipped out with his fellow marines to Iraq. Cassie and Luke made a promise to each other to make their fake marriage work for their benefit. While Luke was gone, Cassie continued to pursue her music career dreams with her band. Everything seems to be going well until one day, Cassie receives a call from the marines that Luke had been involved in an accident that had his legs shattered and he will be shipped back home in a few days.
How long can they keep up the fake marriage deal? How long before the truth is out in the open? Will they both be charged with fraud? You have to watch the movie to get your answers.
My Opinion About The Movie And Recommendations.
I will go straight about my opinion about the movie. First, let's talk about the Plot (storyline). The plot is an interesting one and I consider it one of the best. I love the plot so much because it has all the features of a good, hot romance story. The suspense, the chemistry, sacrifice, and love. The actors did a fantastic job with the plot.
They acted well by blending with their various given roles. For example, Cassie and Luke have this chemistry that you think is for real until you remember that you are watching a movie. Their love went from strangers to enemies, enemies to friends, and enemies to lovers. They both expressed what fictional chemistry should look like! Their chemistry made me a sucker for romance😭. I will give the screenplay writers credit for writing an intriguing script. They did well!
Let's talk about the soundtracks for the movie. All the music used in the movie was all original tracks, written and sung by Cassie herself. All the songs conveyed what the movie was about and the message embedded in the plot of the movie. I love all the songs and Intend to download them all to be added to my Playlist. The songs are all powerful and meaningful.
The director did a fantastic job with the movie. She made the movie suspense-filled and at the same time sensual with twists that keep the viewers on the edge of their seats waiting and curious about what the next scene is about. If some viewers were interviewed, I think they would all agree with me that they can't get enough of Cassie and Luke. The end was a sad and beautiful ending with a message, 'if though life offers you a lemon, you have the power to make it sweet and make your own path.
Rating this movie, it's five stars and 10 out of 10. I would recommend this movie to everyone and most especially, romance, drama, music, growth, and emotional movie lovers. I also recommend that this movie is not to be watched by teenagers from 13years below. Hurry now and watch this movie if you haven't. I am off to read the book. Hahaha.

Do you remember the time when shoes with wheels became fashionable? Well I do and more than just for seeing them everywhere, it was because I never had one haha, but it was very incredible as impact on the population to see something so excellent and novel that caused a lot of furor in consumers, the same happens with the recent Netflix movie Purple Hearts, as we all have caused a great sensation.

Pues yo sí y más que solo por verlos en todos lados, fue porque nunca tuve unos jaja, pero fue muy increíble como impacto en la población ver algo tan excelente y novedoso que causo mucho furor en los consumidores, lo mismo pasa con la reciente película de Netflix Purple Hearts, ya que a todos nos ha causado una gran sensación.
In the movie and TV community I have seen about 6 or so reviews of this movie where Sofia Carson stars, and it's just so emotional along with a good plot that makes so many people like it. It's not like other Netflix romance movies like the kissing booth that makes no sense whatsoever other than watching a girl get raped by someone who takes advantage of her. Purple Hearst has a spark that I haven't seen in a Netflix romance movie for a long time and that's why today I would also like to do a review but covering even more details that the movie shows, obviously this review contains spoilers so be warned :)

Now, going back to the review, I think this movie hit the nail right on the head, since as I said it goes beyond seeing two simple teenagers having sex, since we see with our own eyes the problems that many of us live every day, for example, debts, illnesses, economic problems or to see if my dreams come true. I will not make a description of the plot since much has been said about the plot in the community, I will only mention parts of it.
Ahora, volviendo a la reseña, pienso que esta película dio justo en el punto, ya que como dije va más allá de ver a dos simples adolescentes tenido sexo, ya que vemos con nuestros propios ojos los problemas que muchos de nosotros vivimos cada día, por ejemplo, las deudas, las enfermedades, los problemas económicos o el ver si mis sueños se cumplen. No hare una descripción de la trama ya que se ha hablado mucho de la trama en la comunidad, solo mencionare partes de ella.

For example, the movie starts with Luke and Cassie in their respective lives, Luke as a Marine in training and about to travel to Iraq and Cassie as a singing waitress who needs to raise money urgently as she needs to pay for her medicine because her life depends on it. Here comes the first plot twist, as Cassie and Luke's paths will meet to try to solve their problems as a team. Cassie is a girl who dreams of being a famous composer and being able to get money to continue paying for her medicine, since what she makes is not enough and she is in a situation where she could be left on the street, since everything she earns is used for her medicine. Luke is an ex-addict who needs to pay off a huge debt he has with a dealer, and joined the Marines to try to show his father that he can be like him and give him pride, although he is chased by the Dealer days before leaving and is threatened by him.
Por ejemplo, la película comienza con Luke y Cassie en sus respectivas vidas, Luke como un Marine en entrenamiento y apunto de viajar a Irak y Cassie como una mesera cantante que necesita reunir dinero urgentemente ya que necesita pagar su medicina porque su vida depende de eso. Aquí viene el primer giño de la trama, ya que los caminos de Cassie y Luke se encontrarán para tratar de solucionar sus problemas como haciendo un equipo. Frankie A friend of Cassie's tells her that to pay for her medicine she can marry a marine and have full insurance coverage and also get extra money, So Cassie after a lot of thinking asks her friend Frankie to marry her so that the military or government insurance will cover all her medicine (since her insurance doesn't cover all her diabetes medicine). But Frankie is thinking of marrying his girlfriend, so Luke takes his chance and talks cassie into a fake marriage so they can both benefit from a fake marriage. This is where the plot takes an interesting turn, as Luke and Cassie don't get along, but in trying to evade government investigators because the marriage was sudden, they fall in love and begin to keep a close eye on each other. But as Luke is sent to Iraq and then returns when he suffers a terrible war accident now cassie and Luke must care for each other and this is where the love and passion develops much more.
Frankie Un amigo de Cassie le dice que para paga su medicina se puede casar con un marine y tiene cobertura de seguro completa y además de obtener dinero adicional, Así que cassie luego de darle muchas vueltas pide a su amigo Frankie que se case con ella para que el seguro militar o del gobierno cubra todas sus medicinas (ya que su seguro no cubre todas las medicinas contra las diabetes). Pero Frankie está pensando casarse con su novia, así que Luke toma su oportunidad y habla con cassie para que ambos se beneficien de un matrimonio falso. Aquí es donde la trama hace un giro interesante, ya que Luke y Cassie no se la llevan bien, pero al tratar de evadir a los investigadores del gobierno porque el matrimonio fue repentino, ellos se enamoran y comienzan a estar muy pendiente uno del otro. Something I really like about this movie are the emotional moments, they really touch your heart and are not over acted, for example when Luke tells Cassie that her friend Frankie died in Iraq, it's a very emotional part, When Cassie complains to her mom because diabetes was not part of the plan, it makes you get a lump in your throat and when Luke has to help Cassie because she has not eaten anything and she gets sick is also another emotional moment, I also really like when Luke goes to visit Frankie's grave, that was the moment that stood out the most because you could see the authenticity in the character at the time of interpreting it.
Algo que me gusta mucho de esta película son los momentos emotivos, que realmente te llegan al corazón y no son sobre actuados, por ejemplo cuando Luke le dice a cassie que su amigo Frankie murió en Irak, es una parte muy emotiva, cuando cassie se queja con su mama porque la diabetes no era parte del plan se te hace un nudo en la garganta y cuando Luke tiene que ayudar a cassie porque no ha comido nada y se descompensa también es otro momento emotivo, también me gusta mucho cuando Luke va a visitar la tumba de Frankie ese fue el momento que más destaco ya que se vio la autenticidad en el personaje al momento de interpretarlo.

I would also like to highlight the transition of Luke's character from a simple rebellious boy who wants to prove something to his father to a man who stands up for those he loves, for example he confronts his dealer to stop him from threatening his family or Cassie's family, also when Luke and Cassie are about to be sentenced in the military court after they discover the fraud, you can see how Luke, already a man fully responsible for his actions, takes all the blame so Cassie's life is not ruined. Also as Cassie's character goes from being a simple waitress to a famous artist who sings in big concerts, it is very good and satisfying to see her dreams come true.
También me gustaría destacar la transición del personaje de Luke de un simple muchacho rebelde que quiere demostrarle algo a su padre a un hombre que da la cara por aquellos que ama, por ejemplo enfrenta a su dealer para que no siga amenazando a su familia o a la familia de cassie, también cuando están por dictar un sentencia para Luke y cassie en el tribunal militar luego de que descubren el fraude, se ve como Luke ya un hombre totalmente responsable de sus actos asume toda la culpa para que la vida de cassie no se vea arruinada. También como el personaje de Cassie va pasando de ser una simple camarera a ser una artista famosa y que canta en grandes conciertos, es muy bueno y satisfactorio o ver como sus sueños se cumplen.

Lastly, I am impressed that Netflix presents a love story that lasts despite adversity or strong problems, as most young love or romance movies are one-night stands and don't face problems. Instead, Cassie and Luke face problems like taking care of each other when Luke is in rehab, when Cassie suffers from diabetes Luke is there, when Cassie's mom is threatened Luke is the one who supports her, and when Luke is sent to prison Cassie goes to see him and wait for him until he gets out and that's what we see at the end when they walk on the beach together. Por último, me impresiona que Netflix presente una historia de amor que dura a pesar de las adversidades o problemas fuertes, ya que las mayorías de películas de amor joven o romance es de una sola noche y no afrontan problemas. En cambio, Cassie y Luke afrontan problema como cuidarse cuando Luke está en rehabilitación, cuando cassie sufre por la diabetes Luke esta allí, cuando amenazan a la mama de cassie Luke es quien la apoya, y cuando a Luke lo mandan a prisión cassie va a verlo y esperarlo hasta que salga y eso es lo que vemos al final cuando juntos caminan en la playa. Who says love born from chaos and pain is not real? That may be the true test. This touching romance/musical movie recently released by Netflix proves it. Occasionally, I like to stir things up a bit and watch romance. After seeing this one, I knew it was a good choice. Not because of the cast (though the director scores a good point for this), but because of the inspiring message in it.
Based on the novel of the same name by Tess Wakefield, Purple Hearts (2022) is an American romance that is centred around commitment, love and patriotism. We watch an upcoming singer/songwriter/bartender, Cassie Salazar, meet a group of young men about to deploy to Iraq and catch the attention of one of them. Being a diabetic, when her insulin prescription finishes and she realises that her insurance can not cover her medical care, an expedient and easy way out was to marry a Marine.
Luke Morrow, one of the deployed young men who is sinking in drug debt, agrees to marry Cassie to pay off his debt. For this marriage to be successful without drawing the authorities' attention, they had to fake it. Not until everything comes crashing down when Luke's legs are shattered in an IED accident. Can this couple keep up the pretence in the face of problems around them?

Review
If there is the only thing I can applaud about this inspiring movie is the chemistry between Luke (played by Nicholas Galitzine) and Cassie (played by the lovely Sofia Carson). They are believable, sweet and perfect as a couple. I could almost believe their love is real then I blink and remember that I'm watching a movie!
Each scene is captivating, picturesque, and has no dull moment. Unlike some romances, the couple did not fall in love on a whim or at first sight. I love how gradual it was —from instant dislike to friends and then love. The little things that add up to convince the couple that they loved each other are borne from their crisis and chaos around them.
This movie is beautiful and heartwarming. The storyline was satisfactorily concluded in a realistic way especially the part where Luke goes ahead to serve jail sentence for fraud even though Cassie confesses before those who mattered that their marriage and love is real. Some other movie might find a way to make Luke skip the consequences of his action but life does not work like that.
I enjoyed the soundtracks. Being a pop singer, Cassie sang the songs with her heart. I understand she wrote the lyrics to some of the songs. I commend the director for interluding the storyline with stage performances by Cassie.
Some people may not like this movie because of the genre, but I adore it and rate it 4 stars out of 5. It helped me understand how the military works in the U.S. I highly recommend it.

En ocasiones somos tan retóricos y a la misma vez tan mecánicos para la verdad o lo real.
PPeople live thinking about how we can pay the bills, how we can manage to keep our comfort and our bank accounts up to date, and this is not really important, it is that money can be achieved with the hands and with work, but what is really important can not be made palpable with it. Sometimes we are so rhetorical and at the same time so mechanical for the truth or the real.
¿Diabetes? ¿Deudas? Mandemos al carajo todo por una vez y seamos razonables, irónico, a veces me siento en un ciclo, sin embargo, esto es una posición que se puede ver o comprender en un film extraño, uno que llega y que hace ver que puede existir cierta simpleza en las cosas. Human beings are strange, sometimes we want to be with someone who makes us laugh or indeed who we can trust. Can we reveal secrets? With whom? It doesn't matter with whom, what matters is that there is that which is truly true.
Soy un hombre que detesta la perfección, soy uno que piensa que simplemente las cosas se deben hacer y afrontar con veracidad, es que nuestras propias acciones son las que se pueden ver en esta mezcla extraña como pasional de este film.
I am a man who detests perfection, I am one who thinks that things should simply be done and faced with truthfulness, it is our own actions that can be seen in this strange and passionate mix of this film.

Al parecer un marine lo puede solucionar todo.

A modo de ver, nunca algo que se obtenga rápido tendrá un punto positivo, más bien siempre atrae una consecuencia y muy grave.
Always the easy solutions and deception can be a feasible answer to moments of crisis or human misery, but at the same time, they can be our personal answers to our own subsistence channels as such. Una de las visualizaciones más sorprendentes que puede ver son: La guerra en un film de romance, por alguna razón se siente la emoción de la identidad nacional, pero a la misma vez los credos erráticos de una nación que se segrega así misma por el lugar en donde naciste o los rasgos que definen tu género. ¿Igualdad o equidad? Lo dejo a criterio de cada quien, la película, en una parte me dio mucha risa, Luke le dijo a Cassie una palabra muy ideológica y marcada en Latinoamérica, aunque ella no lo negó, se ve lo marcado debido a los intereses de ella en sus acciones, algo que es muy opuesto a tal ideología.

Otra escena que me fascinó en esta producción es cuando Cassie llamó y canto a los marines, la piel se eriza, y te hace sentir el alma o esencia de ese momento en donde seres humanos están devastados, pero con una simple canción el ánimo florece como un manantial.

En la película hubo una escena que no me gustó y es cuando un marine habla de matanza, esto es algo que se visualiza como un estigma, y deja un rencor marcado. La cuestión es que eso desprende una discusión entre los protagonistas y deja en concernientes sus posiciones referentes a las pasiones que sienten hacia EEUU, una en donde le aman y otra en donde se deplora el sistema. La consonancia de esto es irreal, odio el sistema, pero vivo en él.
In the movie there was a scene that I did not like and it is when a marine talks about killing, this is something that is visualized as a stigma, and leaves a marked resentment. Otro punto que te deja reflexionando es la realidad médica en estados unidos, y el problema con el seguro social y sus coberturas para alguien como Cassie, es duro enfrentar la realidad sola de su enfermedad, y por ello ve más fácil asociarse con Luke para aprovecharse de una forma factible o rápida de los recursos estatales y obtener acceso a las medicinas y la ayuda económica de vivienda de los militares o marines.
Another point that leaves you pondering is the medical reality in the United States, and the problem with social security and its coverage for someone like Cassie, it is hard to face the reality of her illness alone, and therefore she finds it easier to partner with Luke to take advantage of state resources in a feasible or quick way and get access to medicines and financial housing assistance from the military or marines.

No diré que es una producción maravillosa, no obstante, los mensajes y la trama que poseen te envuelven en todos los sentidos.
Nothing in this life is easy, nothing is obtained unexpectedly, rather everything depends on what we do as thinking and rational beings. This movie may look like a movie for teenagers, but it is consumable because of the criteria they have. I will not say that it is a wonderful production, however, the messages and the plot they possess involve you in every way.
Ambas realidades, ambas experiencias y ambas formas de pensar de los dos personajes ayuda a entender que lo importante es lo que nace del alma y cuando se quiere a alguien de verdad. Incluso se ve como un romance extraño, es la inspiración de Cassie para cantar cada canción.

Últimamente vengo en una racha de encontrar películas o series románticas que me enamoran por completo, sin embargo también es cierto que de esos casos hay muchísimos otros que se vuelven sumamente aburridos para mí, y eso que amo el género romántico, aún así ese no es el caso del día de hoy 🤣, desde el momento en que vi el tráiler de ésta película hace unas semanas quedé completamente enganchada, y de hecho marqué la notificación en Netflix para que me avisara de su estreno, asi que en ésta publicación les contaré un poco acerca de mi opinión y como he vuelto a creer en el género de romance 🥺.
Lately I've been on a streak of finding romantic movies or series that I completely fall in love with, however it is also true that of those cases there are many others that become extremely boring for me, and I love the romantic genre, yet that is not the case today 🤣, from the moment I saw the trailer of this movie a few weeks ago I was completely hooked, and in fact I marked the notification on Netflix to let me know of its release, so in this post I'll tell you a little about my opinion and how I've come back to believe in the romance genre 🥺.
Estrenada el 29 de Julio de 2022 por la plataforma de Netflix, este drama romántico cuenta la historia de una aspirante a cantante y un marine que deciden casarse por conveniencia. Cassie (Sofia Carson) y Luke (Nicholas Galitzine) se odian desde el primer momento en que se conocen, sin embargo circunstancias particulares de ambos los llevan a tomar la decisión de casarse por conveniencia, y aunque al principio toda su relación era fingida, luego de un trágico accidente de guerra que deja a Luke en estado de rehabilitación y cuidados, todo cambia y lo que antes era falso ahora comienza a transformarse.
Premiering on July 29, 2022 on the Netflix platform, this romantic drama tells the story of an aspiring singer and a Marine who decide to marry for convenience. Cassie (Sofia Carson) and Luke (Nicholas Galitzine) hate each other from the first moment they meet, however, their particular circumstances lead them to make the decision to marry for convenience, and although at first their relationship was all pretend, after a tragic war accident that leaves Luke in a state of rehabilitation and care, everything changes and what was once fake now begins to transform.
Como la mayoría de las películas románticas, Corazones Malheridos está llena de clichés, comenzando por mi favorito el Enemies to Lover, la relación falsa e incluso el de “solo hay una cama”, sin embargo esto no hace que la película sea aburrida, y es que aunque desde el inicio sabemos cómo acabara todo (porque es una película romántica) todo lo que es el camino para llegar ahí es lo que hace la película tan entretenida. Tanto Luke como Cassie tienen un gran desarrollo a lo largo de la historia, al inicio nos presentan a unos personajes bastante enraizados en lo que se refiere a sus creencias y formas de ver la vida, se podría decir que resultan ser bastante opuestos y esto es justamente lo que hace que desde el principio se odien.
Like most romantic films, Wounded Hearts is full of clichés, starting with my favourite Enemies to Lover, the fake relationship and even the "there's only one bed", however this doesn't make the film boring, and although from the start we know how it will end (because it's a romantic film) it's the journey to get there that makes the film so entertaining. Both Luke and Cassie have a great development throughout the story, at the beginning we are introduced to characters who are quite rooted in their beliefs and ways of seeing life, you could say that they are quite opposite and this is exactly what makes them hate each other from the beginning.
No obstante, y esto fue algo que me gusto bastante de toda la trama, ambos personajes logran flexibilizarse a medida que la historia transcurre pero sin perder la esencia o el eje central de quienes son, y eso la verdad me pareció algo bastante real, siento que así es como debe ser el desarrollo de un personaje y no uno en donde cambien por completo la postura inicial de la persona. Me pareció interesante el elemento añadido de la diabetes (esto no es spoiler, desde el tráiler aparece), porque si bien es cierto en otras películas no han presentado protagonistas con enfermedades, la mayoría de las veces son enfermedades terminales y no condiciones médicas como las diabetes, que además es más común de lo que parece, sin embargo siento que a este elemento le dieron importancia en el inicio de la película y ya luego como que se les olvido un poco, a mí personalmente si me hizo falta que profundizaran un poquito más en este tema, de hecho nunca nos enteramos a que edad la diagnostican y eso fácilmente se pudo colar en una conversación entre Luke y Cassie.
However, and this was something that I liked a lot about the whole plot, both characters manage to become more flexible as the story unfolds but without losing the essence or the central axis of who they are, and that actually seemed quite real to me, I feel that this is how the development of a character should be and not one where they completely change the initial position of the person. I found the added element of diabetes interesting (this is not a spoiler, it appears from the trailer), because while it is true that other films have not featured protagonists with diseases, most of the time they are terminal illnesses and not medical conditions such as diabetes, which is also more common than it seems, However, I feel that this element was given importance at the beginning of the film and then they kind of forgot about it a bit, to me personally I felt that they needed to go a little deeper into this issue, in fact we never find out at what age she was diagnosed and that could have easily slipped into a conversation between Luke and Cassie.
También me hizo un poquito de falta que ahondaran más en las relaciones familiares, no obstante entiendo que la intención de la trama es centrarse la mayor parte del tiempo en los protagonistas, por eso aunque si me hizo falta, tampoco era indispensable para mí, al menos no como sí lo era el tema de la diabetes. Aun así la película se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas, últimamente veo que el género romántico se ha vuelto demasiado predecible al punto de volverse tedioso e ver incluso para alguien que ama el género, así que cuando vi esta película sentí como un aire fresco y de verdad lo agradezco. Aspectos que me gustaría resaltar mucho, el soundtrack es uno de ellos pero realmente no podemos esperar menos teniendo en cuenta que Sofía Carson es quien los interpreta, el ritmo de la película me pareció sumamente acorde y paleta de colores tan sobria y delicada, realmente fueron aspectos que le sumaron muchísimo a la trama.
I also missed a little bit that they delved more into the family relationships, however I understand that the intention of the plot is to focus most of the time on the main characters, so although I did miss it, it was not indispensable for me, at least not as much as the diabetes theme was. Even so the film has become one of my favourites, lately I see that the romance genre has become too predictable to the point of becoming tedious to watch even for someone who loves the genre, so when I saw this film I felt like a breath of fresh air and I really appreciate it. Aspects that I would like to highlight a lot, the soundtrack is one of them but really we can not expect less considering that Sofia Carson is the one who plays them, the pace of the film seemed to me extremely consistent and colour palette so sober and delicate, really were aspects that added a lot to the plot.
Y ésta ha sido mi opinión 👏🏻, de verdad quedé encantada con ésta película de hecho fácilmente podría verla varias veces y volver a emocionarme como la primera vez, algo que no mencioné al inicio es que la historia está basada en el libro de homónimo de Tess Wakefield, y puesto que no he leído el libro no puedo decir si la historia está fielmente adaptada o no. Un elemento extra que me encantó ver, fue la perrita 😍😍, amo cuando incluyen mascotas en las historias, es un paquete completo para mi 🥺🥺.
And this has been my opinion 👏🏻, I really loved this movie in fact I could easily watch it several times and get as excited as the first time, something I didn't mention at the beginning is that the story is based on the book of the same name by Tess Wakefield, and since I haven't read the book I can't say if the story is faithfully adapted or not. One extra element I loved seeing, was the little dog 😍😍, I love when they include pets in stories, it's a complete package for me 🥺🥺.
Esta película me dejo con un sabor agridulce en la boca, pues es bastante buena en algunos aspectos, pero bastante mala en otros, y desafortunadamente lo bueno y lo malo no alcanzan a equilibrarse entre si, es bastante triste porque al ver que estaba protagonizada por Sofia Carson (Descendientes) y Nicholas Galitzine (Cenicienta) me emocione bastante, ya que son dos jóvenes muy talentosos que iban a estar dirigidos por Elizabeth Allen quien ha hecho películas para jóvenes que son bastante entretenidas como Aquamarine y dirigió algunos capítulos de The Vampire Diaries y Gossip girl.
This movie left me with a bittersweet taste in my mouth, because it is quite good in some aspects, but quite bad in others, and unfortunately the good and the bad do not reach to balance each other, it is quite sad because when I saw that it was starring Sofia Carson (Descendants) and Nicholas Galitzine (Cinderella) I was quite excited, since they are two very talented young people who were going to be directed by Elizabeth Allen who has made movies for young people that are quite entertaining like Aquamarine and directed some episodes of The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl.
La película nos cuenta la historia de Luke y Cassandra, quienes son como el agua y el aceite, pero al necesitar dinero por diferentes circunstancias, uno por deudas y la otra por su salud, deciden hacer un pacto para casarse y acceder a los beneficios de los marine,cuerpo militar del cual él forma parte. La película con la enfermedad de Cassie (diabetes tipo 1) abarca un tema social bastante importante: el no tener acceso a una seguridad social buena, en donde los enfermos crónicos si no cuentan con los recursos para su medicación se enfrentan a vivir con escasa calidad de vida o la muerte. Del mismo modo, cuando Luke es desplegado a Irak tenemos una mirada de como es la vida de los militares en servicio, que no es precisamente dulce, no solo están lejos de sus familias, sino que al mismo tiempo arriesgan sus vidas y lidiando con sus heridas y el duelo que les genera el perder sus compañeros e incluso algunas de las acciones que realizan. La parte que sufren las familias la vemos reflejada en todo lo que atraviesa Cassie mientras el esta lejos.
La película también abarca un poco el tema de la tolerancia, ya que nuestros protagonistas son personas con convicciones e ideologías, muy opuestas, pero en la medida que van entendiendo los motivos y las razones del otro, esto hace que se vuelvan mas cercanos e incluso da pie para que se enamoren y AME que incluyeran la relevancia y papel de las mascotas en la recuperación de enfermedades.
The film tells the story of Luke and Cassandra, who are like oil and water, but needing money for different circumstances, one for debts and the other for his health, they decide to make a pact to get married and access the benefits of the Marine Corps, of which he is a member. The movie with Cassie's illness (type 1 diabetes) covers a very important social issue: not having access to good social security, where chronically ill people, if they do not have the resources for their medication, face a poor quality of life or death. Similarly, when Luke is deployed to Iraq we get a glimpse of what life is like for the military in service, which is not exactly sweet, not only are they far from their families, but at the same time they are risking their lives and dealing with their wounds and the grief that comes from losing their comrades and even some of the actions they perform. The part that the families suffer is reflected in all that Cassie goes through while he is away.The film also covers a bit the theme of tolerance, as our protagonists are people with very opposite convictions and ideologies, but as they understand each other's motives and reasons, they become closer and even fall in love and I LOVED that they included the relevance and role of pets in the recovery from illnesses.
Dentro de las cosas que no me gustaron esta principalmente la falta de química de los protagonistas, se que es una historia de "enemigos a amantes" pero siento que los actores carecen de química y algunas escenas se sienten algo forzadas. También tenemos demasiadas escenas de canto de Cassie, se que es cantante y la voz de Sofia Carson es bonita, pero son muchas y resultan siento innecesaria; Asimismo, siento que algunas secuencias o como se contaron algunas partes de la historia dan lugar a un poco de confusión como el incidente con Johnno y por ultimo, algunos de los diálogos dejan bastante que desear.
"Corazones malheridos" es una película que tiene algunos (bastantes) defectos de producción pero que a pesar de eso logra transmitirnos mensajes tanto de amor como de diferentes temas sociales que son bastante importantes. Recomiendo verla, le doy un 3/5
Among the things I did not like is mainly the lack of chemistry of the main characters, I know it is a story of "enemies to lovers" but I feel that the actors lack chemistry and some scenes feel somewhat forced. We also have too many scenes of Cassie singing, I know she is a singer and Sofia Carson's voice is nice, but there are too many and they feel unnecessary; I also feel that some sequences or how some parts of the story were told give rise to some confusion like the incident with Johnno and lastly, some of the dialogues leave a lot to be desired.
"Purple Hearts" is a film that has some (quite a few) production flaws but despite that it manages to convey messages of both love and different social issues that are quite important. I recommend watching it, I give it a 3/5

Siento que Netflix tenía tiempo sin sacar una película romántica genial, esta película es la adaptación de un libro y esa es otra cosa yo no sabía que tenía libro, me enteré cuando la ví y hasta el momento el libro solamente se encuentra en inglés pero muchas lectoras están emocionadas por la buena adaptación, yo por otra parte tendré que esperar a tener el libro en español para llorar también y comparar el libro con la película, ahora les contaré de qué trata y les daré mi opinión.

Cassie y Luke son las personas más diferentes que existen, Cassie trabaja en un bar y mientras lo hace persigue su sueño de convertirse en una famosa cantante, mientras que Luke es un marine que está a punto de embarcarse para el servicio militar. No les voy a mentir esta película me sorprendió en muchos aspectos, por ejemplo que Cassie tuviese ideales y pensamientos fuertes y no se olvidara de ellos tan fácilmente es algo que me encanto, la madurez que tenía al saber que su mamá era su prioridad número 1 pero luchaba por sus sueños constante es increíble, porque hemos visto cómo en muchas películas la o el protagonista dejan sus sueños de lado para dedicarse únicamente a sus padres, pero este personaje tenía prioridades claras, sabía que tenía una responsabilidad con su mamá pero también con ella misma y eso fue simplemente grandioso, esa forma de amar a su madre y a ella misma de manera balanceada correctamente es un signo de madurez y responsabilidad, 10/10.
I am not going to lie to you, this movie surprised me in many aspects, for example that Cassie had ideals and strong thoughts and did not forget about them so easily is something that I loved, the maturity she had knowing that her mother was her number 1 priority but he constantly fought for his dreams, it is incredible, because we have seen how in many films the protagonist leaves his dreams aside to dedicate himself only to his parents, but this character had clear priorities, he knew that he had a responsibility with his mother but also with herself and that was just great, that way of loving her mother and herself in a right balanced way is a sign of maturity and responsibility, 10/10.
Algo que me encantó de esta película también, es como Luke se enfrentó y salió del momento más difícil de su vida porque quería una vida mejor, el hecho de que esté personaje tuviese responsabilidad afectiva, fuese respetuoso pero también con carácter es fascinante y combinado con Cassie es gracioso de ver porque ambos son tan distintos que chocan en muchas opiniones, pero ellos logran convivir de manera sana y sacar de su situación una gran amistad, honestamente está película se merece un 100/10.
Something that I loved about this movie too, is how Luke faced and came out of the most difficult moment of his life because he wanted a better life, the fact that this character had emotional responsibility, was respectful but also with character is fascinating and combined with Cassie is funny to watch because both are so different that they clash in many opinions, but they manage to live together in a healthy way and get a great friendship out of their situation, honestly this movie deserves a 100/10.

Está historia se puede considerar un enemy to lovers pero sin la parte tóxica que siempre resalta en este género, porque estos personajes no se caían bien pero no eran agresivos y eso es genial porque es demasiado tedioso romantizar que todos se maltraten físicamente o psicológicamente.

Todos los personajes son buenísimos no solo los protagonistas, los amigos son geniales, unos son tan espectaculares que te llena el corazón de felicidad, aunque hay uno en específico que cumplió el objetivo de caer mal desde el principio por su actitud irrespetuosa pero ese era su papel y realmente lo hizo 10/10 porque se vio demasiado natural, tanto así que mientras hablaba daban ganas de cachetearlo.

Sin más que agregar amigos realmente es una película que vale la pena verla, es muy hermosa, se las recomiendo con los ojos cerrados.
