  1. Hitman ans Bodyguard's Review - RyanReynoldsChallenge (40/50)@ykretz851d

  2. CineTV Contest #92: The Hitman's Bodyguard—My Favourite Samuel L. Jackson's Movie@kemmyb906d

    IMG_20240104_170034.jpg divider curl .webp

Samuel L. Jackson got my attention as a kid when I watched him play the part of a robber in Coming To America and I found the scene very funny because he was brought down with a mopstick! The next time I would see this movie icon was in the legal drama, A Time to Kill and since then, I've always looked forward to seeing him on my screen.

Once I saw this week's CineTV Contest, I knew I had to participate so I can rave about one of my favourite actors.

Samuel L. Jackson is one of the best actors of our time and I'm not surprised that he's named as one of the richest. In all his movies (except when the script isn't well written), he embodies his character so impressively that you'll almost believe he's that person in real life. An actor who does that and evokes strong reactions (good or bad) from the audience is par excellence, in my opinion.

I've seen this actor in action as a detective, mentally unstable person, a master spy in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D., a racist plantation manager, a serial killer, a bounty hunter, a shapeshifter, a hitman and many more. Most often, he plays the villain role and does it so well. I enjoyed seeing him play the protagonist/leadership role as a master spy in The Avengers films but he didn't get more action-packed scenes like he would if he was the villain.

One of my favourite films featuring Samuel L. Jackson is an action comedy. The day I saw The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017), I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt. What makes this movie standout for me is that it also features another of my favourites, Ryan Reynolds. Once I saw the trailer and saw these two actors in it, I knew it was going to be a delightful rollercoaster of laughs, action and fun.

    _____

The movie turned out better than I expected. Isn't it an irony that a cold and calculating hitman would need the services of a private bodyguard to thwart the schemes of a wicked dictator?

Jackson plays the role of a hitman under FBI's strict protection, scheduled to testify at the International Criminal Court against a wicked dictator who had killed many people. His life is in danger and the only person capable of ensuring his safe arrival at the court is a private bodyguard, Michael Bryce (played by Ryan Reynolds).

The plot of this film connects these two main characters together even before they meet face to face. There's a lurking malice between them but circumstances of the job force them to let go of the past and work together. After all, their lives are on the line. Their bromance is the best I've seen so far in a movie. I wasn't surprised when the filmmakers pursued and released a sequel, Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021).

Singly, Jackson and Reynolds are hilarious. Now imagine putting the two of them together in a movie. Their roles in this film complement each other well. Jackson is smart, intelligent and fast as a ruthless hitman should be. And he's also good with guns. Reynolds, on the other hand, is smart too but there are times he can't get past Jackson's character.

The scene I find most hilarious is where Jackson gets into their getaway car and tells Reynolds to put on his seatbelt but he doesn't. They're arguing and get into a car chase. Along the way, Jackson stops abruptly and Reynolds literally flies out through the windscreen to the ground! I'm not sure if that's realistic but it's absolutely rib-cracking.

I enjoy how they pull together their resources, intelligence and experience to overcome every hurdle that the wicked dictator placed on their paths to ensure they don't make it to The Hague and there's no incriminating testimony against him. The ending scene is captivating and action packed! I applaud Jackson's performance in it. His character change is impressive. He goes from being an unfeeling, reckless hitman who dislikes Reynolds’ character to an understanding and almost empathic person who befriends him.

The Hitman's Bodyguard is a delightful and action-packed movie that is worth watching. However due to language and violence, children aren't allowed to see it. If you've seen this film, let me know your thoughts on it.

    [Source](https://i0-wp-com.cdn.ampproject.org/i/s/i0.wp.com/jasonsmovieblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/the-hitmans-bodyguard-banner.jpg?fit=860%2C456&ssl=1)

Hello friends, how are you doing? I hope you have a lovely day. I’m here with another interesting movie I came across on Netflix, titled Hitman bodyguard.

The movie is about two men that's good with gun's, but they use it in different ways, well, the bodyguard was offered a job to escort a brutal assassin to testify in court.

It all Begin as a successful private bodyguard lost is career as his client was assassinated on his watch when escorting to a safe place.

His career was ruined because nobody wanted him to protect them due to the incident with his client, and he put the blame on his wife, who's a special Interpol agent.

Meanwhile, the vicious dictator of Belarus is on trial for crimes against humanity at the international criminal Court. Unable to find solid evidence against him, the prosecution's last hope is an incarcerated hitman.

Meanwhile, He agrees to testify against the man in exchange for the release of his wife from prison, but with a treacherous Interpol assistant director, they successfully ambush the convoy as it passes through Coventry and kill most of the security team.

The Interpol team leader and the hitman eventually escaped the ambush and decided to move him to a safe house in the city.

After realizing that the agency cannot be entrusted with the mission due to a possible leak, she enlists the help of the bodyguard, her ex, to escort and protect the hitman on the way to the court.

The movie gets interesting as the hitman reveals to the bodyguard that he was the one who killed his client after he spotted him by chance while on another job, causing an outraged bodyguard to abandon him.

Do you think he can survive without the bodyguard protection? Is the bodyguard going to escort him after finding out that he was the one behind his ruined career.

Furthermore, After reconciling their differences, he decides to escort the hitman to court due to a promise made by his ex-wife to get his career back for him.

A lot of money has been paid to eliminate the hitman in others not appear in court. Check out what happened next on Netflix after the bodyguard embark to escort him to court to testify.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my post.

  4. The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)@sheikhshaon1206d

Hello Action Pemi movie lover friends, how are you all? Today I will share with you an interesting, mysterious and wonderful action movie. Each country's president is unique. Some are honest, brave and righteous while others are extremely cruel killers and wrongdoers. As a result, we see more or less excellent movies with all kinds of presidents, good and bad.

The point is that if the president of a country is good, then the country and the people of the country can live happily and peacefully, and if the president of a country is bad, then the country and the people of the country can never live. After which it can be seen that the people of the country are being brutally killed by a dictator-type president. However, when the power of such a dictator type of man becomes a danger to the people, then the brutal president can be extraordinarily punished through various acts of courage. The bottom line is that the other party's defeat is sure to happen, sooner or later.

Likewise today we will witness the spectacular downfall of a dictator-type brutal and murderous president. The downfall of wrongdoing is through a wrongdoer, which we will see very well today. Let us introduce you to today's excellent action movie.

Who played important roles in the movie:

As the main character in the movie, we first see Ryan Reynolds as Michael Bryce, an extraordinary private security officer chief and CIA agent. Also we get to see another amazing action hero Samuel L. Jackson as the amazing hitman. Also, those who acted in excellent roles are Gary Oldman as Vladislav Dukhovich, Salma Hayek as Sonia Kincaid, Élodie Yung as Amelia Roussel, Joaquim de Almeida as Jean Foucher and Sam Hazeldine as Garrett.

    [IMAGE](https://youthassistingyouth.com/activity/aug-16-movie-screening-hitmans-bodyguard/)

    Movie Review:

In the movie we first see our protagonist as a CIA agent and head of a private security firm. Unfortunately, Michael is unable to save the life of one of his clients, so his security company is closed and he is living off a small bodyguard job. Michael's private company is closed for not being able to save his life, who is the killer?

On the other hand, a dictator in Belarus killed a professor's family for writing about the assassination of the president, which led to the professor demanding trial by testifying against the president in court, and the court gave 7 days to produce appropriate evidence. People of Belarus will get a new president if they can prove against Presint.

In order to save the country and its people from a murderous and ruthless president, members of Interpol ask a trusted hitman of the president to testify in court with evidence and promise to free his wife. As a result, the president's thugs kill all the soldiers when they try to sneak Kevin through the poor security to the court, but Kevin escapes with Amelia, a lady Interpol officer.

It is then revealed that someone within Interpol is working as a spy for the President, so Amelia is supposed to take Michael safely to court as Kevin's bodyguard and then Michael's private security company will be reactivated. However, Kevin and Michael are seen trying to kill each other, as Kevin has failed to kill Michael many times before.

However, Michael manages to fight his way to court, and after all the evidence is presented to the court, the president tries to escape through a terrorist attack, eventually dying at the hands of Kevin, and a tyrannical government falls.

    Comment:

I like the story, the action, the excellent acting of the main characters and the amazing defeat of injustice. I liked the movie a lot, hope you will like it too.

Thank you all for taking the time to read about this interesting movie. Be well, be healthy, love the country and the people of the country.

  5. The Hitman's Bodyguard (film): Honesly, much better than i thought it would be@gooddream2877d

I watched this film and paid money to do so the last time i was in Singapore only to discover that it was available on my international flight back to Thailand for free on the plane. At that particular point in my life it was the only film i had seen in theaters for years. I chose it for all the wrong reasons: I recognized 2 people on the poster. However, with the access that people have to just about everything online these days I don't suppose that choice is all too uncommon.

    The-Hitmans-Bodyguard-2017-movie-poster.jpg

It's an action-comedy film. An all too common one as well i suppose and if i was on board to be involved with this thing i would have likely not wanted to be. However, the movie made more than 100 million dollars so well, that's a success.

Ryan Reynolds plays Michael Bryce, a guy that somehow has the skillset and reputation to be hired to protect high-profile clients as they move around the world. Sam Jackson is Darius Kincaid, who is an aging assassin who well, does the opposite of that. They end up teaming up because: stuff. It doesn't really matter. I mean honestly the storyline is dumb but that doesn't change the fact that the movie is fun and worth seeing.

    maxresdefault1.jpg

Basically, Michael Bryce gets hired in a roundabout way to protect Darius Kincaid from people that are trying to kill him. They are both really lethal so of course they butt heads and both of them end up being wrong or right throughout the various scenarios they find themselves in.

It should come as no surprise that at first they really don't want to work together but eventually they end up being pals. At least, i wasn't surprised because there really wasn't anywhere else for that film to go.

Hitmans-Bodyguard-nuns.jpg I bet it was really fun to be an extra in this scene

The movie was great because it stayed fun throughout despite the fact that we are relatively sure what is going to happen once the two of them get teamed up. It seems as though (at least in USA) that we are focused more on individual scenes than we are in the overall story. I don't necessarily like this idea but I also realize that the ultimate objective of any movie studio is to make money, not to make art.

This movie is money. It sure as s**t isn't art.

That being said i think that if you are in the mood for some laughs as well as some kick-ass action, you could do worst than The Hitman's Bodyguard.

  6. The Hitman's Bodyguard 4k HDR - 8/10@evoman13055d

    hitman4.0.jpg

There's not a ton to say about this movie. It's pretty much nonstop action which is just about it's only redeeming quality. The 4k HDR isn't really up to snuff. The plot is a little hard to swallow. The acting is.....not the best. There were a couple slightly funny moments and a heaping pile of "mother-fuckers" from Samuel L Jackson, but I'm not sure this one will ever get a replay. Maybe give it a go if it's offered on one of your already pre-paid subscription services, but hardly worth owning the physical copy.

  7. Insomniac Film Festival #13: The Hitman’s Bodyguard@rvgenaille3080d

240EC454-7FE3-4E05-B34C-F46BAEDF5127.jpeg The Hitman’s Bodyguard came out in 2017, starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, and I missed it because I could not afford to go at the time and then it left theatres when I before I could. I also delayed seeing it when I came out on DVD and VOD because just did not look all that great to be honest.

I was wrong though. Having just watched it this evening. I can’t say that I should have made the effort to see it much earlier. It is your standard buddy action comedy but Reynolds and Jackson are a hilarious, charismatic team and the story moves along quickly, the action intense and the show is funny. I was quite taken by the story as a whole.

Gary Oldman plays the dictatorial president of Belarus, who is on trial at the international criminal court. Jackson’s Kincaid is a hitman who is testifying against him in exchange for his wife’s freedom. En route, Kincaid is attacked by Oldman’s crew. His Interpol handler contacts Reynolds’ Bryce to have him deliver Jackson’s character to The Hague. Kincaid and Bryce know each other and do not get along. Hijinks ensue.

    The Good...

    9C2D4F0D-2394-4C8B-A423-FBCD8B79B914.jpeg

Reynolds and Jackson have great chemistry together. Their repartee is great.

The women in their lives, Elodie Yung, as Amelia Roussel, and Salma Hayek, as Sonia Kincaid, are strong characters with their own agency and action.

The action was fun, kind of original, and never boring.

Like I said above, this move pretty quickly and I really enjoyed it.

    The Not So Good...

Didn’t much care for Oldman’s rote “I’m-so-Evil” bad guy.

As well, when one character actor showed up on screen, you know immediately who the turncoat in Interpol was going to be.

Well worth the watch. I really enjoyed it.

There's bromance in 'The Hitman's Bodyguard': Ryan Reynolds

Los Angeles, Aug 10 (IANS) Actor Ryan Reynolds, who will soon be seen in "The Hitman's Bodyguard" with Samuel L. Jackson, says there are several love stories and even 'bromance' in the film.

The action adventure revolves around a relentless bodyguard and a manipulative assassin, usually pitted against each other, compelled to spend 24 hours. They are forced to work together to defeat a callous and horrid eastern European dictator.

"I love the bond between Bryce and Kincaid. These two guys couldn't be more polarised but as we move through the story they start to acquire begrudging love and respect for each other. There's a bromance and several love stories all wrapped up in this incredible, crazy action story," said Reynolds in a statement given by the production house, Millennium Films and Cristal Pictures.

"The Hitman's Bodyguard" will be released in approximately 1,000 screens across India in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu.

"Ryan and I go on a crazy fun jaunt through Europe -- and it's full of chaos and humour between two characters who have a very unusual chemistry," said Jackson.

The film will release in India on August 25.
