Four months later, I finally sat down to watch this story I'd been meaning to see. May is known as Star Wars month, especially the 4th, but historically, it's the month chosen to release the films in theaters. It's unacceptable that a fan like me of this universe took so long, but the truth is, I kept putting off watching this film until I just couldn't anymore. The last Star Wars episodes were truly a failure; they didn't have, and still don't have, the sustained support of fans. Why? Script, characters, story—a mix of everything. That changed with the arrival of certain series, including The Mandalorian (Ahsoka could also be included). The connection between Mando and Grogu is so strong that they decided to make this film, which greatly enhances that relationship, and which, for me, was a success.

Cuatro meses después finalmente me senté a ver esta historia la cual tenía pendiente. Mayo es conocido por ser el mes de Star Wars, sobretodo el día 4, pero históricamente es ese mes el que se escoge para lanzar al cine sus películas. Es inaceptable que un fanático como yo de este universo haya tardado tanto pero la realidad es que siempre posponía ver este film hasta que ya no más. Los últimos episodios de Star Wars fueron realmente un fracaso, no contaron ni cuentan con el apoyo prolongado en el tiempo de los fanáticos, por qué? - guion, personajes, historia, una mezcla de todo. Eso cambia con la llegada de ciertas series, entre ellas The Mandalorian, (Ahsoka también se puede incluir). Es tal la conexión que hay entre Mando y Grogu que decidieron hacer esta película la cual alimenta muchísimo más esa relación y la que para mi fue un acierto.

One of the things people "complain" about is that this film is like an episode with a bigger budget and higher production values. I mean, what else could a movie about these two be if not about them as bounty hunters? Mind you, they're not entirely wrong, but at least for me, it didn't bother me at all. In this story, we have Din Djarin alongside Grogu, who is practically his son after he chose him over the lightsaber Luke Skywalker offered him at the end of season two, in a plot that involves hunting down figures connected to the fallen Empire. Despite this, there are still some Imperial warlords out there who refuse to surrender, and this is where the New Republic and Mando as its enforcer come in.

Una de las cosas que la gente "reclama" es que este film es una especie de capitulo pero con un poco más presupuesto y producción. A ver, de que otra cosa pudiera ser una película de ellos dos si no es verlos de cazarrecompensas?. Ojo, no es que no tengan razón pero, por lo menos a mi, eso no me molestó en lo absoluto. En esta historia tenemos a Din Djarin junto con Grogu, quien ya es prácticamente su hijo después de que él lo escogiera por sobre el laser de luz que le ofreció Luke Skywalker al final de la segunda temporada, en una trama que involucra cazar a personajes relacionados con el Imperio ya caído. A pesar de eso todavía quedan por allí ciertos señores imperiales de la guerra que se niegan a rendirse y es acá en donde entra La Nueva Republica y Mando como brazo ejecutor.

But of course, to reach them, you have to make deals with even the most undesirable, and by that I mean the Hutts, the family and descendants of the now-deceased Jabba the Hutt. Things get complicated here because Mando will ultimately have to work indirectly for them, searching for Rotta, Jabba's son, who has disappeared. From this moment on, the adventures and action begin for this pair who seem to never have a moment's peace; everything gets complicated for them. Overall, the film is incredible because it has a little bit of everything: things for old-school fans, many nods to the franchise; we see Mando as the protagonist, Grogu as the protagonist, the two working together, and plenty of action. I think they managed to make a film that will appeal to all generations of Star Wars fans. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I see many things that hark back to the franchise's golden age.

Pero claro, para llegar a ellos hay que hacer tratos hasta con los más indeseables y con esto me refiero a los Hutts, familia y descendientes del ya muerto Jabba the Hutt. Acá todo se complica porque Mando al final le tocará trabajar de manera indirecta para ellos buscando a Rotta, el hijo del mismísimo Jabba el cual está desaparecido. A partir de este momento comienzan las aventuras y la acción de este par que pareciera nunca pueden tener un rato de tranquilidad, todo se les complica. En líneas generales la película es increíble porque tiene de todo un poco, cosas para los fanáticos de la vieja escuela, muchos guiños al respecto; vemos a Mando protagonista, a Grogu protagonista, a los dos trabajando juntos y mucha acción. Creo que supieron hacer un film para el gusto de todas las generaciones de Star Wars, capaz exagero pero veo muchas cosas que avocan a los buenos tiempos de la franquicia.

The action is everywhere: the hand-to-hand combat that Mando loves and that defines him; the aerial battles between spaceships (especially towards the end of the film, which is an ode to the early episodes); fights with the typical droids and stormtroopers; and of course, with a wide variety of galactic creatures. The truth is, in this department, the film more than delivers. All its scenes are incredibly well done, captivating, and entertaining. The plot is cool because it shows us a side of a character we weren't quite sure about. I think Rotta the Hutt is a great character. It's a simple story; you don't need to be an expert on the Star Wars universe to understand it. The franchise always does things right when it comes to effects and CGI; zero complaints. It's one of the film's strong points; they can't afford to fail there.

La acción la hay de todo tipo, la pelea cuerpo que tanto le gusta y caracteriza a Mando; la batalla por aire entre naves espaciales (sobretodo hacia el final del film, aquello es una oda a los primeros episodios); peleas con los típicos androides y stormtroopers y por supuesto con una gran variedad de criaturas galácticas. La verdad es que en este departamento la película cumple con creces, todas sus escenas están super bien logradas, son atrapantes y entretenidas. La trama está cool porque nos muestra una cara de un personaje que no teníamos muy clara de como iba a ser, creo que Rotta el Hutt es un gran personaje. Es una historia simple, no tienes que conocer el universo de Star Wars de lleno para entenderla. La franquicia siempre hace las cosas bien en lo que efectos y CGI se refiere, cero quejas; es de los puntos fuertes, no pueden fallar allí.

Another aspect of the plot is its sentimental/paternal touch. As I mentioned, it's a film that further strengthens the relationship between Din Djarin and Grogu. I didn't find it cheesy or anything; I think those moments of tranquility are welcome amidst the action and the chases. The characters are truly endearing, and incorporating Zeb Orrelios into the story is fantastic—he has a couple of really good scenes. Rotta, voiced by Jeremy Allen White, is also noteworthy, and Pedro Pascal as this Mandalorian is a perfect choice, as he always has been. The Star Wars universe is being saved by all these productions, in my opinion. I read somewhere that another film is supposedly in development, but I'm not entirely sure what direction it will take. Ahsoka, Andor, and Star Wars Rebels are some of the best things that could happen to keep this franchise afloat and help it truly come back to life. It's a good film, with a little bit of everything to suit all tastes. Highly recommended, whether you're a fan of the franchise or not. It's just over two hours long. Otra de las cosas que tiene la trama es su toque sentimental/paternal. Como dije es una película en donde se afianza más la relación de Din Djarin y Grogu. No lo vi cursi ni nada, creo que entre la acción y la persecución esos momentos de tranquilidad caen bien. Los personajes son realmente entrañables, que hayan incorporado a la historia a Zeb Orrelios es algo top, tiene un par de escenas realmente buenas. Rotta con la voz de Jeremy Allen White también es destacable y bueno, Pedro Pascal haciendo de este mandaloriano es un acierto, siempre lo ha sido. El universo de Star Wars está siendo salvado por todas estas producciones, a mi parecer. Por ahí leí que supuestamente está en desarrollo una película más pero no se muy bien que ángulo tendrá. Lo que Ahsoka, Andor y Star Wars Rebels es de lo mejor que le puede pasar a esto para que siga a flote y termine de revivir. Es un buen film, tiene de todo un poco y para todos los gusto. Super recomendado, seas un fanático o no de la franquicia. Dura poco más de dos horas. Te dejo el tráiler para que le eches un ojo.

Have you seen a movie lately with back-to-back action related scene right from the very beginning? No? Please see Mandalorian and Grogu. I didn't see it on my top list for hot movies but it was recommended to me and I didn't regret ever seeing it.

Like who does that? Most of the action movies I've mostly seen would rather have a scene or two as been calm or trying to give us an explanation of what's going on before the real action of shootings and fights begins but hell NO, this movie started with heat right from the first scene and I LOVE IT, lol.

Grogu was Mandalorian's kid, though I'm not sure if it's like biological or just because he's still little and was referred to as kid but he wasn't just an ordinary kid but a hutt who has the ability to live more than a hundred years while Mandalorian was just a fighter contracted by the federal republic in bringing down targets who are criminals and on their bad gang list.

His first mission was capturing an imperial criminal which happened from the very first scene and destroyed his whole empire in addition so I knew it was gonna be a messy movie. The second mission was an unidentified criminal who will be identified by a twins hutts who wants their cousin to be captured by the mandalorian in return for the information they will be giving out to him.

The previous mission was messy but this current mission got messier (permit me to use that, lol). It got very messy that the mandalorian was hunted back to be killed because he defaulted the agreement he had with the twins hutts and despite trying to be strong and fought through from the hands of the twins hutts, he was already bitten by the poisonous snake and would eventually die by its venom if care is not taken because he was trapped in their world already.

This was the part where the emotions started coming in, with Grogu coming back for Mandalorian and turning out to be the one to save him from dieing totally either the sting of a scorpion and from the hands of the hutts hunters.

Another part I love about the movie being emotional is where the other four little hutts came through to help Grogu in searching for Mandalorian when he was captured by the hunter and when they came back with the federal republic team for rescue mission. It shows how looking out for one another could go a long way and having a team work as well also makes the impossible become possible.

The relationship between Rotta and Mandalorian also made it known that not everyone in war would actually turn enemies. Some just found themselves wrapped in between the enemies and until there's a close relationship, the narrative about one another will not change.

If you're a lover of sci-fi movies then you're on the right space if you're seeing this movie because there were so many spaceship of different kinds, the journey to and fro a space to another space, shocking scenes and even though I knew Mandalorian was the actor of the movie and won't die, I still feared for him at some point.

Mandalorian and Grogu is worth watching and as a science movie, you shouldn't expect a less graphics production. I think I should just reserve a bit of my score though, lol. I'll be dropping my 🖊️ here on the review

I honestly didn’t know whether The Mandalorian and Grogu would work as a movie. After spending so much time with these two on Disney+, putting them on the big screen felt like a risky move. But once the movie started, I found myself settling into that familiar Star Wars feeling again.

The story followed Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu as they took on another dangerous mission in a galaxy that was still trying to recover after the fall of the Empire. The New Republic had enlisted Din to deal with remaining Imperial warlords, but as expected, things quickly became much bigger and messier than they first appeared.

What I enjoyed most was still the relationship between Din and Grogu. Din was the tough, quiet Mandalorian who rarely needed many words to make his point, while Grogu continued to be that strange little mixture of adorable and surprisingly dangerous. There were moments when I almost forgot that Grogu was supposed to be the powerful one because he looked so harmless.

Then he would use the Force and remind everyone that there was much more to him than those big innocent eyes. Pedro Pascal continued to give Din Djarin that calm, restrained personality that had made the character so easy to like. Even when everything around him was falling apart, Din remained focused on protecting Grogu. Their relationship still felt less like that of a bounty hunter and his assignment and more like a father trying desperately to keep his child safe.

Director Jon Favreau had described the film as a story about apprenticeship and protection, and that relationship remained at its heart. Colonel Ward (Sigourney Weaver) also brought something interesting to the story, as the person who helped set Din and Grogu on their mission. Rotta the Hutt (Jeremy Allen White), added another unexpected character to the adventure. The action was probably where the movie felt most at home. There were shootouts, space battles, creatures, explosions and enough chaos to keep the story moving. It was the kind of movie where I didn’t necessarily need to overthink everything. Sometimes I just wanted to sit back and watch the Mandalorian do what the Mandalorian did best.

That said, I could understand why some viewers felt the story wasn't as strong as it could have been. The movie sometimes felt like a longer, more expensive episode of the Mandalorian rather than a huge cinematic chapter in the Star Wars universe. Even some critics felt the narrative was thin, while audiences generally responded more warmly to the action and the Din-Grogu relationship. For me, though, that wasn't necessarily a deal-breaker.

Not every Star Wars movie needed to change the entire galaxy. Sometimes a good adventure was enough. What the Mandalorian and Grogu gave me was a simple story about two unlikely companions who had become family. Din had started out as a lone bounty hunter, but Grogu had changed him in ways he probably never expected. Watching them fight, argue, protect each other and somehow find their way through another dangerous mission was still the part I cared about most.

And Grogu? He remained Grogu. Cute one minute, terrifyingly powerful the next. I wouldn't call The Mandalorian and Grogu the greatest Star Wars movie ever made, because it wasn't trying to be that. It was a fun, action-packed adventure built around two characters audiences had already grown attached to.

And sometimes, honestly, that was enough. My Rating: 80/100

If you already loved Din Djarin and Grogu from the series, I think this was worth watching. If you were expecting another massive Star Wars saga that would completely reshape the franchise, you might have been disappointed. But if you just wanted to see Mando and his little green companion get into trouble together again, the movie delivered exactly that.

Way back in 1977 I went to see Star Wars at the cinema. That was a very different time and there have been so many other movies and shows since then. The Mandalorian head been one of the best. Now we have a movie adventure for him and his little green apprentice Grogu.

It all involves tracking down various people to help the former rebels. It involves some family of Jabba the Hutt.

I really enjoyed it. There is plenty of action of course. We have battling spaceships in an atmosphere that look great. Grogu and some other characters are actual puppets that are quite charming, but of course there is plenty of CGI.

If you like the TV show then it should be for you.

It just really should have come out on the 4th.
