The people who do you the most wicked things are the ones you call homies. In this film, there's betrayal, grief, and good friendship.
Parker is a skilled special forces officer and spy. She's on a mission when she gets a call from the sheriff of her hometown, Jesse, son of Ezekiel Swann, who's running for reelection in the town. Jesse informs Parker of her father Harry's accidental passing. The news hits Parker as a shock, and she travels back home immediately to put things in order while preparing for the funeral.
On her arrival in her hometown, she uncovers some dirty things around Elvis, brother of Jesse, the town's sheriff. She also visits her dad's mine after learning that was where his body was found and discovers that his death wasn’t a suicide as stated by Jesse but rather a murder. This makes her begin to ask questions. In the process of feeding her curiosity, she reconnects with Jesse, who was also her ex-lover, and from there it becomes crystal clear that her father was murdered.
Surprisingly, the people behind his murder are the ones he once took as his own blood. He was silenced so that they could erase their footprints off the illegal path they had treaded.
My Review and Rating
After watching this film, I couldn't help but place Jessica Alba, who played the role of Parker, at the top of the list of my favorite actors.
Parker's skillful use of the knife during a gunfight was applaudable. She devoured the role of the protagonist. I also admire her strength and determination to make sure she got justice for her father. This is something Hamlet cannot relate to. Lol. Btw, Harry didn't deserve to die the way he did.
One thing that pissed me off so much about this film was the Swanns’ audacity to blame Harry's death on old age. They said he was becoming forgetful, which made him forget to put the pin on the grenade that blew him up.
But what was later satisfying was that Parker moved smarter than they ever thought. She connected dots they thought weren't visible, which led to their tragic fall—every single one of them. I'm glad she left no stone unturned. She eliminated the terrorists to whom Elvis sold weapons, as well as Elvis and his partners in crime.
The painful twist of this film was that the person who murdered Harry was the one I least expected.
I also love the ridicule of politics and politicians. Politicians are liars. They all are. Their manifestos are just a means to get them into office. The moment they're in, it's mission accomplished as they completely forget their promises and look forward to feeding their greedy stomachs. The film reveals the corrupt nature of people in the force and those in higher seats.
The film opened up with gripping action and maintained it to the end. Not suitable for younger viewers as it's very brutal. I rate it a solid 4.5/5.

I recently noticed a new #1 movie on Netflix called ‘Trigger Warning.’ When I saw that it stars a big-name actress, Jessica Alba, it went straight to the top of my watch list. The trailer didn’t look very impressive, but when you’ve seen most of the movies on Netflix, you jump at something new. Especially if it features an actress you know has talent.
Unfortunately, a good actress couldn’t save this movie. To be fair, I can’t say I watched the entire movie. I actually fell asleep for at least 20 minutes in the middle. But let me give you a little bit of a review.
First, the premise of the movie is that a small-town girl finds out her father is dead. When she returns home, she is told it’s a suicide, which she doesn’t really believe. She investigates and discovers that smugglers are using her father’s ranch to smuggle weapons and carry out a terror plot.
At least, I think that’s the plot. I honestly had a tough time figuring out what was going on, so I’m not entirely sure.
Next up: What’s wrong with the movie?
If I had to pick the two things that bothered me the most, they would be the casting and the camera work.

Casting:
I was really excited to see Jessica Alba in a new movie. I’ve enjoyed many of her earlier films and was hoping for more of the same. However, in movies, there’s something called “suspension of disbelief.” It’s hard to believe that our heroine is tough enough to throw around bad guys like ragdolls and has ninja-like skills. She looks more like a house mom, not Rambo. Knowing that she is actually a wealthy businesswoman and a mother of two doesn’t add to her believability as a badass. If they had played up that she was a mom who happened to be a badass, that would have been great. Instead, they start her off by surviving a vehicle tipping over and playing ninja to take out two armed combatants. Ugh.
But the bad casting doesn’t end there. My sister kept asking me, “Who is that guy?” and usually, I cut her some slack. She has a tough time picking out differences in white guys. However, in this movie, the main bad guys and main good guys all seemed to blend together. Stocky redneck white guys. I kept wondering: Is that the sheriff, the bad guy, or the bad guy’s brother? Even the main terrorist bad guy and army dudes all kept blending together. If there were distinctive clothes, distinctive markers, or other ways to tell them apart, maybe I would have liked it better. But overall, if you can’t figure out the good guys from the bad guys because they all kind of look the same… well, that’s not good.

Lighting:
This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves in the movie: bad lighting. Really dark lighting. It was worse than “Game of Thrones” in some parts. I found myself staring at the screen, wondering what was going on. I saw her go in there, and now there are a lot of dark characters I can’t make out. Who’s fighting who? Why do I care? From nighttime bar scenes to fights in underground caves, it was dark—way too dark.
Forced Wokeness and Stereotypes
And then there is the woke stuff.
Now, I have nothing against strong female leads, adding different racial backgrounds, or other things considered “woke.” However, here it just didn’t play well. The lady comes to save the man and says something cheesy like “Your rescued princess.” Okay, really? The woman saves the man… fair enough, but why use “princess” like it’s an insult? Why not say something like “The fair prince has been saved”? Or even “My knight to be rescued”? Add in the stereotype of “rednecks bad,” “old white politicians can’t be trusted,” “greedy redneck idiots”—I mean, seriously. How stupid do you think criminals are? Rocket launchers to blow up ice cream trucks for fun? If they are supposedly in this for the money, don’t they understand that trucks and rockets are expensive? Then they play up the Latina girl having traditional roots and a deep history… that is poorly understood by me, at least. I wish they played up the familial bonds that made her stronger, the language skills that made her more capable, or even basic “homestyle” skills that proved useful from her upbringing, but instead, it seemed very forced.
At the end of the day, it really wasn’t a great movie.
I really wanted to enjoy it. I really wish I could recommend it. Honestly, though, I just can’t.
Yes, it is a top movie on Netflix right now. I guess that is proof that people are desperate enough to try anything if it has an actor or actress they know and love in it.
Yes, it also has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 20%, meaning others thought it was just as bad as I did.
Watch it if you must, but know that from this reviewer, it just doesn’t get a very high rating. I’d pretty much find anything else to watch.

Así que decide investigar y descubre que se trataba de un caso de contrabando donde había varias personas cercanas involucradas, incluyendo a su ex cuñado y al que fue su suegro y actualmente se desempeñaba como Senador y como todos sabemos unir poder con ambición y dinero no termina siendo una buena combinación.
Aquí podemos ver que incluso ni en los ex se puede confiar, ja, ja, ja. Me gustó ver a Jessica Alba peleando y su personaje representó muy bien a una mujer hispana y pude recordar la hermandad que aún existe en pequeños poblados.
Parker's father had a mine and it was used to smuggle weapons from a military base. His father, when he found out, confronted them and after he was wounded, he tried to destroy the mine with the help of a grenade, but he was trapped and could not destroy the mine in its entirety.
So he decides to investigate and discovers that it was a case of smuggling where there were several close people involved, including his former brother-in-law and his former father-in-law who is currently serving as Senator and as we all know, combining power with ambition and money does not end up being a good combination.
Here we can see that even exes can't be trusted, ha, ha, ha, ha. I liked seeing Jessica Alba fighting and her character represented a Hispanic woman very well and I could remember the sisterhood that still exists in small towns.
Se ve que era un pueblito bien alejado, donde no me gustaría vivir, ja, ja, ja. Me gusta la tranquilidad, pero estar en plena montaña sola y sin nadie cercano no es el sitio ideal para mí, prefiero la ciudad o al menos algo cercano.
Esta película nos muestra la historia de una venganza familiar y aunque siempre escuchamos que vengarnos no devolverá a ese familiar que perdimos, termina dándonos un cierto placer de ajustar cuentas o al menos es lo que interpreto cuando ocurren estos casos.
La película, como les comenté, está recién estrenada y está en la lista de las más vistas en el país, así que si quieres ver otra producción de Jessica Alba, esta es una buena acción, porque patadas y puños es lo que sobra aquí, así que si te gusta la acción, esta es una buena opción.
It looks like it was a small town far away, where I would not like to live, ha, ha, ha, ha. I like the tranquility, but being in the middle of the mountains alone and with no one nearby is not the ideal place for me, I prefer the city or at least something close by.
This movie shows us the story of a family revenge and although we always hear that taking revenge will not bring back that family member we lost, it ends up giving us a certain pleasure of settling accounts or at least that is what I interpret when these cases occur.
The movie, as I told you, is just released and is on the list of the most watched in the country, so if you want to see another Jessica Alba production, this is a good action, because kicks and fists is what's left over here, so if you like action, this is a good option.
