¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨ Yo no puedo estar muy alejada de las películas románticas okey, así que no es de sorprenderse que hoy nuevamente venga con la reseña de una historia de éste género 🤭, con ésta película de hecho me pasó algo curioso, y es que hace aproximadamente un año me crucé con ella en internet y me generó curiosidad verla, sin embargo la añadí a mi lista de películas pendientes pero por alguna razón la olvidé y nunca la ví, hace unos meses revisando el catálogo de próximos estrenos de Netflix la ví y la añadí a mi lista, hasta ese momento no había caído en cuenta que ya, un año atrás, me había encontrado con ella y fue hasta días después de haberla visto, que me dí cuenta de ésto; a lo que quiero llegar con ésta pequeña historia es que: estaba en mi destino verla 🤣🤣, y he de decir por adelantado que la disfruté bastante 🤭, así que hoy hablaremos de ¿Y Qué Tendrá Que Ver el Amor? 👰🏻♀️📽️.
Hello Hello Community! ✨ I can't be too far away from romantic movies okey, so it's not surprising that today I come again with the review of a story of this genre 🤭, with this movie in fact something curious happened to me, and it's that about a year ago I came across it on the internet and I was curious to see it, however I added it to my list of pending films but for some reason I forgot about it and never saw it, a few months ago I was checking the catalogue of upcoming Netflix releases and I saw it and added it to my list, until then I had not realized that already, a year ago, I had come across it and it was until days after having seen it, that I realized this; what I want to get to with this little story is that: it was in my destiny to see it 🤣🤣, and I have to say in advance that I enjoyed it a lot 🤭, so today we'll talk about What's Love Got to Do with It? 👰🏻♀️📽️.

Zoe es una exitosa cineasta que tiene una terrible obsesión con las aplicaciones de citas, y una definición bastante clara y distorsionada de las relaciones amorosas, aunque su vida profesional sea una maravilla, ahora parece enfrentarse a un nuevo reto, la grabación de un nuevo documental que logre ser más conmovedor y exitoso que los anteriores, y es aquí donde entra en juego su amigo y vecino de toda la vida Kaz. Las costumbres de medio oriente dictan que los matrimonios sólo deben ser entre personas que profesen la misma religión y costumbres, y es por eso que Kaz toma la decisión de formar una familia a través tener un matrimonio arreglado, al contarle a su amiga Zoe, ésta decide que su siguiente documental será justamente sobre ésta antigua costumbre, y es través de ella que vamos conociendo no solo del tema, sino también de las opiniones de los involucrados ✨.

Siempre empiezo con el personaje femenino por ninguna razón en concreto 😂, pero aquí específicamente quiero iniciar con Zoe porque siento que es el personaje mejor construido de la película, como bien dice la sinopsis, nuestra protagonista es una persona que ha tenido un montón de intentos fallidos en sus relaciones amorosas, llega un punto de la película en la que sientes como se pierde a ella misma, tiene ideas distorsionadas de lo que es el amor y aparte resulta ser una persona que poco acepta la ayuda de los demás, incluso pone en tela de juicio constantemente al resto de las personas que están a su alrededor, cuestionando sus perspectivas de vida pero forjando una barrera cuando alguien más intenta cuestionarla a ella, y a mí en lo personal todo ésto me parece super interesante porque tiene un arco de personaje increíble, logras ver las emociones que siente en cada una de las fases que muestran en la película, las ves tocar fondo, ves ese pequeño camino que recorre hasta darse cuenta que se enamoró, ves su desesperación cuando intenta solucionar el caos que ha generado, y lo mejor es que es ella quién nos muestra sobre la cultura o costumbres orientales así que como persona ajena a dicha cultura, muchas de sus reacciones pueden llegar a ser las del espectador también 😂. Al ser quien más tiempo en pantalla tiene, me gustó mucho que su desarrollo se diera de la forma en que se hizo, además que la actriz hace un trabajo excelente 💕.
I always start with the female character for no particular reason 😂, but here I specifically want to start with Zoe because I feel she is the best built character in the film, as the synopsis says, our protagonist is a person who has had a lot of failed attempts in her love relationships, there comes a point in the film where you feel like she loses herself, she has distorted ideas of what love is and besides she is a person who does not accept the help of others, she even constantly questions the rest of the people around her, questioning her perspectives on life but forging a barrier when someone else tries to question her, and I personally find this all super interesting because she has an incredible character arc, you get to see the emotions she feels in each of the phases they show in the film, you see them hit rock bottom, you see that little path she takes until she realises she's fallen in love, You see her desperation when she tries to solve the chaos she has generated, and the best thing is that she is the one who shows us about oriental culture or customs so as an outsider to that culture, many of her reactions can become those of the viewer as well 😂. Being the one who has the most screen time, I really liked that her development was done the way it was done, plus the actress does an excellent job 💕.
Por otro lado tenemos a Kaz, quien es médico y se encuentra en un punto de su vida donde ya anhela el formar una familia, y desde el momento en que decide que quiere casarse y pone sobre la mesa el método por el cuál llegará a eso (método sugerido por sus papás cabe destacar), a partir de allí yo comencé a tener una pequeña diatriba entre entender las razones de sus decisiones y juzgarlo por las mismas 😂, he de decir que al inicio de la película si llegué a sentir que realmente entre los dos protagonistas no habían sentimientos amorosos, pero conforme avanza la historia te vas dando cuenta quien fue el que cayó primero, y a mí eso me hizo empatizar mas con Kaz, además debido justamente a sus costumbres, él de alguna forma se ve forzado a tomar ciertas decisiones que como espectador pueden llegar a dejarte un poco desorientado, pero al final te das cuenta que tienen todo el sentido del mundo la historia de se está contando. Kaz tiene menos tiempo en pantalla, y aún así logra transmitirte todas sus inseguridades, toda la presión y la responsabilidad que lleva sobre sus hombros, además algo que me gustó mucho de su personaje, es que al final es el único en decirle a Zoe en su cara y con completa seguridad, que estaba llevando su vida de forma completamente descontrolada, y aunque en ese punto él estaba mas bien ejerciendo demasiado control sobre su propia vida, era quizás a mi opinión, el único que podía tener esa dura conversación con Zoe.
On the other hand we have Kaz, who is a doctor and is at a point in his life where he longs to start a family, and from the moment he decides he wants to get married and puts on the table the method by which he will get there (a method suggested by his parents it should be noted), from there I began to have a little diatribe between understanding the reasons for his decisions and judging him for them 😂, I have to say that at the beginning of the film I did feel that there were no real love feelings between the two protagonists, but as the story progresses you realise who was the one who fell first, and that made me empathise more with Kaz, also because of his habits, he is somehow forced to make certain decisions that as a viewer can leave you a little disoriented, but in the end you realise that the story is telling makes all the sense in the world. Kaz has less screen time, and yet he still manages to convey all his insecurities, all the pressure and responsibility he carries on his shoulders, plus something I really liked about his character, is that in the end he is the only one to tell Zoe to her face and with complete certainty, that he was leading his life in a completely uncontrolled way, and although at that point he was rather exercising too much control over his own life, he was perhaps in my opinion, the only one who could have that tough conversation with Zoe.

Visualmente la película es una maravilla, tiene muy clara su paleta de colores y eso hace mucho juego con lo que la misma relata: costumbres orientales, además me encanta el ritmo que lleva la historia y el tono de seriedad con el que es contada, el romance entre los protagonistas no es apresurado, como dije anteriormente logras ver quien se enamoro primero y además ver en qué momento empezaron los sentimientos de la otra persona, y aunque podría decirse que eso se debe al buen trabajo de los actores, también se debe a una buena ejecución de historia, el cliché de friends to lover (que es el de ésta historia) si no se trabaja de la forma correcta, se puede ser muy inconsciente y apresurado, aquí lo trabajaron al ritmo correcto y por lo menos a mí me atrapó muchísimo. Al ser una película romántica pues tú sabes cómo terminará, pero la forma en como juegan con los giros de trama es fenomenal, mientras veía la película yo estaba super confiada de que cierto acontecimiento no se llevaría a cabo, pero entonces me lanzan como bomba atómica el hecho de que efectivamente sí se llevó a cabo, y apenas vas a mitad de película, casi me hace enloquecer porque siguiendo la habitual estructura de una historia de éste tipo, no te esperas que eso pase 😂, y pues al final sirve para que tengas una versión distinta de una historia que es totalmente predecible 😂.
Visually the film is a marvel, it has a very clear palette of colours and that makes a lot of game with what it relates: Oriental customs, I also love the pace of the story and the serious tone with which it is told, the romance between the protagonists is not rushed, as I said before you get to see who fell in love first and also see at what point the feelings of the other person began, and although it could be said that this is due to the good work of the actors, it is also due to a good execution of the story, the cliché of friends to lover (which is the one of this story) if not worked in the right way, can be very unconscious and rushed, here they worked it at the right pace and at least it caught me a lot. Being a romantic movie you know how it will end, but the way they play with the plot twists is phenomenal, while watching the movie I was super confident that a certain event wouldn't happen, but then they drop the fact that it did happen like an atomic bomb on me, and barely halfway through the film, it almost makes me go crazy because following the usual structure of a story of this type, you don't expect that to happen 😂, and in the end it serves to give you a different version of a story that is totally predictable 😂.

No es una película perfecta y ya todos lo sabemos, así como tiene sus aciertos también tiene sus desaciertos, uno de ellos por ejemplo es el final, específicamente la última escena, porque realmente hay una parte de toda la secundaria del desenlace que a mí me parece preciosa al punto de casi hacerme llorar (hablamos de la resolución de un conflicto familiar del que nos habían hablado durante toda la trama), pero de forma específica la última escena que es realmente el cierre del romance de la película, se siente como el final de una comedia romántica para adolescentes, siento que no va en sintonía con la narrativa de la historia, y que forma parte de esas pequeñas escenas “cómicas” que intentaron hacer y que nuevamente no estaban en sintonía, y ejecutar un final de ésta forma hace que, aunque no lo sientas apresurado, si lo sientas inconsistente y fuera de lugar, haciendo que decidas quedarte con el resto de la historia y no justamente con la parte que tienes toda la película esperando 🤷🏻♀️. Ahora bien, otro punto flojo de la historia es que no profundizan en ciertos elementos de la trama que resultan interesantes de explorar, un ejemplo es la prometida de Kaz, es más que evidente desde el primer momento que ella no quería casarse y aunque al final nos dejan ver sus razones, igual no pronfudizan en ese tema dejandolo como elemento en el que sencillamente no quisieron trabajar.
It's not a perfect film and we all know that, as well as it has its good points it also has its bad points, one of them for example is the ending, specifically the last scene, because there really is a part of the whole high school denouement that I find beautiful to the point of almost making me cry (we are talking about the resolution of a family conflict that we had been told about during the whole plot), but specifically the last scene that is really the closure of the romance of the film, it feels like the ending of a romantic comedy for teenagers, I feel that it is not in tune with the narrative of the story, and that it is part of those little "comic" scenes that they tried to do and that again were not in tune, and executing an ending in this way makes that, although you don't feel it rushed, you do feel it inconsistent and out of place, making you decide to stay with the rest of the story and not just with the part that you have the whole movie waiting for 🤷🏻♀️. Now, another weak point of the story is that they don't delve into certain elements of the plot that are interesting to explore, an example is Kaz's fiancée, it is more than evident from the first moment that she didn't want to get married and although at the end they let us see her reasons, they still don't elaborate on the subject, leaving it as an element that they simply didn't want to work on.
