A monolith is a geological feature consisting of a single massive stone or rock, such as some mountains. Erosion usually exposes the geological formations, which are often made of very hard and solid igneous or metamorphic rock. Some monoliths are volcanic plugs, solidified lava filling the vent of an extinct volcano.

Long time ago, the author of this review watched the documentary series *Cosmos*. Inone of the episodes, its narrator Carl Sagan made an interesting experiment. He collected samples of all the chemical elements that create human body and mixed them all, trying to create a man. Of course, he failed. Unfortunately, the authors of *Monolith* didn't watch this particular episode, otherwise they wouldn't make a movie so…More
