Nothing but...good shit

clobVVittywrebbeXX34.JPG

I've worked pretty hard over the last few weeks for quite a few days in a row, long days of over 12 hours each, and I arrived at this weekend - my first two days off in a while - feeling pretty drained. Don't get me wrong, my work isn't physically demanding, I don't swing a sledge hammer breaking rocks in a quarry with only a crust of bread and sip of water a day to sustain myself, but my work is mentally taxing and I have to stay very focused for long periods of time.

Anyway, I arrived at this weekend needing two days off...and fucking hell, here I am with three fucking days off instead!

That's good shit!

This weekend I'm doing nothing but good shit. I'm eating out for every meal or getting take-out at home, visiting with some friends, taking a drive into the country for a hike and picnic and other good fucken shit like that. It helps to have Monday off...more time to do more good shit.

Three days off...that's good shit.

And a weekend of doing nothing but good shit...that's some good shit right there!

Part of my weekend will focus around music, I've shared some below, and I want to do some reading, a lot of reading because the book I'm reading is worth reading...it's good shit.

I'm not going to do any work, that can wait until next week, the beginning of which will be spent preparing to travel for five or so days from Thursday next week for work, but I'll not be thinking about it as I'll be too busy doing good shit.

Anyway, I'm here talking shit when I could be elsewhere doing good fucken shit so I'm fucken out of here...to do some good shit.

Here's my tracks for this weekend, all by American country singer/songwriter Hardy, you'll probably fucken hate them all and that's fine with me; I don't care if you like them or not - I don't give a shit - I think they're good shit and that's what matters.

Hey that sounds like pretty good shit! Glad you got to get off of that work train for a bit. A three day weekend is always welcome! I got whisked away for a long weekend quite unexpectedly, actually it was more like abducted lol. The girls in my spinning group had planned a retreat after the long 'Tour de Fleece' ended, to celebrate their accomplishments. Since I hadn't participated this year due to unforseen circumstances, I was not going to go along. They had other plans though, and one gal pulled up in the driveway and told me to 'get my shit and get in the car' LOL. Our host has a little ranch out in the boonies and we gather there a few times a year to indulge in all manner of fiber shenanigans. I hadn't realized how badly I needed that.

Hardy is pretty awesome. I'm glad he stepped out from just being a songwriter and started recording some of his own stuff. Have you listened to his album where he mixes metal and country songs? It's pretty good.

People who don't do mentally taxing work don't realise just how tiring it is.

Though do you ever get the people who know literally nothing at all about your job and how long you take to do things confidently assert that something that they asked "should only take a few minutes"? That used to do my head in when I was doing webdev.

Was it a long weekend over there or did you give yourself a long weekend? :D Was it nice weather for hiking? It wasn't brilliant over here but I wouldn't have been able to get out this weekend anyway as we had comps.

Having three days off will allow you to rest and do various activities. Going to the countryside is a great plan. I hope you enjoy your days off to the fullest.

    Best regards!

Sounds like you're going to spoil yourself this weekend, and well deserved so! And this post will definitely up your score in @holoz0r's swear word count 😅

That Rednecker song is very funny 🤣 The last one is interesting, as everything that includes taking justice into one's own hands. But I'm not much in the condition to think right now, so I'll leave it there. Just shared my own selection for today, stumbled over some nice tunes this week.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Well deserved!

I remember there was a time in my life when I had to work two jobs:

    A full-time job working M-F 6:00am-2:30pm.

A second job working a few weeknights from 6:00pm-10:00pm, plus all weekends and holidays usually from 10:00am-5:00pm.

For 6 straight months, I did not have a single day off. Granted, my second job was at a theme park so I was just pretty much playing around and not really working.

I can't do stuff like that anymore LOL.

    Enjoy your three-day weekend!

It would be Monday again very soon :) Get as much Rest as you can. And yes, you always do a lot of good shit writing here too!

We live based on "behaving well" to be loved and the truth is that we rarely get it. When we do, they don't love us but what they made of us. So enjoy to the fullest, "behave well or badly" without caring about anything, to everything that gives your energy and your will to live, here and now, Galenkp.

Now you made me curious, what book is that?

After a full trip and an upcoming one soon I get that you don't even want to cook, just keep doing what relax and what you like, duties can wait a week

I had some bad shit, driving under the falling ice (whatever it's called in English) storm, not fun

  • @bilalber(58)· 393d

Sounds like you’ve more than earned this well-deserved break enjoy every moment of that “good shit”!

  • @alekst7(57)· 393d

What's that good book you're reading?)

  • @madushanka(79)· 393d

You who were expecting a two-day break, but now you have a three-day break, will be a reason for your mental stress to subside. Continuous work can cause your mental level to drop to a certain level. It is at such times that the mind needs a break. The outdoor activities you mentioned will increase your mental stability and bring you back to your usual self. I wish you a happy and enjoyable weekend.

I'm so glad you have three days off, well deserved!!! Mental work is sometimes much harder and if it's extremely demanding it can even damage your health, so resting, clearing your mind and doing good things will do you a world of good! Then you can return to work with renewed energy!

I hope you have a great weekend, full of wonderful things! Hugs!

    You need rest

  • @tonyes(74)· 393d

Mental work is worse than physical work. The latter can be solved with proper nutrition and good rest. However, mental fatigue often generates stress and is more difficult to solve. Happy weekend. Cheers and greetings.
