Overview

Today I brought a Wild battle, where their was not too much option choose from as a Splinter, so it was quite big chance for a mirror match. I liked the rulesets which I got and I have to try to come up with something different than my opponent, but I think it will be a close game! πŸ˜‡

My upcoming Battle ruleset(s)

image.png

Ruleset Description
Healed Out All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.
Fog of War Monsters lose the Sneak and Snipe abilities.
Melee Mayhem Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.

The mana cap for my next battle is 32, which is not that much considering that I need to bring mostly melee attack monsters if I want to take advantage of the Melee Mayhem ruleset, which means that all of the melee attack monsters were able to attack from any position in the lineup. 😲

The Super Sneak helps a bit to setup my lineup, because I do not need to worry about incoming damage, which will target my last monster (using Sneak ability) or the first ranged, magic or non-attack monster (using Snipe ability) in my lineup. πŸ˜‰

The Healed Out is not that big of a deal, but it helps me to ditch the Life Splinter completely, because they have some really good Healers and they wouldn't be able to use any of their Healing abilities in this battle. 😊

My lineup

|I wanted to use a specific **Gladiator** card in this battle, so I had to pick **Octavia Shadowmeld** who is able to use one additional **Gladiator** monster in her battle. She will also decrease the **health** of all the enemy monsters by one, which is just the cherry on top. πŸ˜‹| |I had to bring a pretty solid tank in order to try to survive the first few rounds and that is why I picked the **Harklaw** who is by the way one of my favorite tank in the game, because he has amazing abilities. The first and most important is the **Shield** ability, so he will halves all the incoming **melee** and **ranged** attacks hence he is my tank. The second is his **Immunity** ability, so no one can affect him with any **magic** debuffs and the third is the **Demoralize**, so he will decrease the **melee** attack of all the enemy monsters by one. πŸ€—|

|The **Cursed Windeku** is a strong and cheap tank within the **Death** Splinter even thought he doesn't have the **Shield** ability. His 6 mana cost gives him +2 **melee** attack on its own and 10 **health**, so he will be able to sustain a lot of damage. He also has the **Thorns** ability, which is excellent if both of our teams mostly using **melee** attack monster, so if an enemy **melee** attacker deals damage to him he will reflect two damage back to them. πŸ˜‡| |**Trapp Falloway** was the whole reason I picked **Octavia** for this battle, because his defense is quite weak to use him in the first round, but as as a **melee** attacker in the **Melee Mayhem** ruleset he is perfect, because he has huge amount of damage and **speed** and on top of that he has the **Bloodlust** ability as a **Gladiator** monster, which means that if he manages to kill his target he will increase his own stat by one permanently. πŸ‘|

|The **Ravenhood Warden** is a **ranged** attack monster and I had to bring him with a very good reason! He has +2 **ranged** attack damage two very powerful ability, which is the **Protect** and the **Inspire** abilities. This is just too good to miss out, because he will give +2 **armor** and +1 **melee** attack to his friendly monsters as long as he is alive! 😁| |Even thought the **Clockwork Aide** doesn't have any attack on its own he has the **Swiftness** ability, which will increase the **speed** of all of his friendly monsters by one, but more importantly he has the **Rust** ability as well, so if my opponent would also bring the **Ravenhood Warden** like me to get some protection my **Aide** will step in and remove that easily with his ability. πŸ˜…|

|The **Corpse Fiend** cost zero mana, which meakes him easy to use and he also has +1 **melee** attack on its own, which will be further boosted by the **Inspire** ability from my **Warden**. Thanks to the **Melee Mayhem** ruleset he is also be able to attack from the back of my lineup, which is amazing! 😎|

My opponent brought Thaddius Brood, who is also a Death Summoner and his power is to decrease all the magic attacks and health of my monsters by one. πŸ˜’

In the first round my Trapp Falloway made a huge attack against their tank who also reflected two damage back to him, but this allowed my Cursed Windeku to kill him easily. 😁

My Ravenhood Warden killed their Venari Marksrat as well whom buffed up their Riftwing increasing all of his stats by one. My monsters couldn't kill him and unfortunately I lost my Harklaw in the process of that. πŸ˜’

Luckily I had another tank ready and primed and in the second round my Trapp killed their new tank of Riftwing easily.

Still in the second round my team managed to kill their Skok and only two monsters with only one health left in their team, which was easy to kill for my team and won the battle for me! πŸ˜‡

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked as I expected, because I decreased the melee attack of my opponent monsters and also increased mines with one, so the difference of our melee attacks were already two, which helped a lot in this battle. πŸ˜‡
