Great post, applies to many aspects of life, whether it be Fitness goals or striving for Career advancement. It can be very easy to lose hope if the gains are imperceptable. The trick, as you have pointed out, is to trust in the persistence and hold out long enough to benefit from the effort that has gone in.
Persistence is a massive and super useful behavioural characteristic that many people do not appreciate the value of. I see it week in week out in the world of Software development. Ultimately Dev/QA team members that give up on something early aren't much use to me but the special ones that will 'dig in' and drive until the finish line to get an answer, no matter what the cost, are worth their weight in gold and ultimately stand out amongst their peers.
With the advent of AI and it's application in the world of software development this trait is being handed off to AI Agents that can run 24/7 and basically do the grunt work for the individual, that being said it is still applicable because the end user has to continue to direct the AI and attempt not to be frustrated if the answer isn't served up on the first attempt.
Persistence should be celebrated! :)
