I think it has been one of the most controversial and daring releases this year. Its director not only delves into the pink and sweet aesthetic associated with Barbie (how does society view women?), but goes beyond that to address deep and mature themes about relationships, gender perceptions and societal expectations.
It's refreshing to see a film that isn't afraid to tackle these issues head-on and instead of taking sides, presents a balanced view, showing both the strengths and weaknesses of both genders.
