Yesterday I finally finished watching season 2 of Vikings, and I still have a long way to go, but I'm not rushing. It's a series I've had on my watchlist for a long time.

I don't want to get discouraged while watching, so I've been chalking off the unserious scenes so I can keep going and not get stuck and possibly stop watching.

Ragnar Lothbrok and his people refuse to give up on acquiring new lands in England; they want to sail often and often to England, to conquer more lands even when they know that the kings in England are against their visit and they will always fight them. This time around, Ragnar Lothbrok, King Horik and Jarl Borg decide to raid together as allies to conquer more lands, but along the line, Jarl Borg decides to pollute the mind of Rollo, Ragnar's brother, to fight and kill him so Rollo can become the Earl and have control of their sail to England. The battle to kill Ragnar and King Horik was very intense, but in the end, Jarl Borg and Rollo were defeated and under normal circumstances, Rollo was to be killed due to how he fought and wanted to kill their Earl, Earl Ragnar, but Ragnar bribed the gods to keep his only brother alive and forgive him.

This season two is more about the battle to kill Ragnar and each of the plots; Ragnar keeps surviving, and it shows how dearly his people love him and would not want to betray him because it takes his people to succeed in killing him.

Shortcomings:

The birth of Ragnar's multiple sons:

All through the season as I watched, I kept wondering how they made the periods of pregnancy and births so quick. Today, Princess Asluag is pregnant; tomorrow she gives birth; the next day, the baby has grown into a boy of 5 years. The following week, she gets pregnant again, and within a few scenes, she gives birth again, and the next scene, the boy has turned 5 years old. Meanwhile, all this is happening with everything and look being intact. That's so poor of a plot.

Too many séx scenes:

I can't imagine watching this series in the parlour with my dad, mom, siblings, nieces and nephews around. They're focused more on séx on this series, and it's a turn-off for me. Almost everyone is talking about séx and nakedness. That's so bad. I'm not against involving séx scenes in a movie, but when it becomes excessive, it becomes a turn-off for me; it becomes a restricted movie for the family.

In all this, I still love the plot twist of the series. I love how they made most of the targets at Ragnar appear as if they've succeeded in killing them, and it will come to nothing in the end.

Well, I would rate this season 6/10.
