We have various types of relationships in our lives; some are incredibly close and special, while others remain merely formal—such as with office colleagues with whom we interact casually but without deep intimacy. Then there are those relationships that are truly close and hold immense significance in our lives. We fear losing these particular bonds because we cherish the people involved so deeply; that is the primary reason. Ultimately, such relationships are rare, as very few people are able to evoke this kind of feeling and love in us—a bond that can only form when there is profound trust.

You may have noticed that when a person loves someone deeply, they expect that person to talk only to them and stay by their side; if the loved one speaks to someone else or does anything that triggers a fear of losing them, it often sparks jealousy. Many people claim that the intensity of jealousy in a relationship reflects the depth of love, but this is not always true—these are merely opinions, and the reality is often quite different.
If your partner is talking to someone else or doing anything that triggers feelings of insecurity, it is only natural to feel jealous. Many people experience this, and sometimes the jealousy escalates to the point where one feels compelled to move on. This often stems from the fear of losing control over the relationship or the worry that their partner has grown close to someone else—leading to the belief that the relationship will never be the same again. Yet, these are often just thoughts playing out in one's mind; the reality may be quite different, and it is simply overthinking that drives these distressing speculations.
A little bit of jealousy in a relationship is normal, but if it reaches a point where you end up breaking the relationship—driven solely by overthinking—then it indicates a lack of mutual understanding. If there is love between two people, there should be a strong bond and understanding. Nowadays, it is common for people to have friends—even very close ones—but that doesn't mean someone will neglect their partner (their closest person) for the sake of a friend; nor can you simply conclude that your partner no longer loves you without concrete evidence. If you feel your partner is growing closer to someone else, you should talk to them openly and express your feelings—admit that you are feeling a bit jealous. If there is mutual understanding, this shouldn't be an issue. However, if you keep overthinking without communicating and eventually walk away from the relationship, that is wrong; you would be ending the bond without a conversation, all because of jealousy.
Trust is the most important element of a healthy relationship; it must exist between both partners. If your partner trusts you just as much as you trust them, misunderstandings are unlikely to arise, and your relationship will endure rather than fall apart. However, if you give in to jealousy, it is inevitable that your relationship will eventually break down—often over nothing more than a minor misunderstanding.
