Regardless of what you may think with the title, this is an outgoing reward rather than the usual "delegate hp to our project for rewards". Since half of the beneficiary rewards have been remaining with the @scrobble account since its existence, we were wondering what we could be doing with them:
Use it for marketing? Contests? Just more consumer rewards?
Most of the time the answer was "meh, it's such a small amount $ wise anyway", so instead, until Hive's doing a bit better, they'll be utilized towards rewarding people using the site!
While we're not going to share exactly how the points are given, you'll be seeing a second weekly post come out from the @scrobble account after the consumer rewards report on Monday's. There we'll be mentioning who got a delegation.
The nice part about the delegation? It's not time-restricted!
This means that until this program runs, you'll be keeping your delegation and can even increase it by using the site and project.
The only risk of losing it is if you don't use the site for over 2 weeks at all, then the delegation will be revoked and a week later redistributed towards active accounts.
Just being active however is not enough, there's more intricate parameters involved to avoid the usual abuse but it won't be exactly the same as consumer rewards. So you can expect delegation rewards to differ from consumer rewards.
As things stand currently, there's 2300 HP to be given out, and each week this increases as more beneficiary rewards come in, which means that each week there's more delegations to be earned.
Delegations are a great way to reward those with a longterm mindset of hive, especially in these markets. A 1000 HP delegation today can easily get you ~80 hive in a year if you utilize it well, and who knows where hive is valued by then!
That's kind of why we settled for this rather than just trailing @ocd votes with the scrobble account while waiting to use the rewards for something else.
We do however reserve the right to discontinue this program when we feel it's best to use those rewards for something more efficient or better if the time/timing is right.
