Wait Up, Guys! Don’t Leave Without Me!! 🦆
This evening I was a bit late getting out the door with @bitterirony for our stroll. The days are getting shorter, so it’s important to start the walk by 5:30pm to see our web-footed friends. So I related to this little drake 🦆 on the bank. He was the last to join the raft and could’ve missed the paddling.
The swimmers you see are the last of the ducks to join the others out on Captain’s Pond. We reckon there were 40 or so moving along the ripples.
As we traversed the path I saw distinct red and blue through the trees, so I trespassed a bit to shoot the two fishermen standing each in their own canoes to cast their reels, aiming for the same catches as the ducks.
When I got back to the road to rejoin @bitterirony, he had found a rabbit!
Even though we’ve only been at the new home a few days, this stroll has become a routine. When we get back to the house, I sweep the new deck and Bitter makes the drinks. He has a Gin & Soda and for me it’s been an Aperol Spritz, but with the colours advancing into fall, I’m now having a Negroni Fizz.
Once seated on the freshly swept deck in our pair of black cabled rockers with drinks in hand, I snapped this auburn in the oaks overhead.
