A day that felt strange

image.png

Today I woke up earlier than usual, feeling pretty tired—physically and mentally exhausted—but ready to start a new day of work and responsibilities. But everything felt very strange today. From the moment I woke up, I sensed that something wasn’t quite right, but I still stayed optimistic—especially after seeing the sunrise through my window with those beautiful colors and the moon peeking out just a little, forming a sort of smile. It looked spectacular.

Things started to get weird when my son told me he wasn’t feeling well, that his throat hurt, and that he couldn’t go to school like that. I didn’t believe him because he’s been lying to me lately about having “stomachaches,” and unfortunately, he fell into the same old pattern: when you lie too much, there comes a time when you tell the truth and no one believes you… I felt guilty for taking him to school like that, but I didn’t know if he was really feeling sick or just trying to trick me so he could have the day off.

But he really wasn't feeling well. When I picked him up from school, he looked downcast; he said he wanted to sleep and that his whole body ached. He fell asleep on the way home and had a fever; he's been sick all day.

I felt pretty bad for him, since he had to be in class feeling awful. And while he was in class, I started making my breakfast so I could get to work, but then the power went out from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the whole time I was just sitting around doing nothing, waiting for the power to come back on so I could work in peace. I took the opportunity to finish decorating my little tree, but I couldn’t see it lit up until the power came back on.

Finally, when the lights came on, I could see that it looked really nice—brightly lit and decorated exactly as I’d imagined. Well, we’ve had problems with the electricity all day; it’s been a nightmare, and on top of that, it rained terribly and the street flooded a little.

These weather changes are making me really nervous because it can be blazing hot one minute and then, OUT OF NOWHERE, it starts pouring.
