Today I want to share with you a very personal reflection that has been on my mind these past few weeks. We live in a constantly changing world, but, ironically, we humans tend to cling to the comfort of the familiar. We get used to our surroundings, to familiar faces, and to the dynamics we’ve mastered with our eyes closed. However, there are moments in life when your soul and mind are screaming for a change. That’s exactly what happened to me recently.
After more than five years in the same job—a place that was my school, my professional home, and where I grew tremendously—I made the decision to take a leap of faith and take on a new challenge. It wasn’t an easy decision; when you spend so much time in one place, you grow attached to the processes, your colleagues, and the security of knowing exactly what to expect every day.
But I felt it was time to move on to new horizons. I was very grateful for all the lessons and wonderful experiences I had the opportunity to have, but I knew I needed a real change—a push that would break me out of my routine and force me to tap into new skills.

Stepping out of your comfort zone, facing completely new situations, and surrounding yourself with different people is, without a doubt, one of the best things you can do for yourself. It’s uncomfortable at first, yes, but it’s the only real way to grow as a person and as a professional.
This desire for renewal didn’t stop at the workplace. At the same time, I’m pursuing my graduate degree (a Master’s in Business Management), and I’m already nearing the end of my first semester—a step that has completely transformed my daily life. Studying and working at this stage has led me to meet incredible people, hear different perspectives, and, of course, restructure my routine.
And this drive for growth has extended to every area of my life. Having just turned 29, I feel like I’m in a period of total growth: I’m about to move up to the intermediate level in my private English classes, I’ve just advanced to Level 2 at the singing academy, and I continue to serve at church with the same devotion. We grow as individuals, we grow as a family, and we learn to enthusiastically embrace every new facet of who we are.

For example, let’s talk about daily logistics. My routine now involves frequent use of public transportation. This has forced me to completely change my schedule and plan ahead precisely to be on time at the stop (because otherwise, the bus leaves without me), calculate the exact number of minutes, get to the next transfer point, and wait as long as necessary to board the route that will take me to my destination. The same thing happens in the afternoons on my way home. Afterward, I head straight to class, which this semester is scheduled as follows: Monday, English; Tuesday and Wednesday, graduate school; Thursday, English; Friday, singing. I feel almost like a teenager with so many extracurricular activities!
At first, this logistical change can be a bit exhausting, but I’ve taken it in stride with joy and calm. It’s part of the adventure of moving toward where you want to be. Plus, I’m incredibly happy to be able to enjoy the benefits of this new phase, learn more every day about my field of specialization, and define my path more clearly within my profession.

Looking back, I remember that at the beginning of my academic and professional journey, I wasn’t entirely sure which direction to take my career. The world is so vast, and there are so many fascinating fields to choose from that picking just one seemed like an impossible task. However, as the years have gone by, the pieces of the puzzle have fallen into place perfectly.
Today, I see everything much more clearly. My calling is project management: understanding processes in depth and proposing real improvements by using technology as a strategic ally. I’m passionate about analyzing how things flow, identifying bottlenecks, and designing efficient solutions that make life easier within organizations.
Combining my foundational training with tools for data analysis, automation, and continuous improvement has become my true calling. This new professional challenge is allowing me to put all of this into practice at a whole new level, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.
Change is scary—that’s a fact. Stepping outside your comfort zone means taking the risk of making mistakes, getting burned out, or having to start from scratch in some areas. But the real risk lies in staying stuck out of fear of trying something new.
