Se fue otro mundial que dejo muchísimas impresiones en la categoría Sub-20 femenina con una final entre dos grandes selecciones que demostraron hasta lo último que ambas eran dignas de levantar el trofeo, pero como es lógico el campeón es solo uno.
Qué manera de terminar este Mundial Sub-20. Después de 120 minutos, España y Corea del Norte no pudieron hacerse daño y todo tuvo que definirse desde los penales. Y ahí apareció Laia López, que terminó siendo la gran protagonista de la noche con dos atajadas para darle a España la victoria 4-3 en la tanda y devolverle el título mundial que había conquistado en 2022. Una final de esas donde un pequeño detalle termina haciendo toda la diferencia.

Another Women's U-20 World Cup has come to a close, leaving a lasting impression with a final between two great teams; both proved right to the very end that they were worthy of lifting the trophy, though, naturally, there can be only one champion.
What a way to conclude this U-20 World Cup. After 120 minutes, neither Spain nor North Korea could break the deadlock, forcing the match to be decided by a penalty shootout. That was when Laia López stepped up, becoming the star of the night by making two saves to secure a 4-3 shootout victory for Spain and reclaim the world title they had previously won in 2022. It was the kind of final where a tiny detail makes all the difference.
Pero si algo hay que reconocer es el torneo que hizo Corea del Norte, en todos mi post referente a esta selección siempre resalte lo impresionante de estas chicas coreanas, yo no había visto otra selección tan implacable como este en el futbol femenino. Las asiáticas llegaron como campeonas defensoras, pasaron por encima de Colombia en dos ocasiones y llegaron a la final con una estadística que parecía de videojuego: cero goles recibidos durante todo el Mundial. Y ni siquiera España pudo romper esa barrera en 120 minutos. Al final perdieron el título en los penales, pero se van de Polonia habiendo dejado una de las actuaciones defensivas más impresionantes que se recuerden en esta categoría.
However, one thing that must be acknowledged is the tournament North Korea played; throughout my posts about this team, I consistently highlighted just how impressive these Korean players were. I had never seen a women's football team quite as relentless as this one. The Asian side arrived as defending champions, dominated Colombia on two occasions, and reached the final with a record that looked like something out of a video game: zero goals conceded throughout the entire World Cup. Not even Spain could break through that defensive wall in 120 minutes. Ultimately, they lost the title on penalties, but they leave Poland having delivered one of the most impressive defensive performances in the history of this age group.
España, por su parte, tuvo que trabajar muchísimo para encontrar el camino al campeonato. No pudo marcarle a Corea durante el partido, pero cuando llegó el momento de la verdad sus jugadoras estuvieron perfectas desde los once metros. Marisa García, Celia Segura, Carla Julià y Daniela Agote convirtieron sus cobros, mientras Laia López hizo el resto. Y ahí está la diferencia de una final: puedes jugar 120 minutos sin encontrar el gol, pero necesitas mantener la cabeza fría cuando llega el momento que define todo.
Spain, for its part, had to work incredibly hard to find the path to the championship. They couldn't score against Korea during the match, but when the moment of truth arrived, their players were flawless from the penalty spot. Marisa García, Celia Segura, Carla Julià, and Daniela Agote converted their penalties, while Laia López did the rest. And that is the difference in a final: you can play 120 minutes without finding the back of the net, but you need to keep a cool head when the decisive moment arrives.
Y así se cierra un Mundial que dejó varias historias interesantes. Corea del Norte no pudo defender la corona, pero terminó con una campaña histórica; España vuelve a ser campeona cuatro años después. Con este titulo el seleccionado español consigue levantar la copa por segunda vez, y algo curioso es que sigue España de fiesta, recordemos que el reciente mundial de futbol en la categoría masculina lo gano España ante la Argentina de Messi, así que este país en cuento a futbol se refiere sigue de fiesta.
