OFF TO THE DOCTOR AGAIN (En - Es)

ENGLISH

Greetings everyone, welcome to my blog.

Summing up the week, sadly I couldn't go to the pink event that my training group sponsored last Sunday, because the pain in my shoulder was intense. I had to go back to the doctor this week because it couldn't be explained that after three weeks after the accident, with treatment for a week, and having the latter at complete rest, the pain in the shoulder continued for some movements. I am currently too active and this situation limits me a lot.

In short, I could not attend a private consultation again because the budget was not enough, so the odyssey to get myself seen in a public center was tedious, because in the health sector these limitations increase every day.

I went to the hospital in the other city yesterday, and waited for them to attend to me to request an order for plates, but after a thousand evasion, they told me to come on Monday to be evaluated and after that, issue the order for the plates.

I ended up requesting the order for the plate yesterday, through the clinical consultation of a private company, thanks to the fact that my niece is a nurse in that area and they allow her to make these requests for family members. I didn't really know that this could be done, but she offered it to me when I asked her about appointments at the local clinic. God opens the way for us without imagining.

Likewise, I must return to the hospital at dawn on Monday (as they told me in appointment control), to be evaluated by the doctor on duty, and if I already have my plate order, there is a better chance of being seen that same day, and not waiting for a new order to go later.

Having the order in my hands calms me. I feel like I'm going into Monday with a better chance of doing the plaque and finally seeing what's happening with my shoulder that the pain persists. On the other hand, being at home resting increases my anxiety, and I start inventing all kinds of meals.

Amidst all the improvisation, I try to incorporate healthy choices, though I inevitably break a rule or two now and then. Yesterday, however—right after leaving the hospital—I threw every single rule out the window. Ever since I was a little girl, there have been food stalls in front of the health center serving traditional local dishes. I’m not sure if this has been passed down through generations, but these vendors have been there for decades, offering traditional breakfasts and lunches. Whenever I’m in that area, I always stop by.

It had been a while since I last had a malta—one of the most iconic, traditional drinks in the country—which I paired with a chicken pastelito (a savory pastry). Sitting there having breakfast, looking out at the place where I was not only born but also raised, always fills me with a sense of nostalgia.

Despite everything, the hospital staff is truly pouring their hearts into their work. I saw many areas dedicated to preventive care—not just in the context of "Pink Month" (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), but also addressing other illnesses and epidemics that have emerged in recent months.

Before heading home—and while I was already out—I stopped to pick up deworming medication for my "pack" (my pets), which was already a few days overdue. As is often the case, I couldn't find it here in Guanipa; the only place that carries this type of medication is Multimascotas in El Tigre—it’s the most well-stocked veterinary shop around.

Mission accomplished! Now, I just need to get ready for tomorrow morning’s breast cancer screening event. All in all, it’s been a very productive week, and that’s what truly matters. Thanks for visiting my blog... have a great weekend!
