I laughed so much during this movie. Sometimes a chuckle, sometimes gut busting, my abs hurt now laughter.
The movie starts with a classic Wile.E.Coyote after the Roadrunner silly scheme. He puts metal ball bearings on a plate, puts bird seed on top then when Road runner eats everything tries to catch him with an acme magnetic glove. And it goes hilriously wrong. As does the next few schemes, with one of them ending with a rocket powered roller skates getting him shot down by a fighter jet.
Defeated and depressed he returns to his cave, adds the failed plans to a giant filing cabinet and turns on the tv. In which there is a human(a real human, not a cartoon human), advertising their service in cartoon law.
From there Coyote goes off to the city(in a series of failed device and eventually getting hit by a bus that takes him the rest of the way). And what's next is hilarious and also shows how inventive people can be with communication. See Coyote, does not speak. He has signs. And while they were working with the og stuff of Coyote not speaking, it made me think of the kids I work with who often do not speak, but very much communicate.
Though never with explosives.
From there we get a mix of courtroom drama and silliness and a conspiracy about acme that gets unravelled through a combination of courage and loony logic. Like paint creating a tunnel, and someone being trapped in a hole that was then wrapped up.
And while the movie was 90% silliness there was also heart, and some inspirational moment. And a lot of messages about the importance of friendship and perseverance. After all someone who can try to catch the same bird for decades has gotta have a lot of perseverance. The movie refers to this by even having refrences to the legend of Sisyphus, you know the guy who was cursed to push a boulder up a hill, for eternity.
I also freaking love seeing loony logic and real world collisions. The way the movie handled it graphically was a visual delight. They also at times worked in old footage from the many years of Loony Toons which was fun to.
It's rare that I go into a movie theatre, but this was an instance it was 100% worth it.
In short, fantastic movie that is exactly what it is advertised as.
