A chaos byk ogromny, bo powakacyjny i przeprowadzkowy naraz.
Ulga.
Yesterday was my most depressing day of the year, and I hope it's the only one like it and that things will only get better from here, because it was truly awful. It actually started okay; I dropped off the kids, did some grocery shopping, and sat down to work with a coffee. Since I'm pretty much redundant there now, work was limited to sending three emails, and I could get down to tackling the chaos at home. And the chaos was huge, being both post-vacation and mid-move at the same time. And the tidying up went worse than I thought, meaning I actually did an incredible amount—washing the floors alone took an hour, and before it even got to the state where I could wash them—i.e., I unpacked a lot of junk and tidied up the kids' toys—I won't even say how much time had passed. But during this work, I kept falling deeper into apathy and discouragement. And finally, when I went to pick up the kids, instead of being energetic and enthusiastic, I greeted them with a long face. The afternoon was pure evil; I think shouting or crying in a corner would have helped me, but it was impossible because everywhere I moved, two little creatures followed me. I wanted to go shopping at Jysk to break out of this funk, but even that didn't work out.
What finally helped? An evening cuddle, as the kids fell asleep on me. Their calm breathing and sweet-smelling heads. Relief.
