I found a unique insect from the Coreidae family, namely from the Genus Mictis. This insect is known as a type of plant-sucking ladybird, and has a fairly distinctive body shape—elongated flat with relatively long antennae, and hind legs that appear wide like leaves.
The interesting characteristics of Mictis that I found were its abdomen which was visible from the side of the body, and its wings which were grayish brown with a skin-like texture. These insects usually live on plants, and are often found near leguminous plants or tall grass.
They are herbivorous insects, which suck fluids from the stems or fruit of plants using their needle-shaped mouthparts (proboscis). Although not dangerous to humans, some species can be mild pests on agricultural land.
