My Super Red Arowana — Prima Blue Base

This is my Super Red, Prima Blue Base. I don't need to explain too much because you can already see it in the photo. When the light hits from the top, that's when the real color comes out. The edge of every scale is red, then in the middle there's this bluish tone. That's the Blue Base. It's not just flat red. It has depth.

I only feed him superworms. I'm the one who feeds him every day, so I know when he's hungry, when he's full, and when he's too lazy to swim. When I walk up to the tank, he swims up to me too. He's not the type of fish that hides. He's used to me.

Look at his body in the pic. It's clean, complete, and the tail has no tears. The fin underneath is long and neat. His eyes are clear and alert. His mouth closes properly. For me, that's the most important part. Not just color. The fish has to be complete.

He's already 5 years old. I got him back in 2021 when he was still small and pale. Back then, you couldn't really see the color yet. But I knew what he would become. Day by day, month by month, the red started to come out. Now that he's matured, the blue base is really showing.

For maintenance, every 3 days I do a water change. I change 30 percent. Every time I change water, I add 1 cup of salt, 100ml vitamins, 100ml blackwater extract, and anti-chlorine. I also clean and change the filter every water change. That's my routine for 5 years, and I think that's why his color and body stayed clean and healthy. It's a lot of work, but worth it.

If you also keep one like this, you know the feeling. He's not just a display at home. He's like a companion you see every day. After a long day at work, I just sit in front of the tank and watch him swim. It takes away the stress.

For me, keeping an Arowana is not just a hobby. It's patience. You feed, you clean, you take care of the water. And in return, he shows you his best colors.

This is my Prima Blue Base Red. Hope you like him as much as I do.
