Green and Gold are the colours of Australia... and currently, our garden is awash in those two vibrant colours... making our home look like a national tourism advertisement!

Out the front and back near the house, the bulbs have been tricked into blooming a little bit earlier, with the daffodils making a nice vibrant layer in the beds that are near the windows!

And further out on the driveway there are these flowers which are a bit daisy-like but are on a sort of mystery bush that has survived our initial clearing of the shrubbery overgrowth around our house. Normally, this bush looks a bit manky... but that is more than made up for during these flowering seasons when it is clothed in these vibrant yellows flowers!

... and the wattles are also out in full swing, we have two main types of wattles in our garden area... this one, which produces bright yellow sprays of petals in a ball, but they quickly pass away...

... and these gentler wispy brush-like yellow greens that I prefer... although they don't look quite as nice in a photo!

However, both of them unleash sprays and gusts of pollen... which both of our cars are coated with!

... and then finally, these spiky plants with razor sharp spines that my wife hates... and I'm not fond of them when they tear up my gardening clothes... or worse, lance straight through my gloves. I've learnt not to pick up cuttings directly, but to use the tools like chopsticks to carry them to the bin!

But, in these flowering seasons... they do make these lovely ball bursts of yellow!
