Hello, internet folk – how’s it going? Today, as part of this initiative, we’re going to talk about our family members’ favourite singers. In this case, I’ll be talking about my mum’s favourite, who is none other than the ‘Father of Latin America’, Chayanne.
Hola, gente de Internet ¿todo bien? Hoy en esta iniciativa tenemos que hablar de los cantantes preferidos de nuestros familiares, en este caso yo hablaré del favorito de mi mamá y es nada ynada menos que el padre de latinoamerica, Chayanne
My mum told me she first came across this brilliant ballad singer through the 1990 song ‘Tiempo de Vals’; she said it was ‘love at first sight’, not just because of how handsome he was (the typical Latin lover) but because of that velvety voice that’s so characteristic of him
Mi mami me dijo que conoció a este excelenete baladista mediante "Tiempo de Vals" canción de 1990, dijo que fue "amor aprimera vista" no solo por lo guapo que era (el típico latin lover) sino por esa voz aterciopelada muy característica de él
Later, after hearing his ‘upbeat’ songs as well, she also realised what an excellent dancer he is – another thing that caught her attention
Posteriormente al oir también sus canciones "alegres" también se dio cuenta delexcelente bailarín que es, otro punto que llamó su atención
The truth is that Chayanne has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. By the time I was born, my mum had already been a fan of Chayanne for five years, so I don’t remember hearing him for the ‘first time’, but I do have memories of one album in particular – ‘Simplemente’ from 2000 – and, in fact, I remember that my dad gave that album to my mum as a present and she was absolutely delighted.
La verdad es que Chayanne es parte de mi vida desde que tengo uso de razon, para cuando yo nací, mi mamá ya tenía 5 años siendo fan de Chayanne asi que no recuerdo haberlo oido una "primera vez" pero si tengo recuerdos de un disco en específico "Simplemente" de 2000 y de hecho, recuerdo que mi papá de regalo, le regaló ese disco ami mamá y ella estaba muy feliz
A year later, my mum fulfilled her dream of seeing him perform live at the V de Oro concert. Chayanne sang his hits from the 90s, such as ‘Este ritmo se baila así’, ‘Fiesta en América’, ‘Candela’, ‘Ay mamá’, ‘Boom Bomom’ and ‘Torero’, amongst other hits.
Un año más tarde, mi mamá cumplió su sueño de verlo actuar en vivo en el concierto de la V de oro, Chayanne cantó sus exitos de los 90's como "este ritmo se baila así" "fiesta en America" "Candela" "ay mamá" "Boom Bomom" y "Torero" entre otros éxitos
My fondest memory of that day – even though I was only six years old – is seeing the look of joy on my mum’s face when she saw him. It’s something that, if I had the means, I would without a doubt try to make happen for her again, as I’ve never seen her so happy, and I’d do anything for her. I’d love to see that look in her eyes again, and as a fan of other singers and bands, I know the kind of happiness an artist can bring you.
Mi mejor recuerdo deese día pese a que tenía 6 años es ver la cara de alegría de mi mamá al verlo, es algo que si tuviera los medios sin lugar a dudas intentaría cumplirle de nuevo ya que jamás la he visto así de feliz y por ella haría todo, me encantaría ver esa expresión en sus ojos de nuevo y como fan de otros cantantes y grupos se cual es la felicidad que un artista puede darte
At the moment, although I wouldn’t exactly call myself a fan, he is one of my favourite Latin singers; there are so many of his songs that I know, enjoy and tend to listen to every now and then whilst I’m working – to me, he’s a great singer too
Actualmente aunque no me puedo considerar fan como tal, si que es uno de los cantantes latinos que más me gustan, son demasiadas las canciones que me se, que disfruto y que suelo oir de vez en cuando cuando trabajo, para mi es un gran cantante también
