A few weeks ago I decided to subscribe to Paramount+ to watch Ryan Garcia knock Conor Benn out. Don’t see myself watching a lot of Zuffa boxing, but I figured I’d check some movies out while I’m subscribed to the Paramount+ service.
I took a chance on a movie called Tuner after reading the description of what the movie was about, and ended up watching one of the best movies I’ve seen this year.
The movie Tuner follows a guy working as a piano tuner. He has a condition that makes his hearing super sensitive, which helps him be really good at his job. Throughout the movie he discovers his super-sensitive hearing to be useful in other ways which makes the tuner useful to a crime boss who takes him along for a wild journey while working for the crime boss.
The movie gives you a damn good high stakes drama, intense situations, sparing use of good action, and a good non-cheesy love story that works with the plot. All of the characters are really good. The main character is a likable, low-key, chill guy. The love interest isn’t dumb and incompetent, she’s actually cool. And the old man tuner that the main character did his apprenticeship with was just dope af, can’t help but love that guy.
But the movie Tuner is so good that I’m forcing my lady to watch it with me as I rewatch the movie. The movie is like a mix between Daredevil, Baby Driver, and Whiplash packaged in a high-stakes drama with a really good storyline. Seriously one of the best movies of the year, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you have Paramount+, this is a must-watch movie. Overall I rate Tuner
9.1/10
