Greetings, travel and adventure lovers! Today I'm sharing a lovely trail that’s perfect for the whole family. Located in Vila Nova de Ceira (Góis), this spot is just under 250 km from Lisbon and is part of one of the most iconic scenic adventures in the Lousã mountain range—where we previously visited a beautiful castle! Enjoy this experience, which covers a little over 2 km.🌍🚩
¡Saludos, amantes de los viajes y las aventuras! Hoy les traigo un sendero bastante bonito y apto para toda la familia. Se ubica en Vila Nova de Ceira, en Góis. Esta aventura está a poco menos de 250 km desde Lisboa y forma parte de una de las aventuras paisajísticas más emblemáticas de la sierra de Lousã, ¡donde ya estuvimos visitando un bonito castillo en posts pasados! Disfruta esta experiencia de poco más de 2 km.🏔️🧭
Regarding the location of the trail, honestly, it is best visited using a personal or rented vehicle; these areas are very isolated and lack easily accessible public transport. The hike takes just under two hours, and during that short time, I saw people getting out of cars to start the climb—no one arrived by public transport.🚩🌍
Sobre la localización del sendero, honestamente, sería algo para visitar en vehículo propio o alquilado. Estas zonas son muy aisladas y no hay transporte público de fácil acceso. El sendero se realiza en poco menos de 2 horas y en ese corto tiempo vi a personas bajándose de coches y subiendo; nadie venía en transporte.📸🗺️

Facil de circular, y apto para toda la familia, especialmente ninos, (no apto para personas en sillas de ruedas)📍

A golden tip: if you come in the summer, the heat is extreme, so bring water, snacks, hiking boots, sunscreen, and hats.📍

The trail is linear—meaning you return along the same path you started on. It has about 450 steps; it could be exhausting if you try to rush through it, so it is better to take your time, pause, rest, drink water, and enjoy the scenery.🗺️📸
El sendero es lineal, lo que significa que se regresa por el mismo camino por el que se empezó. Cuenta con unos 450 escalones; recorrerlo a toda prisa puede resultar agotador, por lo que es mejor tomarse su tiempo, hacer pausas, descansar, beber agua y disfrutar del paisaje.🌍🚙

For me, one of the most interesting things to do in Góis is to wander through the Schist Villages—mystical, historic settlements built from a distinctive type of stone—and to visit castles, fortresses, river beaches, and museums, among other attractions.📸🚩
Para mí, una de las cosas más interesantes que hacer en Góis es pasear por las Aldeas de Xisto, unos pueblos míticos e históricos construidos con un tipo de piedra muy particular, además de visitar castillos, fortalezas, playas fluviales y museos, entre otras atracciones.🌍🏔️🏞️

The Cabril do Ceira is a gorge carved by the Ceira River as it cuts through a quartzite mountain, featuring a small weir that holds back the water to form a natural pool. It is a popular spot in the summer that attracts families who come to sunbathe or swim in the river. The area is also an interesting location for hiking and cycling, and it features a cave that can be explored and climbed.🚩📍
El "Cabril do Ceira" es un desfiladero que se creó por el mismo río Ceira al atravesar una montaña de roca de cuarcita. Cuenta con un azud para retener el agua del río y formar una pequeña piscina natural. Es bastante concurrido en verano, cuando muchas familias vienen allí para tomar el sol o bañarse. Además, es un lugar de interés para el senderismo o el ciclismo, y cuenta con una cueva que se puede explorar y escalar.🌍📸
We were pleasantly surprised by the experience; my daughter even took a dip in the river—which was freezing, by the way (I’m not a fan of cold water myself!). It makes for a lovely day out, though the only downside is that there is nowhere to sit or buy anything. That’s why you need to come fully prepared with water, food, chairs, towels, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hat. Hiking boots are also recommended because the path down to the river is a bit rugged. However, I wouldn't advise doing this in the winter, as the area gets very cold and rainy.📍🚩
Nos quedamos sorprendidos por esta experiencia. Mi hija se bañó en el río, que por cierto estaba frío (¡yo no soy muy fan de las aguas frías!). Se pasa un día agradable, pero lo único malo es que no hay donde sentarse ni comprar algo; por eso tienes que venir súper preparado con agua, comida, sillas, toallas, repelente, bloqueador y sombrero. También se recomiendan botas de excursión, ya que el camino para llegar al río es un poco rústico. No te aconsejo hacer esto en invierno, pues esta zona es muy fría y llueve mucho.🏞️🏔️
