โBefore there is a vegetable to harvest, there is a beautiful flower to admire.โ

Hello everyone,, hello hive friends, hope everyone's doing great today where ever part of the world you are right now...
Today, I came across our neighbor's sponge gourd plant. Just a few weeks ago, I passed by here and saw that it was still small, with only a few leaves and no flowers yet. But when I visited again today, I was surprised to see how much it had grown! Its leaves had become so lush, and it was already covered with many flowers and fruits. The plant is growing along their concrete fence,, and its vines have even spread across the electric wires. It already has some large fruits, although they are not yet ready to be harvested for cooking. Sponge gourd tastes delicious when added to miswa soup,,, especially during the rainy season. It gives the soup a wonderful aroma and makes it even more appetizing. It can also be added to pancit, one of the popular dishes often served during Filipino celebrations and special occasions.

It also has many flowers that may soon develop into more fruits. The bees seem to be enjoying the blossoms as they keep coming back to collect nectar from the flowers.
My neighbor told me that I could take some whenever I wanted to cook it. They only cook sponge gourd occasionally, and they said it would just go to waste if nobody picked some.
