After stitching her wound, Ellie observed a group of Rattlers execute an escaping prisoner. Using the new silenced submachine gun, I quietly eliminated several guards and a patrol dog before safely clearing and looting the abandoned train station waiting room for valuable supplies.
Searching for the tall, collapsed building next to the resort, Ellie paused to stitch up the open wound on her belly. The quiet was shattered by distant gunfire and shouting as a group of heavily armed Rattlers shot down a prisoner attempting to escape.
Having previously acquired a silenced submachine gun, I readied the weapon, knowing its stealth capabilities would prove invaluable for clearing the hostile perimeter.
The Rattlers immediately split up to search the area for any accomplices who might have assisted the runner. Taking advantage of the silenced firearm, I picked off the first guard without making a sound.
A quick survey of the area revealed another Rattler maintaining a watchful patrol nearby; I timed my movement and took him down cleanly before he could raise an alarm.
Continuing my recon, I spotted a guard patrolling with a attack dog. Recognizing the size of the compound and the potential number of enemies stationed across the road, I chose to fall back into cover and wait for an optimal angle rather than risking an open firefight.
Positioned safely at a distance, I shot a lone guard standing nearby. As expected, the handler with the dog discovered the fresh corpse moments later and moved in to investigate.
The second he stepped into line of sight, I dropped the handler with a quick burst and followed up by taking down the dog before it could catch my scent.
With the exterior guards eliminated, I moved inside to inspect the interior of the nearby building. Finding the area clear of immediate threats, I began searching the space for useful crafting supplies and ammunition while maintaining low noise.
The location turned out to be an abandoned train station waiting room, filled with forgotten luggage left behind by travelers at the outbreak of the apocalypse.
Scavenging through the baggage gave me a solid haul of supplies to restock my inventory.
