It is already too later to get out of the city, unless you already have a place to run to. (for this period of missing fuel, which will last about 6 months)
Fortunately, this will probably be a quite calm economic breakdown. The food deliveries will only be spotty, instead of just missing. There will still be dollars, although we will hear of more countries ditching them. The banks will still be open,… for a time.
So, stock up on food and wait this one out.
But, seriously, plan your escape.
The only real problem with these mock-umentaries is that there is this "stable" govern-cement on the outside. And the mission itself is quite ludicrous. But the world, is absolutely spot on.
In Escape from New York, the govern-cement closed it off and used it as a penal colony. However, the real way it comes about is anyone who can escape, did. And as it got worse, the number of truckers who would go into that city reduced to zero. You couldn't escape because all of the cars on the bridges that ran out of gas.
Los Angles is much the same. **EL NIÑO is coming. And so much on the coast is going to be washed away. Gov. Nuisance will make it too expensive to drive a truck into that state. With fuel banned, and 100s of miles of desert in any direction, if you are stuck there, you can't escape.
But, really, this is going to happen to all the major cities. If crime isn't cleaned up. If the streets aren't cleaned up. Then the higher IQ people, the ones with resources and smarts, will leave the area. "White Flight" means the smart people see that its going downhill and left.
If you want food, real nutritious food, in the future, you will need a greenhouse. (with hail shields)
So, do you have a place to build a greenhouse? Does your neighbors have a place to also build a greenhouse?
This will be the minimum you need to survive.
The supermarkets will become empty buildings. And before that they will be filled with poison. Before that, food will be spotty. Empty shelves will move around the store.
There will be a move towards getting food that isn't poisoned.
Many organic farmers will see a windfall as sales skyrocket.
There will not be much time (speaking in years) between "Know your local farmer" and "You are your farmer"
Make plans for growing your own food. The alternative is eating Ze Bugz and poison. That stuff will seriously give you cancer.
Everything you need to survive, that is at the store right now, is ON SALE.
Silver is on sale at $67 an ounce. Beef is on sale at $10 a pound. Gas is on sale at $5 a gallon
Coffee, cream, cans of pasta sauce, all of that is on sale.
Everything that is shipped in, will soon have a "fuel-tax" on it. If it is available. Meaning, it will be even MORE expensive when it is in stock.
Every can of food you buy now (THAT YOU WILL EAT) will become the greatest investment you have ever made. Buy what you eat, eat what you buy. And buy a little extra each time you go to the store. Stock things that will keep on the shelf. Electricity will probably be spotty too.
It will probably be about six months before the fuel thing works itself out.
Something to realize: Diesel is the fuel that runs the world. Most big rigs are diesel. The trains are diesel. That big equipment that mines everything, runs on diesel.
Gasoline is a byproduct of making diesel. Gasoline goes bad pretty quick. The oil refineries have to get rid of the stuff PDQ. Of course they try to get as much out of your pocketbook as possible, however, it is not valuable like diesel is.
I say this so you can grok why fuel prices, and the imposed limits mean. You will see gasoline at $9 a gallon, and diesel at $6 a gallon, but only purchasable if you have a govern-cement card that says you can buy some. Or something like this. Diesel will be rationed. Gasoline will just be pricey.
As truckers get stranded without fuel for their rigs, goods get stranded too. Food deliveries will be spotty. You will see tomato sauce on shelves, then gone next week, then back the next. Then another food item will be missing.
Do not freak out and try to drive to all the stores (wasting fuel) to get that one item. Just make alternative plans. We aren't to the mother WEFers cutting off food and rounding up people into FEMA camps yet, but that is coming.
You will be thankful for every can you stock up on.
