Happy Saturday, appreciated Shadow Hunters community! Welcome to my participation in the round #441 of the SMASH contest and well, I was looking for the most convenient time to hunt shadows since Thursday but it has been cloudy and with intermittent rains since Thursday due to the tropical wave that was passing through the Caribbean. But this Saturday was quite clear, so I planned my outing for two very important things: buying beers to spend the night talking and playing Splinterlands, and second, hunting a good shadow to share with you in this edition of the SMASH contest.

The day was hot, and here in this part of the Caribbean, there's no middle ground with the weather. It's either scorching hot or completely overcast with heavy rain that clogs up highways. Today we had sun and heat at 110%, and the worst part was that I was wearing a black t-shirt and flannel! I was practically boiling in the heat in the historic center of Caracas. The truth is, in these forgotten corners, yet full of history, there are some great places to buy beer, but what I realized is that beyond the people walking, the traffic, and the noise of the motorcycles, the shadows cast by the streets of the historic center are enough to make your imagination run wild! From the wide, long shadows left by the tall buildings that envelop the sidewalks where you walk, to the shadows of motorcycles, vehicles, and people just passing through, but the 1 pm sun silhouettes them, creating interesting compositions.

Feliz sábado apreciada comunidad de Shadow Hunters! Bienvenidos a mi participación en el round #441 del concurso SMASH y pues, estaba buscando el momento más conveniente para cazar sombras desde el jueves pero ha estado nublado y con lluvias intermitentes desde el jueves por la onda tropical que estaba pasando por el caribe. Pero este sábado el día estaba bastante despejado, así que planifique mi salida para 2 cosas muy importantes: comprar cervezas para pasar la noche hablando y jugando Splinterlands y segundo cazar una buena sombra para compartirles en esta edición del concurso SMASH.

El día estaba caluroso y es que aquí en esta parte del caribe no hay termino medio para el clima o hace un calor inclemente o esta completamente nublado con lluvias fuertes que colapsan autopistas. Hoy tuvimos sol y calor al 110% y lo peor del asunto es que llevaba camiseta y franela negra! Me estaba sancochando con el calor que estaba haciendo em el centro histórico de Caracas. El hecho cierto es que en estas esquinas olvidadas pero llenas de historias hay muy buenos lugares donde comprar cervezas, pero de lo que me di cuenta es que más allá de la gente caminando, del tráfico y el bullicio de las motos, las sombras que genera las calles del casco histórico, es para hacer volar la imaginación! desde las amplias y largas sombras que dejan los altos edificios que arropan las aceras donde caminas, hasta la de motos, vehículos y personas que solo están de paso pero el sol de la 1 pm los siluetea dejando interesantes composiciones.

Pero en esta ocasión noté una sombra que pasaba desapercibida y era la del tendido eléctrico! El robar la luz conectándose al tendido público no es un fenómeno exclusivo de Venezuela, puedes verlo en cualquier país de Latam, particularmente en el interior del país la maraña de cables es más densa en el interior del país. Pero en este caso, el cielo al estar despejado e irradiando en todo su esplendor permitía un gran contraste de la sombra de los cables con el suelo, y allí aproveche la oportunidad para capturar la sombra del poste que parece estar atravesado por 3 líneas del tendido eléctrico. Parecía entonces el nido de una araña proyectando sus largas telarañas en 3 direcciones diferentes de la ciudad, propagándose a lo largo de la calle y las esquinas del centro de Caracas. Era como imaginar una red de sombras extendiéndose por la ciudad con el sol del medio día.

Espero que les haya gustado esta interesante sombra que capture para el concurso SMASH amigos. Ya la semana que viene comenzaré actividades nuevamente en la universidad y no se si tenga otras oportunidades como esta para hacer largas caminatas por la ciudad cazando sombras mientras iba de compras por cervezas, pero siempre que encuentre oportunidad para escaparme un momento, siempre tendré la cámara de mi móvil lista para cazar algunas sombras.
