It's been a bit since I posted about something metals-related. No, I haven't lost my appreciation for gold and silver. I've mainly been busy with kids getting into new hobbies, but also because I haven't really purchased anything in a while. Not purchasing gold and silver doesn't leave much left to talk about other than speculation, and there are plenty of people doing that already.
I took my fondle stash out to look at it, since it's been a while. I grabbed one of the pieces from Asahi and noticed something any collector hates to see: milk spots! What's worse is they're on a more collectible piece from their "American Reserve" line.

Sadly, there's nothing that can be done. Sometimes spots like these can take years to show up. Either way it's frustrating and disappointing. I'm just glad I didn't buy a whole tube of these. I don't care about milk spots on bullion, but on pieces with a higher premium it stings. Unless spot price increases significantly you'll likely sell at a loss. This is something to always be mindful of when buying pieces with a higher premium.
