Lately, sadness has washed over both my heart and my dear husband's; we are still struggling to process everything we’ve been through this year. Sometimes we try to live as if nothing happened, but reality slaps us in the face time and again—though we also realize it is our responsibility not to let these hardships destroy us.
Despite everything, life keeps offering us new opportunities. I believe happiness is found in moments—moments that arrive unexpectedly, but also moments we should actively seek out.
Today, we treated ourselves to an outing, setting aside our complaints and sadness to make room for moments that bring pleasure and joy. There’s a bakery near where I live now that makes delicious coffee, and their pastries are usually fresh and tasty. The coffee and treats aren't cheap, but happiness is priceless, and we certainly know how to enjoy moments like these.
Coffee and a pastry might sound simple to some, but that is precisely the key: enjoying the things that seem simple. I love going to a good bakery, sitting at an outdoor table, waiting for friendly service, and—once the coffee arrives—enjoying it with a strawberry tart like the one I had today. Everything was perfect! My husband, on the other hand, prefers to pair his coffee with a very generous slice of guava bread 🤭.
Honestly, we had a great couple of hours; we forgot about our many problems for a moment and just savored our coffees—they were delicious! We bought two small cappuccinos—having already had two large ones earlier (yes, a total coffee binge, but please understand: right now, we struggle to enjoy coffee at all during the week).
We had our moment of happiness; we’re back home now, and the problems are still there, but there’s nothing that can’t be fixed by a tasty cup of coffee paired with a favorite sweet treat 😌
Estos últimos días la tristeza inundó mi corazón y el de mí querido esposo, es que aún nos cuesta asimilar todo lo que nos ha tocado vivir este año, a veces tratamos de vivir como si nada hubiese pasado, pero la realidad nos abofetea una y otra vez, aunque también estamos conscientes de que tenemos la responsabilidad en no dejar que las vicisitudes nos destruyan.
A pesar de todo, la vida nos sigue ofreciendo nuevas oportunidades y creo que la felicidad solo son momentos, momentos que vienen sin buscarlo, pero también momentos que deberíamos buscar.
Hoy nos dimos el gusto de salir, dejar la queja y la tristeza a un lado para darle cabida a esos momentos que dan placer y alegría, aquí en donde vivo ahora, queda una panadería que hace un café muy rico y los dulces normalmente están frescos y deliciosos, el costo del café y los dulces no son baratos Pero la felicidad no tiene precio y nosotros si que sabemos disfrutar momentos así.
Un café y un dulce para algunos puede sonar simple, pero precisamente allí está la clave en disfrutar de esas cosas que a veces nos parecen simples, amo ir a una buena panadería, sentarme en una mesa al aire libre, esperar que me atienda alguien amable y cuando me sirven el café, disfrutarlo con una tartaleta de fresa como la que me comí hoy, todo fue perfecto! Mi esposo prefiere acompañar su café con una porción bien generosa de pan de Guayaba 🤭
Sinceramente pasamos un par de horas geniales, nos olvidamos por un instante de tantos problemas y nos dedicamos a saborear nuestros cafecitos que estaban bien ricos! Compramos dos capuchinos pequeños, porque antes habíamos tomado dos capuchinos grandes, si, toda una locura de café, pero entiendan por favor, en este momento tenemos dificultades para disfrutar del café en toda la semana.
Tuvimos nuestro instante de felicidad, estamos de vuelta en casa, los problemas siguen allí, pero no hay nada que no pueda arreglar una rica taza de café acompañado de ese dulce preferido 😌
