Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share another day in my life with you. This time, I want to tell you about my first official performance with the Cerro Bolívar choir. A few days ago, I posted a video here on the platform of a song we sang for that event—a song called “María Pancha.” I’ve included the link below so you can check it out. This post focuses on how that day went for the choir and for me, since it was also my first time attending a Ferrominera event. Here’s what happened.
On Friday, September 4, the Ferrominera Sports Games kicked off, and we were invited to sing the national anthem and perform two songs. The mood for the event was one of celebration and joy, so we sang songs that fit the occasion perfectly: “María Pancha” and “Los Dos Gavilanes.” I knew the latter song well because we sing it quite often in Canticum Merú, so I was well prepared for that one, and I was also ready for “María Pancha” because I love everything about that song. I usually sing it a lot at home—it’s really beautiful. We were going to sing “Apure en un viaje,” but it turned out it was better to save it for another time. I felt excited that day because I was singing with so many people, and I also think the presence of my friend and fellow singer, Liusmer, had a lot to do with it—she’s someone who’s been singing her whole life and has supported me on this journey with the chorus.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les quiero contar sobre mi primera presentación oficial con la coral de Cerro Bolívar. Hace unos días monte por acá en la plataforma el vídeo de una canción que nosotros cantamos para ese evento, canción que se llama María Pancha. Dejo el enlace abajo para que vayan a verlo. Esta publicación va enfocada a cómo fue ese día para la coral y para mí ya que también era la primera vez en la que iba a un evento de Ferrominera. Aquí les cuento sobre ello.
Para el día viernes 4 de septiembre se inauguraron los Juegos Deportivos de Ferrominera y nosotros fuimos invitados para cantar el himno nacional y cantar dos canciones. Los ánimos para ese evento eran los de celebración y alegría, así que cantamos algo bastante acorde: "María Pancha" y "Los Dos Gavilanes". Esta última canción la conocía bien porque nosotras en Canticum Merú la cantamos bastante, así que por ese lado estaba bien preparada y con "María Pancha" también porque me gusta mucho todo acerca de esa canción. La suelo cantar mucho en casa, es muy linda. Íbamos a cantar "Apure en un viaje", pero se revolvió que mejor era dejarlo para otro momento. Para este día me sentía emocionada porque cantar con los muchos y también creo que tiene mucho que ver la presencia de mi amiga y compañera, Liusmer, quién es alguien que tiene toda su vida cantando y me ha apoyado en este camino de los coros.
We arrived around 3:30 p.m. to warm up our voices before heading to the opening ceremony. We spent a little while there, but then we headed out to the stadium since everything was set to begin at 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, there were already quite a few people there—both workers and their family members. We gathered in the stands on the right and waited there until we were given the signal to sing. Our teacher, Proto, organized us by section, making sure we could all get to the microphone. I have to say the event ran later than expected, and we sang a little later than planned, but we finally did it. I could barely hear everyone at first, but then, when I listened to the recordings, I could make out everything. I think we did pretty well. Finally, when the event ended, we shared a small snack and sang “Happy Birthday” for my family. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
Llegamos a eso de las 3:30 pm para vocalizar antes de ir a la inauguración. Tardamos un poco allí, pero luego salimos al estadio pues todo comenzaba a las 4:00 pm. Llegamos y ya había bastante gente, tanto trabajadores cómo familiares de los trabajadores. Nosotros nos reunimos en las gradas de la derecha y allí estuvimos esperando hasta que se nos diera la orden de cantar. Nuestro profesor Proto nos organizó por cuerda, asegurando que todos pudiéramos acceder al micrófono. Debo decir que el evento se retraso más de lo esperado y cantamos un poco más tarde, pero finalmente lo hicimos. Casi no podía escucharlos a todos, pero luego en la grabaciones, pude notar todo. Creo que lo hicimos bastante bien. Finalmente cuando culminó el evento, compartimos un pequeño refrigerio y cantamos el cumpleaños para mí familia.
