[Music] A song full of musical experiments and social controversies. "Rain"- 1966

This time I'm going to talk about a contradictory, controversial, yet extraordinary song, both for its lyrics, music, and what it expresses. I'm referring to the song "Rain," a superb track recorded for the Revolver album sessions, but not included on it. Instead, it was released as a single in July 1966 along with the song "Paperback Writer," the latter being the A-side and "Rain" the B-side.

I was impressed by the experimental recording techniques, as they were already experimenting with vocals and instruments played in reverse. Everything was constantly being innovated, and sometimes LSD took center stage back then. That's why I said at the beginning that the song is controversial, since it's always been claimed that this track was a product of hallucinations induced by this drug. Whether or not that claim is true doesn't detract from the fact that they were excellent and unique musicians, because for me, that's circumstantial.

Leaving aside the previous point, it's a pleasure for me to hear Ringo's drums, perfectly synchronized, along with the chords and vocals of Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison in the backing vocals, and of course, the rhythm guitar, bass, and lead guitar, respectively, all under George Martin's direction.

Three promotional videos were made for this song, and today I'm presenting one of them. Returning to the topic of music videos, in a way they were precursors to what the world would later know as MTV. I believe this, and many critics agree, so this is another of the virtues of the long-haired lads from Liverpool. Of the three videos, one was filmed in black and white. Listening to Lennon's lead vocals treated with a kind of background that included slowing them down so that when played on a normal device, it sounded as if the singer were immersed in a rainy or difficult environment... How ingenious and wonderful they are...!!!... This magnificent song was recorded in London at EMI Studios, and the video I'm sharing with you was filmed in the gardens of Chiswick House, London.
