Hello all of you Splinterheads. As usual, another busy month in the trenches and plenty of moving pieces as we work to round out the year strong. Let's take a quick run through the highlights so I can get back on the grind.
I'm still working with the team to design, test and build the next core set, a miniset, and some other projects that will be revealed in time. It's too early to spill every detail, but there's a lot of solid work happening behind the scenes on balance, abilities, and making sure these things feel right when they land. We still have plenty of testing to do, but you'll see some of these things coming into production very soon.
We've also been working with developers to upgrade and harden the DAO bridges in lieu of all the cybersecurity issues going on as well as exploring our options for bridging DEC to BASE. Infrastructure work isn't the flashiest, but keeping these things solid and secure while looking towards growth is critical. The upgrades are currently in testing.
On the fiscal side, I've been working with the team and Dave to facilitate the credits.for.dec conversions and make sure we have a solid strategy heading into the next core set that's targeting Q1 2027. Credit purchases have been slightly slower this month, but still strong enough to support our obligations. We will pause the DAO's DEC selling for November. The team still has a bit of DEC in their coffers and enabling them to use it now should strengthen the DAO's DEC position leading into the next core set.
I also spent some time evaluating the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund. After speaking to many community members and seeing how the last proposal went, I felt it was time to pull the plug. There's currently a draft proposal up to let the DAO decide if it wants to end it. Always better to let the community weigh in on these things. I feel like it was a good try, but it's also critical to recognize if something isn't working and take the out that was built in before we create a significant problem.
