[dpoll] Are you staying on STEEM, moving to new HIVE or trying to do both?

DIFFICULT CHOICES

I'm usually avoiding dpoll, however today I would like to ask everyone reading this post to take a minute and either join dpoll or reply in comment section (preferably both options).

Many users seem to be willing to move to HIVE, some are planning to stay behind and majority doesn't seem to know exactly what to do and is intending to be active on both chains.

Myself I found myself unsure what to do. Being active on one chain has been costing me few hours of daily engagement. Trying to achieve same thing on both could be very difficult. For that reason I'm going to slow down with my activity for upcoming few weeks and observe what other users are going to do.

For that reason I would like to learn how many users are planning to move, stay or try both chains. Spare few minutes and help me out with this research.

Ciao @crypto.piotr! I just saw a note that you'd made some 3 yrs ago, as I popped back into Steem, to check a balance I still have there.... To answer your Q from all that time ago; I moved over to Hive immediately, as soon as I could! E basta! I am very happily interwoven in multiple communities there.

Never looked back: just there to pick up residual credit and move it over to my Hive wallet :-)

I'm 100% on Hive. My participation in the blockchain was always 100% voluntary. Then, when strong arm tactics took over Steemit, the environment became unacceptable. Hive, is 100% voluntary again. I can choose what I like and don't like. The community can respond as it will.
However, I'm not angry at the people who stayed behind on Steemit. I developed relationships (virtual) with some of them. Whatever their reasons for staying, that's OK. I still have voting power there and will use those votes to help them. Over time (when my delegations have expired), I guess I'll be powering down and then I won't have the option of voting for them anymore. So...Hive on. I always loved bees :)

I hear you on the whole not sure what to do but I didn't like the way JSun approached the whole thing, making posts about making steem a tron token, the information war, conflicting feeling with tron genesis stake voting, colluding with exchanges, among other things. I wanted to trust the guy and not that I think the soft-fork was the best thing to do either. Alas power down in effect... Makes me sad because I never thought that would happen. I will be using both HIVE and STEEM ( I use APPICS and they at least for now are on STEEM for some reason). I have read that there is a legal challenge for the use of HIVE as a name/token by a Canadian company too, I hope this won't cause issues for this new awesome Blockchain fork.

My answer:

Just like you will wait few weeks to see what other users do, which has nothing wrong I think, we already have been researching what are doing the users, projects and witnesses we trust are doing. Most of them moveds to Hive, some 100%, some partial, but definitely the majority are going to be focused on HIVE, today, there's even some users waiting to posts on steem to payout to powerdown and move 100% to hive. Honestly, we do not understand deeply how the chain works, we're here still here for the content and relationships so, if a lot of people we follow, we care and we like to read are moving to HIVE, we'll do so, if in the future they move to another one, we migth be doing the same, not because of the platform itself but because of the people, if we stay in STEEM or if we are in any other platform and there's no one interesting to read then it is completly pointless.

One advantaje here is that HIVE did not started from scratch, but was like a 'continuation' to STEEM, starting in HIVE with the same balances from STEEM is a huge positive deal to be "starting". Watching it from JUST the money side, the money just doubld out of nothing. Which we all should not hide, it is great and of course helps the 'continuation', beside that, it does not matter if your account is small or big one, if you power down on STEEM and move 100% to HIVE, 'in theory' you have just doubled your account balances on HIVE.

Particulary, STEEM still has some value for us, there's a lot of users that we trust and I think they trust us and heve not decided to move to HIVE yet and they all still deserve support, but, we'll keep it as secondary, posting first on HIVE, and then on STEEM.

Our main reason to move to HIVE is that it seems like there is some 'real support', at least now during the early days. We have been in STEEM for two years, and on HIVE for about a week, our posts on HIVE have had way better results than posts on STEEM, exact same content and posting time, with even less votes, something to think about when deciding where to stay for sure. We'll be making a detailed comparisson post about this posts here and there soon!

Thanks for the donat. Currently I plan to be present on two sites. Although many interesting projects (sports) have switched to hive. Why this is the case: a situation similar to that of the time was the analog of the steemit platform golos. So based on that, I can say that after the split, most active users stayed here and there.

I'm a numbers guy, so while I assume HIVE is the way to go, I need to give STEEM a chance to show whether or not it if profitable.

My current plan is to transfer 80% of my STEEM to for ETH/HIVE, and then post on both chains. 80% of my STEEM earnings will be transferred to HIVE moving forward.

I will post two exact posts on each chain, however I will put more effort into comments on HIVE. If STEEM makes at least 20% of the pay I would make on HIVE, I will keep posting on both chains. If it makes less than that after 2 weeks of testing, I will switch completely to HIVE.

As for curation, I am not really doing the effort on STEEM and will be focusing all my manual effort towards HIVE. Only things I can easily duplicate, like posts, will I do to both chains.

Don't do the poll site, so will answer here. I'm all in on Hive. While still undecided on what to do with my Steem tokens as my powerdown continues, I've erased many of my posts there using that tool and can't see myself aiding Justin. This fresh start has a lot of upside and potential, not only from the community that banded together, but the acknowledgement from large names in the cryptosphere.

I have already moved to Hive, but I have not completely moved because Steem is listed on more exchanges and I know our brothers and sisters in Venezuela need that flexibility. I have not powered down my Steem for the same reason; instead, @project.hope has a lot of that delegated over there.

I'm also powering down considerable amount of SP on Steemit, and in a month I'll be a very small fish again there. I'm still posting to Steem, but only until my Powerdown finishes. Mostly I want people to know they can find me on Hive. That said, a bit if a fuller explantion as to why I'm moving on to Hive.

I could single out Justin and Tron, and that was certainly an issue, it's more about what was revealed to me during that. Prior to all that happening, I was completely unaware of what people were calling 'The Ninja Mined Stake'. That stake, apparently mined before the crytpo was announced to the world, is seemingly big enough that one person is able to threaten the decentralization of an entire Block chain. It took an entire community, with all of it's biggest investors and stake holders, coming together to put things in a stalemate.

I think the existence of that Ninja Mined Stake was antithetical to the very idea of Decentralization that Steem was allegedly going for. If not for Justin, it was only a matter of time for one person to completely abuse it. That is the key factor for me in deciding to migrate over to Hive, as it seems they are not setting themselves up on the Model of the Ninja Mined Stake.

I will be moving vast majority of activities to hive. Not 100% sure about steem yet, maybe I will just power down and sell all steem, maybe I will keep a bit and decide later. There are still some dapps that have not migrated yet, which is basically only thing that holds me on steem a bit.

Btw sending memo via steem transfer is great way to bypass StInc's censorship. Brilliant!

Hi, I am moving to the new chain Hive and will not be "doing" both sides. I have powered down and shall at least be logging in and curating till then. I decided to move because of certain actions of Mr. Sun which I could not digest. Hope that answers your questions!

What a Poll :D

I’ll create original Content only for HIVE, but I will still support people on STEEM.

It would be the best case scenario, to have both chains alive. That would also create a healthy competition and constantly more attention. But it’s a very fragile wish under the radical TRON administration’s command. I’m sure STEEM is very close to a critical tronny HardFork, we’ll see what’s gonna happen next.

I started to down power as soon as @justinsunsteemit took over and already transferred my liquid STEEM to Hive. So Hive is my main chain already.

However I use @dlike a lot which is still on Steem so I won't abandon Steem for now.

Well, I'm basically posting on both chains but my major interest is in #hive. I don't believe so much in the integrity of the new witnesses, seems more or less a cult of spiteful victims and Justin inspires no confidence at all with his vague promises. I believe in the coming weeks the tension between both communities will ease off and maybe we will see some form of collaboration. I do want to see both blockchains thrive and compete.

I will answer here only since I decided not to post any longer on Steem. So you've already got the gist of my answer.

For the long answer I will copy paste an answer I have already given when asked this question by a user on Steem:

To be blunt, my intention was not to post on Steem any longer at all. At least not directly.

Yet, when you ask me, I need to answer you.

Yes, I am moving to Hive completely. I have already powered up there twice already (1 and 2), powered down here, am selling Steem-Engine tokens, revoking delegations here, ...

I am not even playing @splinterlands any longer.

For me, it is nothing to be torn about. The decision is easy. I don't want to be a part of a centralized platform with censorship and hiding of users' posts in place.

I don't want to invest my time in a place where witnesses are controled or being paid by one entity.

Steem is not my home any longer. I prefer the freedom of #hive.

In the end, it is a choice of each individual member to make. I made my decision already.

Do you follow the price of the tokens?

steem is at $0.169261 while hive is at $0.268956. Does this tell you anything? For me, it speaks volumes.

Anyways, good luck with your decision. I would love to see you on #hive.

The price of STEEM seems to be holding up surprisingly well. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense to double post to double dip on the reward pools. It's basically free money. SteemAuto is working on Steem, which means that even without engagement, the auto-votes keep coming. My lower effort posts seem to be earning more on Steem despite the lower price.

Nice poll buddy. In my opinion, I think everyone deserves the right to choose which chain to put their contents in (Steem, Hive or even both of them). In the past, people cross-posted from Steem to Weku and even to Whaleshares, why not the same to Hive? (We're advocating for a decentralized world after all). It will even be great if a DApp will be designed that can cross-post on both chains at the same time. My option though

I want to be fully on Hive, I'm a divided attention or commitment kind of guy. I have gotten used to some of my favorite Apps (Dlike, Appics) on Steem which are not yet on Hive. I'm hoping they migrate to Hive or we have similar Apps on Hive.

I don't enjoy being on Steem since elements of Censorship starts to exist on the blockchain I have loved so much. I hope we make Hive fully decentralized and the place to be without intimidation for all.

What steemit.inc has done by censoring accounts is dictatorship in action, while his team produces articles written by a 5 year old claiming they will compete with reddit and destroying the blockchain...

I think Justin Sun should sell steemit.inc to someone who gives a shit and isn't going to operate it like the CCP!

As of now, I will wait how things are enfolding. I had been in steemit for quite awhile and there are things that I got so used doing that until now has not been established in hive.

I am not saying that hive is not as good as steemit. What I am saying is, I am waiting. I am giving these guys time to do the final "touches" since all of them knew how steemit works and, they themselves might be the brain behind the projects.

I will reevaluate in the upcoming weeks and will base my decisions then. For the meantime, I will write for both steemit and hive.

Steem may still increase in price. So while my heart is no longer on Steem, I will be doing the power down, and posting on steem over this time. However, Hive is where I will be banking. I may keep a small hold of steem on an exchange in case it goes up, or if JS can take his head out of his butt and becomes a decent leader. This is just my thought.

As @crypto.piotr wrote, it takes a lot of time to work on both chains especially if you want ot answer all the comments. In addition if you have many different accounts, this makes it almost impossible to do. My strategy is to move the interaction little by little to Hive. In my opinion because of the stalemate that was opposing steemit to the witnesses, a huge majority of coins are staked on both blockchains. Many powerful users are however powering down and as soon as the coins will be available, they will sell steem. This means that they will take away their delegations and also their upvotes which in the long term will make it less interesting to post on steem.

For my project @help.venezuela for example, most of the big delegations were taken away for this reason. They are still on Hive however. So it makes more sense for the people supported by the project and also for myself to concentrate on hive.
