Today is another great day I had in my life as I decided to visit this Majestic mountain located at Zone 23, Barangay Poblacion Manticao, Misamis Oriental Mindanao Philippines. Aside of wonderful Paradisiacal views, there are also few stories about the old civilizations where Native people lived here back many centuries already. This Mountain is located near at Bandera Mountain the border between two Barangay, Paniangan and Poblacion. But traveling here is not quite very easy and it will be truly an adventuristic one because of the far location from urbanized areas and climbing slope rocky roads. But the hard trail adventure will be worth it once we reached at the top of the Mountain where overlooking views can be seen and found.
The first photo shows the far neighboring Mountains and few small trees grows. Because of the intense heat always happens here, the grass was completely turned to brown color.
But before reaching the site, It needs to pass by here in this rocky and bumpy road. This is the only way so we can reached the mountain. This rocky and bumpy road is located at Zone 23 Crossing and lots of small vehicles always passing by here. It is easily to locates because of this sign board written the Zone Numbers on it.
The rocky road of Zone 23 is connected here in this Provincial road and it is already built in solid concrete road. Lots of houses and establishments built and lots of cable wires indicates that there are already lots of houses, establishments and commercial buildings built. Traveling from here going to the Mountain takes almost two hours particularly if we only do walking adventure.
As we arrived at the slope areas at the Mountain, it needs to passes by here in this road trail. It contains lots of silica rocks and peebles at the ground and it really needs to walk very carefully to avoid slip. Residents who lives far from the place always passing by here because this is the only shortcut road can be found here. Aside of that, Mountaineers and Bikers really likes to visit here for an adventure because this is perfect as obstacle course for biking and mountain climbing adventure.
At the top of the mountain are lots of big trees and wild plants grows. Some of it are already grows many years has already past and it gives a shade and cool sites perfect for those who wants Mountain adventures. One of the oldest trees here is known as Karot tree where it grows very wide producing lots of branches. Aside of that, small trees and wild plants also grows at the areas where plenty of soil contains because most part of this mountain are made of solid rocks.
This place here was once a cornfield owned by native people, it was once an open areas but as many years has past the areas are now covered with wild grass and small trees. There are few places remains an open field until today and instead of cornfield, camping and picnic sites are perfect spots in here.
Most parts of the Mountain is compost with solid silica rocks just like this, and it only contains small parts of soil. As I observed during my visit at the mountain, the depth of the soil only takes 1 foot that is why agricultural plants like coconuts wont grow here. Trees are grow taller and bigger are in placed at the best areas where roots can stick at the rocks. Due to flash floods, the soil was completely washed away leaving this tons of rocks shows at the surface.
This big rocks are rolled down from the mountain top due to minor landslides during rainy season. Because of the great impact, the line marks at the surface of the rocks created. As many years has past, some of the big rocks here are already covered with moss leaving a great views about Nature activities. If we want to visit the place perfect for camping and picnic trips, this Mountain here located at Zone 23 Barangay Poblacion Manticao is perfect for our adventure.
