When do Hivers Post and Vote the Most? | October 2026

How are we doing with posting these days, having in mind the low overall activity on chain. What is the time when Hivers post and vote/curate the most? Which days of the week? What hour of the day?

Let’s take a look at the latest data from October 2026.

Bearing in mind Hive is a global community posting and voting time can vary a lot. Different time zones etc. Can users optimize their posting time, so they get some more attention?

Here we will be running the data for posting and voting time in parallel, so users can compare them. We will be looking at the hours, and at the days of the week, and combine them for a heat map.

We will be analyzing a five-weeks period, September 21 to October 25, 2026.

The time is in UTC. You can compare it with your local time zone here: https://time.is/UTC

Hours

First the hours. Let’s take a look what time of the day Hivers posted and voted the most in the period.

Note again on the UTC time.

On the posting side we can see that there is a clear trend, where there is more posting between 13h to 15h UTC, with a peak somewhere around 14h and a second peak around 18h. Overall, there is more posting in the 12h to 20h period. Between 5 and 9, there is the lowest number of posts. There is a drop from (18h) to the low hour (9).

On the voting/curating side there is a similar pattern but with more irregularities. There is a peak around 15h then 19h and again at 20h. Interestingly there are some spikes in the voting activity in the 1 to 5 hours, when the posting is low.

The data above is a sum of all the posts in the hours for the period analyzed.

Days of the Week

Now that we have seen the hours data, lets take a look at the days of the week. What days of the week Hivers post and vote the most?

What days of the week Hivers post and vote the most?

image.png

A clear trend on the posts here. Wednesday and Tuesday are the days with the highest numbers of posts, with Monday close behind, while weekends have lower activity. Although the drop in the number of posts is not that big. From 6.9k to 6.3k.

The voting shows a less pronounced pattern, with the peak on Tuesday and the lowest activity on Wednesday. Saturday and Sunday are close to the workdays, with only a small difference across the week.

Heatmap

Combing the days and hours and we get the heat map.

First the posts:

We can see that the start of the week between 12h and 20h is quite busy. This period seems to be divided into two waves, first with a peak around 14h, a slowdown afterwards and again a second peak around 18h. Going towards the weekend the numbers get lower. Monday at 18h is the highest activity in the week.

The quite hours are between 5h and 9h, slightly shifted during the weekend.

On a 2D surface chart the same data looks like this:

image.png

The light blue is with lower activity, dark blue with higher activity. We can clearly see the higher activity at the in the period of 12 to 20 and the slowdown in the “morining” hours and also a somewhat slowdown for the weekend.

The votes heatmap** looks like this.

image.png

Again, voting seems more random than posting. Some spikes happening randomly between hours and days. Although there is more activity in the period as for the posts, that is 13h to 20h. Saturday looks busier for voting than Sunday. Around 8h and 22h is obviously quieter for voting as well.

On a 2D surface chart the voting data looks like this:

Three zones here. The gray represents somewhat of a middle ground, the orange the lows and yellow the peak. Around 20h is the overall peak, while the lows are around 22h. Monday at 5h also stands out.

Put together the two charts look like this:

  • It makes sense that engagement peaks when more users are online, but time zones make the Hive community a bit different from a platform focused on one country :)

Wednesday topping the posts chart while sitting at the bottom for voting is the most surprising finding here — creators publishing mid-week but not curating. Do you think that's mid-week burnout, or people just saving their voting power for the weekend?

Wednesday being the top day surprised me too, I always guessed weekends would win. Your 14h peak makes sense though, that is when most people are online.

i usually giving votes and comment everyday but this analysis is awesome :D

  • Oh, so these are the times when it's good to post! I’ve been posting every 24 hours. 😅 Thanks for sharing—this is really helpful, especially for those of us who don't know the best times to post. 😅

This is really helpful, especially for those of us who are trying to grow our presence on Hive and reach more readers. Thanks you so much for the updates.

It is always interesting to see how data backs up what we just feel intuitively about the chain. I never would have guessed Wednesday is actually the highest day for posts though.

Those random voting spikes between 1h and 5h UTC when posting is super low are really interesting. Great charts as usual man, super helpful for timing our posts better.

I didn't know this. So, post around mid-afternoon pays. I think it is because of work engagement that makes people to post more in afternoon than morning time

Love the graphs and the insights!
