Happy Halloween und Happy Bitcoin Whitepaper Day!
Die Reformation ist noch lange nicht abgeschlossen. 🦇₿

Die historische Parallele
• 31. Oktober 2008: Satoshi Nakamoto veröffentlichte das Bitcoin-Whitepaper („Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System“), was von vielen als symbolischer Anfang für die Trennung von Geld und Staat verstanden wird.
Aktueller Bezug (18. Bitcoin-Geburtstag / Whitepaper Day 2026)
• Die Bitcoin-Idee feierte am 31. Oktober 2026 ihren 18. Geburtstag.
English
It’s that time of year again. On October 31st, people take to the streets in costume, scaring their neighbors and collecting candy.
Personally, however, I am celebrating a different kind of reformation today. 👻
Less than 30 kilometers from where I live, Martin Luther made history over 500 years ago. On October 31, 1517, his 95 Theses ignited a movement that profoundly shook the established order of the Church.
Through my own small blog, I am attempting to make a modest contribution to a different kind of reformation: the reformation of our financial system.
For just as Luther challenged the power of the Church, Satoshi Nakamoto challenged the power of the monetary system.
📜 October 31, 1517: Luther—a reformation of faith.
₿ October 31, 2008: Satoshi—a reformation of money.
Two events, 491 years apart, yet sharing a striking commonality: both challenged an established order.
Incidentally, today also marks the 18th anniversary of the Bitcoin white paper.
Greater financial freedom for citizens, less dependence on central institutions, and a monetary system that cannot simply be altered at will.
And let’s be honest:
Do you really think Satoshi chose October 31st to publish his white paper just because it happened to be Halloween? 🤔
Perhaps the greatest specter of our time isn’t death…
…but rather a financial system that has kept us poor for generations? 💀
Happy Halloween and Happy Bitcoin White Paper Day! The Reformation is far from over. 🦇₿

The Historical Parallel
• October 31, 1517: Martin Luther published his theses, symbolically initiating the separation of church and state.
• October 31, 2008: Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin white paper (“Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System”), which many view as the symbolic beginning of the separation of money and state.
Current Context (18th Bitcoin Anniversary / White Paper Day 2026)
• The Bitcoin concept celebrated its 18th anniversary on October 31, 2026.
• In German-speaking regions, this date is often referred to—whether in jest or from a philosophical perspective—as the “Bitcoin Reformation,” as it challenges traditional, centralized banking systems and intermediaries.
• Background info: While the actual Bitcoin network did not go live until January 3, 2009, with the genesis block, October 31 is considered the birth of the underlying idea.
