Today I am writing a foodie post again, and it is in Mildly Infuriating community here lol. I am a pretty melancholic person, so I easily get infuriated over anything. Well I do not easily get offended or angry and mad over small things, but getting infuriated is something that happens automatically same as I breath to get air lol.
I have this post in my draft for over than two months, and I have decided to finish this post and publish it in this community instead of Asean Hive Community. I made the post because I really got disappointed with them and I forbid myself to grab any food from them again.
In general, nothing seemed wrong with them, especially on their food. They always gave a generous portion on your plate, so this shot was not something that I take or scope it myself. The place was clean, and there were days that they had many visitors.
But like I said above, there were days they had many visitors... they do not have those visitors anymore, as I recently saw the place was almost empty in lunch hours. I guess whatever I say here should be true as many others customers do not come there anymore.
This was my main menu and the last one I had there. On the right was a fired chicken and the green one was a cassava leaves curry. A fried chicken and cassava leaves, this is a popular combination in all Indonesian Rice Hut, including in Nasi Padang Outlet.
This pair gave me a bad experience. The chicken tasted bitter, as if they forgot to give any seasoning on it. The cassava leaves were terrible too, they were hard to chew. This is what we call as old matured leaves, which are harder and not easy to digest. There is nothing wrong with older cassava leaves, but we need to boil or cook them longer.. and in this case, I bet they did not do that.
Now it's time for my side dish. I ordered a spicy sweet fried potatoes, or maybe some of you might call this as potato matchsticks. They used to have a good taste, but this time I had it very bitter and instead of having a smokey crispy taste from them, I got a burnt overcooked taste.
My guess was... they kept reheating it over days. They used to serve these potatoes in small portion, not as many as this one.
Now the last one... Scammy Ice Tea. 80% of the drink was ice cubes lol. They used to be a fair stall, did not cheat their customers like this.
So that day was the last day I came there. I could not finish my dish, and I dared to say that it was very terrible and deserved to be said as hardly editable.
In the past it was their mother who ran the stall. Nowadays I only saw her children who might only cared about the money they got. But that was not an excuse for their terrible food. I could only say goodbye to them, there are many other food stalls or rice huts that would serve me better food and more reasonable price.
