The blockchain remembers everything

Hive is a blockchain. A blockchain is a public record. Every action is saved there forever.

When you send tokens, it is saved. When you power down, it is saved. When you vote, post, comment or delegate, it is saved. When you create a new account, the record shows who made it and when.

Nobody can delete this record. Not you, not me, not anyone.

Anyone can look at it. It only takes a few minutes. So if your story does not match what your wallet shows, people will see it. This is not a bad thing. It is the whole point. The blockchain makes us accountable. Honest users have nothing to worry about, because their record speaks for them.

So be honest. Your wallet is telling your story anyway.

it is funny how people sometimes forget that every single transaction is right there in the open for anyone to check

Honesty is always the best policy and on the blockchain you are likely to be found out. It's not hard to query all sorts of things here. I like the openness of Hive, but then you have to be conscious that everything is public and act accordingly. One advantage is that it's hard to fake an account as people can check the history and who follows it. We've had these fake airdrops, but if they create a new account then there's no links to established people. That is why they are trying to hijack existing accounts.

Of course people should be free to power down if they want/need to.
